In Arica/Oscar, a "tuning" is a series of "synchronized" meditations. "In fact, Arica tunings are intended to actualize the Metasociety ["…the society of the Oneness of humanity," service marked by Arica] right now." - Ichazo, The Arican, Autumn 1996, pg 32. The Arican ADU [Arica Day of Unity] tunings a monthly meditation with a worldwide participation of a couple of hundred believers, is compared by Ichazo, energy wise, to that of the French, American and Russian revolutions.

When the even more stupendous 1998 tuning was announced, one pathetic Arican, thinking that being gone for the weekend (or something similar), she had missed out on Pristine Enlightenment, panicked. She was immediately reassured that the tuning would last until 31 December 1998.

She will no doubt be even more reassured that another tuning, June to December 1999, is on offer. This one has the advantage of requiring another $500-750 training to go along with it.

[Pristine Enlightenment: Pure, Unspoiled Enlightenment. Impure and spoiled enlightenment has yet to be described.]

ARICA HAWAIII

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL TUNING

"On June 1, 1998 an international tuning of the School will commence with the purpose of unifying the spiritual energy of the School across a multi-level practice of trainings, which will establish the highest spiritual attainment by the attunement between Aricans and the Mystical School (past, present, and future). By all Aricans participating in this School-wide tuning, we will enlarge the amount of spiritual energy in a clearly manifested way, moving history closer toward the realization of Humanity-One.

[Humanity-One, defined by AricaOscar as the enlightened body of humanity, is a service mark of Arica Institute! So Arica has service marked not only all human beings, but human culture as well. The basis for such a claim? Just the usual triple weirdness: Arrogance, Avarice and Deceit.]

"The importance of an international School tuning at this time is essential for absorbing and embodying the spiritual energy necessary for our completion as a School with the total maturity to attain enlightenment based on our unified offering to benefit all sentient beings and our precious goal of Humanity-One. For this historical tuning, the ninth and final limb of Divine Nature, Divine Union, will be available, which is the achievement of Supreme Liberation (Buddhahood) or Supreme Enlightenment. By all practitioners of the School starting their practice at whatever level on June 1st, the force of the final step of the great phenomena of the tantric transformation of the Highest Rituals of Completion of the Telesmatta of Truth w For this historical tuning, the ninth and final limb of Divine Nature, Divine Union, will be available, which is the achievement of Supreme Liberation (Buddhahood) or Supreme Enlightenment. …the force of the final step…will open a profound spiritual energy across the entire School for all humanity by transcending our limited lower ego into the transformative state of Light and bliss, the Divine Mind of Supreme Theosis." [Theosis: Arica term for union with God.]

Every Arican is called to join this historical wave of spiritual energy and to start a training at whatever level of practice in order to be part of the largest collective tuning of the worldwide School since its inception. The immense accumulation of spiritual force from the Daily Routine to the highest feats of attainment of Divine Union will be experienced by every practitioner as an outpouring of gratitude, love, and bliss from the center of our heart to all humanity. May the immense energy of our united spiritual work across the great blessing of our beloved School give rise to the Light that is in all of us to serve and strengthen our precious goal of Humanity-One. ETHICS COUNCIL

"With the integration and unification of he School by the International Tuning that began June 1, Aricans are experiencing the energy and force of the school at a new MMP [Material Manifestation Point: a thing or event.]. The Ethics Council [The Arica "judicial" system, roughly a cross between that of North Korea and Iran.] encourages Aricans not currently participating in a training to join their brothers and sisters in this tuning, at any level of the Work of the School, to further the goal of Humanity-One and the accomplishment of the Metasociety. Aricans can also contribute to the Arica Ethos [An Arica nine point loyalty oath disguised as a moral philosophy.] by supporting the School with their annual membership, which can be renewed this month."

It is undeniable that our work, when offered for the benefit of all and the realization of Humanity-One, across a School-wide tuning, produces an extra input of energy that heightens the experience of the work for all practitioners. The alignment of our vows and dedication of the work for all humanity is a blessing beyond words, and can be felt by the practitioner as bliss in the heart and as Light in the mind."

ARICA HAWAI'I

CONFIDENTIAL - FOR THE EYES OF THE SCHOOL ONLY

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL-WIDE TUNING

"Our unified offering as Aricans is to benefit all sentient beings and our precious goal of Humanity-One, and this is the ground for calling an international School-wide Tuning for our School of Knowledge, whose purpose is to open the way and to acquire the Supreme Good of enlightenment and unity with the Divine. It is across our ongoing practice as Aricans that is instrumental and essential for the realization of the Supreme Good of Theosis (pristine enlightenment) for the benefit of all, and the Tuning this year will have the necessary energy, maturity, and spiritual strength towards True Knowledge and self-realization that will meet the inevitable pressure of the end of the millennium, and these Teachings, embodied through our practice, will be assimilated and accepted into the global culture as Divine Providence for the unfolding of the new century.

"This year the central body of work of the Tuning will be the embodiment, imprinting, and complete absorption of the Divine Ideas at their highest level of manifestation, as presented in the new training called the Divine Ideas Meditation of The Telesmatta of Grace.

"The Divine Ideas Meditation is available to all members of the Arica Institute, at whatever level of practice, who have either attended the 1995 Reunion or have completed the Initiation Into the Universe of Light Ritual, and who have attended one of the new Autodiagnosis Trainings. Registration forms will be sent in the near future from the Oscar Ichazo Company. The order form for the new 1999 Arican will also be sent from the Oscar Ichazo Company in this mailing. The Tuning is scheduled for June 1, 1999."(Arica Hawaii, February 1999)

[Observations: The phenomenal promises of the 1998 Tuning: "On June 1, 1998 an international tuning of the School will commence…which will establish the highest spiritual attainment by the attunement between Aricans and the Mystical School (past, present, and future). … For this historical tuning, the ninth and final limb of Divine Nature, Divine Union, will be available, which is the achievement of Supreme Liberation (Buddhahood) or Supreme Enlightenment. …the force of the final step…will open a profound spiritual energy across the entire School for all humanity by transcending our limited lower ego into the transformative state of Light and bliss, the Divine Mind of Supreme Theosis."

As you might guess, and as is normal for AricaOscar "historical" events, nothing happened. Here is the way the 1998 tuning was sent from complete insignificance into total oblivion:

"An international School-wide tuning will be announced in the near future this year, as an outcome of the enthusiasm experienced by many Aricans, who wrote expressing the enormous energy and Light they felt during last year's tuning."

In other words, the promised "profound spiritual energy for all humanity" and "the Divine Mind of Supreme Theosis ," and "the achievement of Supreme Liberation (Buddhahood) or Supreme Enlightenment", actually resulted in some unspecified letters from Aricans expressing enthusiasm.

The new 1999 tuning was announced in the same breath as the non-existent results of the 1998 job. Typically crude misdirection and gloss over.

Also interesting to note is that the new Divine Ideas meditation and the new Arican journal are coming out of Oscar Ichazo Company, not Arica Institute. This is part of what is rumoured to be a shift of responsibilities and assets away from Arica Institute to Oscar Ichazo Company, a company whose legal status is not publicly known. Such a shift would no doubt result in the collapse of the Institute within a short time and the ethical and legal basis for such a shift - so far all such planning has been done in secret, without informing or gaining the consent of the membership.

In a practical sense, not much would change, as four Arica entities, Arica Institute Hawaii Inc (branch of NY based tax exempt corporation), Oscar Ichazo Company (legal status unknown), Velocity Training Inc (legal status unknown) and Sequoia Press (legal status unknown) are run by Mrs Ichazo (with some office help*) from the same room at Mr and Mrs Ichazo's Maui, Hawaii home. One might inquire how such theoretically separate entities avoid conflicts of interest, especially since all substantive Arica Institute Inc NY decisions also are made in Hawaii.
