Jessie Henry Pyeatt

Jessie Henry Pyeatt, son of Peter Paulus Pyeatt and Mary Polly Miller was born in 1840 in Washington County, Arkansas and died after 1880. He was married May 8, 1860 in Washington County, Arkansas, (book B pg 232) to Isabelle Jane Buchanan.

The first census of Jessie and his bride was the 1860 census where they appeared in Boonesboro, Cane Hill Township, Washington County, Arkansas:

This couple was enumerated #759/189 pg 583 image 109/338. Their neighbors were ? Simpson, John Leach, Thomas Leach, Amanon Payne, Arthur Evins, Colburn Burch, John Foshe, Jessie's sister-in-law, Jane Payatt (widow of James Pyeatt), Anthony Houston, Lavinia Oliver, and Jessie's sister-in-law, Adaline Payatt (widow of John Pyeatt). Also in Boonesboro were his brother Jacob P Pyeatt, and John Rankin Pyeatt and Peter Paulus Pyeatt (brothers and 1st cousins to Jessie's father).

On the 1870 census of Boonesboro, Cane Hill Township, Washington County, Arkansas, the family appeared as follows:

This family was enumerated #198 pg 96A Boonesboro Sept 1870 image 30/41. Their neighbors were Sarah Wheurey, A P Hanby, A Pinkney, R B Crocket (w/ Luck family), J R Brim (includes 12-year-old female Pyatt Brim), Jesse Rector, G W Scott, Thos Morrow, Robert Leach, and Jessie's brother, Andrew Pyatt at #203. Also in Cane Hill Township were Jessie's sister-in-law Martha Jane Pyeatt at #223, John Rankin Pyeatt at #123, and Henry Porter Pyeatt (brother of John Rankin Pyeatt and 1st cousin of Jessie's father) at #125. Were Laura and Emma born in Kansas as the census appears to indicate?

After the birth of their youngest known son, James, in 1874, the family moved to Texas. They appeared as follows on the 1880 census of Precinct 3, ED 121, Montague County, Texas:
