Elizabeth's father left Pennsylvania c1836 for Palmyra, Marion County, Missouri, where he received a land patent in 1838 and remained many years. When the family moved to Morgan County, Illinois, Elizabeth went with them. She was married in Morgan County, Illinois, January 28, 1849, to William G Johnson. William was born c1810 in Kentucky. He might be the son of Elizabeth ? Johnson who appeared with the family in 1860.

On the 1860 census, in the city of Jacksonville, Morgon County, Illinois, we find:
This family was enumerated #300/300 on the 8th Jun 1860 in Jacksonville, Morgan Co, IL pg 367 (top left pg 45; ancestry image 45/563). Their neighbors were #298 George ?Pfraniger, #299 William L Butler, #301 Joseph ?Flory, #302 E Y Miller, #303 unoccupied, #304 John Pyatt (Elizabeth's brother), #305 unoccupied, #306 C K Sawyer/Lawyer, #307 John Burns, #308 Thomas C Rout, and #309 I N Martin. At #623 pg 412 were Elizabeth's parents with her brother, Oliver. By this time, their brother, Benjamin, had moved to Sangamon County, Illinois. Their sister, Emily Pyatt Cassell was in Indian Creek, Emerald Point P O, in Morgan County.
By the 1870 census, of Jacksonville Ward 3, Morgan County, Illinois, they appeared as follows:
This family enumerated #304/334 pg 528 on 6th Jun 1870 (ancestry.com image 239/330). On page 516 was Elizabeth's brother, Oliver Pyatt. O J Pyatt, another brother was Asst Marshall who did the enumeration - so, we can at least assume that this family was correctly enumerated. Also in Morgan County was Elizabeth's brother, Benjamin Pyatt, and family living at #18/18 on pg 480. Elizabeth's brother, John, with his wife Caroline and family were living with the Arbogast and Taylor families at #20/21 on pg 482.
