Once A Princess

Copyright 1991 Johanna Lindsey.

Lonely, hardworking Tanya could only put up with her life of drudgery in a Mississippi tavern, waiting for the day her debauched father died and the bar would be hers. But her life changes the night five mysterious strangers enter the bar and her eyes meet the burning gold stare of Stefan Barany. Stefan is in America to find the woman exiled from his homeland as a baby to escape death at the hands of her enemies - a woman waiting to become his bride and future queen of Cardinia. He did not expect the princess to be some dowdy tavern wench who knows nothing of her heritage and wouldn't believe a word he said. Tanya could not believe she could be the Princess Tatiana even when they spirited her away down the Mississippi and across the sea. Time would convince her, just as being close to Stefan would arouse her passion to life. As Tanya's beauty is made apparent, Stefan finds himself fascinated, yet wary, less she spurn him. As their passions ignite and burn through their resistance to each other, Tanya and Stefan find that only love can rule their hearts.
