Joseph and Minnie Myrick McDowell
Joseph "Joe" McDowell was born September 3, 1869 in Ripley County, Missouri to George Washington and Lucy Johnson McDowell. He died May 15, 1960 and is buried in the Macedonia Cemetery in Ripley County along with his wife Minnie Myrick who was born May 25, 1873 to ?John W and Mary L Myrick (is this the Mary Louticiah Holder Myrick 5 Oct 1845 - 28 Nov 1925 who is also buried at Macedonia?). Minnie died September 20, 1938. Joseph and Minnie had the following children per the 1900 census of Ripley County, MO and Macedonia Cemetery inscriptions:
- McDowell, Ella born Oct 1891 in MO
- McDowell, Syntha born May 1892 in MO
- McDowell, Viola born May 27, 1897 in MO died October 25, 1900
- McDowell, Gliss? (male) born Nov? 1899
Mary L Myrick (Mother-in-law) was also living with the family during the 1900 census. Five houses away lived the family of Albert and Mary McKinney Myrick with their children and Albert's brother Rufus Myrick. These are the only Myricks in Ripley County and all three children are likely to be siblings and children of Mary L Myrick who was born in Tennessee.
