Casey Straton has a point to prove - that she has what it takes to run her grandfather's ranch. So Casey takes to the trail to become a bounty hunter. Damian Rutledge III has justice to serve - hunting down the man who killed his father. When Damian is robbed and lost, he finds Casey's campfire and soon learns that "Kid" is indeed a skilled bounty hunter, and hires "him" to help find the murderer. Casey finds the tenderfoot Easterner amusing, but there is nothing amusing about how this handsome man makes her feel. When Casey lets Damian in on the fact that her poncho hides a woman's body, Damian cannot stop the instantaneous response of his own body. On the trail of his father's killer, Damian and Casey succumb to passion. Once the man is captured, they go their separate ways, only to reunite when he escapes. Casey grudgingly agrees, not wanting to prolong her heartache, but when Damian finally realizes what loosing her means, he shows her that he'll never let her leave him again.
