Concert Reviews

Sparks Lights the Friction, Few Left Standing, Unearth, Sworn Enemy, Poison The Well. Best show ever at the map room. It was FLS's last memphis show. It was so awesome PTW kicked major butt, awesome hxc show for the kids. Northeast arkansas's scene was represnted well. it rocked:)

The Handshake Murders/Few Left Standing/.hopesfall.--One of the best shows I have ever attended, These guys are so ministry focusued. The show was in Memphis at Last Place on Earth, The Handshake Murders opened up the show. It was as intense and crazy as the cd. No more intense, they set the stage for how the rest of the night would go. Following the Handshake Murders, who are a must see, and a must buy for the cd, came .hopesfall. who rocked out with there a few of there old songs, but mostly played new stuff. It was a very very very good show, anyone who calls themselves and emo/hardcore fan yet doesn't own the .hopesfall. cd, or hasn't seen them in concert, should be ashamed. They are talking with a few labels right now,(reportedly Take Hold, and Tooth & Nail are in the mix) be in prayer for them as they are contemplating what company to go on. They closed the show out with me and my friends favorite, Shines Through, it was an awesome emotion filled show. But the best part of the night was hometown Favorites Few Left Standing. The crowd came alive as Few Left Standing moved up on to the stage-The Handshake Murders and .hopesfall. had played on the floor in front of the stage-The band had some fun in front of the hometown crowd, Jon's double bass pedal broke, while he was fixing it Aaron came up behind him gave him a major wedgie and then jon thows water on him, and it got funny:) after they got into it, they broke out a brand new song called "No Apology" and it rocked hard! You must catch these guys and get there cd and 7" I love all three of the bands hearts for ministry more than anything else though, they realize its all about Jesus and not the music, and not the money. I would recomend all 3 bands to any hardcore fan. God Bless 1-2-01 reviewed by scooby

Hey, Wassup? If you can't decide on a Festival to go to in the summer...let me choose:) go to Cornerstone!! it was totally awesome! you name the christian band, and they were probably there, rocking for God. The best shows were (in my opinion)Emo band-.hopesfall; Hardcore-Few Left Standing; Rap-core-P.O.D.(crowd wasn't too good); Punk-Smiley Kids(R.I.P-last show ever:(); Ska-Five Iron Frenzy; Oldies-Gene Eugene Tribute with Adam Again and many many other people; Folk-Vigilanties Of Love, Acoustic-Brave St. Saturn; Electronica/Dance-Joy Electric. just you guys have to check it out! these weren't the only awesome bands, but you have to check it out for yourself! for info check out www.cornerstonefestival.com I am going to be going to some lighter bands shows in the next couple of months,(Riley Armstrong, Jars of Clay/Jennifer Knapp, and Natalie Grant/Greg Long) plus an awesome release party in Little Rock most likey(Living Sacrafice with Squad Five-0 and Blindside) and then to a Hangnail show. so check in here soon:) God bless for now!

Buck - The Christian Ska band out of Detroit Michigan came to Jonesboro, and was at trinity church a second time in the last 5 months. The band is totally awesome and totally down to earth. they had a great opening set, followed by a testimony from Seth, the lead vocalist. after which a few people dedicated their lives to Christ! following the altar call, the band came back and did an awesome Praise and Worship set. afterwards, we talked about everythign with the band, and even brought up how the BEST guitar player from this area burnt his hand while at work at burger king clenaing out the frier, and can't play right now(keep lucy in your prayers!) seth got a good laugh out of that one! I will have pictures up from this concert soon (thanks to my best friend teddi). Buck also gave us a sneak peak of their new album (business as usual) which will be released under their new name Buck Enterprises. They are definitly worth the addmission price, you will be blessed to be at the concert! God really moves thru them!

The Holy Roller Tour hit Memphis thursday October 14, 1999, and it was AWESOME!!! The Opening act was a newcomer, Justin McRoberts, he was a great surprise, he did a mock of Livin' La Vida Locco, after that, he did his set, it was good. After Justin, The Insyderz came up and cranked out a great set. It was action packed and very good, it included a lot of there new praise and worship from there new album(Skalleluah 2). I was skankin all night long, the mosh pit and skankin floor, plus the swing dancing floor were moving all night! After The Insyderz awesome set, Came The W's!! they totally rocked!!! they played new stuff from there album that is about to release, and all the old hits, plus as an added treat, a cover of country roads(the old John Denver song). Then came up the band called Five Iron Frenzy,(my personal favorite from the concert) The rocked the microphone and had teh crownd skankin, swingin, moshin, and even doing the airplane(me and three of my friends) The highlight of the whole night though was the "last" song, and the next to last sogn by Five Iron Frenzy, the next to last was Dandelions, which was great, there were a lot of people praising god during that, then they were closing with "Every New Day" with a little help on vocals by Joe From the Insyderz, the song ended, Reese(lead singer for FIF) grabbed the microcphone, and started doing some accapella praise and worship, joe and a few of the band members grabbed some mics, and sang also, all the mosh pit was in voice with no music, just praising god, it ruled!! for anyone who thinks that christian alternative/Ska/Rock is of the Devil, that proves otherwise!!

The concert of the century happened in Little Rock, Arkansas on June 1st, It was started out by the awesome band Blindside, then (My Fave) Project 86 rocked the stage, then of course another awesome band P.O.D. rocked it out! the mosh pit was awesome, i was in it and it ruled, there was thrahing, crowd surfing and even a few people skankin!

I'm back. one of the best concert that I have went to so far this year was a Mukala, Seven Day Jesus, and Bleach concert. I was in the front row in the center with my best friends The Athletic Jock, Veggie, Lucy, Jeremy, And Last but definitley not least KETCHUP. The next best was a Mancy A'lan Kane, Skypark, And Skillet cocert. That's it for now,

Peace & LUV n Christ,

Scooby
