Boyette Fleming Olive, my great grandfather, was born in 1856 in Chambers
County Alabama and died 25 October, 1913 in McKamie, Arkansas in Lafayette
County. Hillard Haywood Olive and Sarah Elizabeth Sharman, his parents, moved
the family to Arkansas from Alabama. His life was spent as a farmer in the
Mars Hill/McKamie, Arkansas area.
On 12 October, 1878 he married Maggie Andrew Proctor, the only child of William Andrew Proctor and Frances N. McKamie, of McKamie, Arkansas.
Mary Fizer Olive and Robert Earl Lee were married 30 May, 1913 in Stamps,
Arkansas, Lafayette County. Bob Lee was a rural mail carrier in McKamie, Arkansas
and Mary was a teacher. The land they farmed in Hempstead and Lafayette Counties
is now owned by their 5 grandchildren. Jamie Maxine Lee and Mary Hilma Lee were
their two daughters.
This engagement picture was taken in 1939. Maxine married Billie Frank Powell
and had three children. She was a school teacher before their marriage. They
spent most of their life in Lafayette county Arkansas where they had several
businesses, including a Piggly Wiggly grocery store.
Their grandchildren are pictured during the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mary Hilma married B.A. Allen and had two daughters. Mary Hilma and B.A. both taught school after college, but B.A. spent most of his years working for an oil company.
They had three grandsons and one granddaughter.
