Hank
and Eulaine's Ozark Music is one of the most popular and
versatile groups playing the traditional Ozark Mountain
music. They are working out of Western Washington. They
have been featured at many theme parks including the
Ozark Folk Center State Park, Silver Dollar City,
Branson, Missouri and Six Flags over Texas. They also
perform at many festivals in the mid-south, as well as
show dates in Texas, Arizona, and the west coast. During
the school year they can be found performing in the
"Artist In The School" program, bringing the
school children traditional Ozark Music and craft
demonstrations in broom making and corn shuck doll
making.
Hank
and Eulaine Blumenthal are a husband and wife duo, who
play banjo, mandolin, guitar, auto- harp, dobro, picking
bow, spoons, bowed psaltry and fiddle. Hank's virtuosity
on the guitar has placed him in second place in the Merle
Travis National Thumbpicking Guitar Championship, while
Eulaine has been a finalist in the Southern Regional
Autoharp Competition. In addition to their instrumental
skills, Hank and Eulaine share vocal lead and blend their
voices in two-part harmony as they sing Old Time Folk,
Gospel, Traditional, and Bluegrass favorites.
They
are joined by their grandson, Kevin Lowe (thirteen years
old) who sings, plays fiddle, bass, spoons, wash-board,
and jig dances in the traditional ozark style. |
