John Pyott was recorded on tax lists of Chester County, Pennsylvania, in 1735 in Lower Darby Township, in 1739 in Haverford Township, and from 1740 to 1762 in Upper Darby Township. From 1753 to 1759 John's tax was shared with Elizabeth Rhodes, whose relationship to him is unknown. John Pyott moved to Loudoun County, Virginia, by 1765, in which year he leased land and was granted a license to operate an ordinary (i.e., a tavern). In 1766 Deborah Pyott managed to be reinstated to Quaker membership by the Darby Hicksite Monthly Meeting and she then secured a certificate of transfer to the Fairfax Monthly Meeting in Loudoun County, Virginia.
The children of John and Deborah (for who I have information):
When John and Deborah Pyott moved to Virginia with their younger children,
their son, James Pyott, took over their homestead in Upper Darby Township, a transition that is evident in the Upper Darby tax lists. The last year that John "Piet" was listed in Upper Darby was 1762. The next year, 1763, James Pyett, a free (single) man, was listed instead.
