Sheep

An alien race comes to planet Earth to study humankind. Somehow the ship computer, Dr. Watson, botches the landing and the ship crashes. The alien researchers begin to make the best of their situation. They find the grass and flowers of our world to be quite tasty--and nutritious to boot. Eventually they forget their mission and live out their lives in peaceful harmony with the rest of humanity. We come to know them as "sheep." Time passes. The 21st Amendment is passed; Jefferson Airplane becomes Jefferson Starship; Capital Critters is cancelled.

But then the mothership returns to reclaim these wayward ruminants. Four earth creatures are captured by the aliens and implanted with special "herding" skills. These four beings are charged with gathering up the sheep and delivering them safely to the waiting mothership. But there's a catch. Dr. Watson, who has been repairing himself since the crash, has become paranoid. Living in a computer will do that to you, you know. He thinks the sheep are out to destroy him and he's decided to strike first. His plans to kill the sheep will confront you at every turn. It's up to you to deliver your ovine charges quickly and safely to their final destination.

There are four shepherds to choose from. First off is Little Bo Peep. Forget everything you thought you knew about this childhood icon. This Bo Peep is, in the words of Alison Ryan, "a cross between Bjork and Courtney Love." Bo has an updated, threatening kind of look but she's still sweet deep down inside. Heck, she's pretty sweet on the outside. The sheep have a natural attraction to Bo (as does yours truly, I might add), and you'll be able to rely on her nurturing nature to control the sheep. Adam Half-Pint is the male shepherd. He's got a leopard skin coat and is really good at shoving the sheep around. The two sheepdogs are equally interesting. Shep is sort of a Rambo meets Lassie dog, complete with spiked bandoleer and eyepatch. Last is Motley, who Alison describes as Mr. Blobby. For those of you who don't know who Mr. Blobby is, he's a chubby European character who "gets in people's way." The team is looking for a counterpart for Motley that American gamers might be more familiar with. We suggested Tal.

There are 3 different was to control your herd. Shouting, Giving Treats, and Playing the Radio. Each character has about 5 voice levels, causing the sheep to react differently to each. You could also shove them. The sheep treat are attractive to the sheep, Who passes a free treat? You can also attract them by playing the Radio. You use Earplugs for this. The Heart power-up will cause the sheep to run towards the warm love that you will suddenly radiate.
