Michael and Eliza had the following known children:

• Francis Piatt (not listed by Trix Piatt Koch; probably died young)
• Harry L Piatt b: c1870 MO

On the 1850 census of Ward 11 Cincinnati, Ohio we find Michael and family as follows:

• Piall/Piatt, Michael age 33 / male
• Piall/Piatt, Eliza age 30 / female
• Piall/Piatt, Mary age 12 born OH / female / att school
• Piall/Piatt, Emily age 9 born OH / female / att school
• Piall/Piatt, Elina age 5 born OH / female
• Piall/Piatt, Francis age 3 born OH / female
• Piall/Piatt, Hymore age 8/12 born OH / male

This family was indexed as 'Piall' and was enumerated #2125/3183 pg 348 (ancestry image 383/465). Their neighbors were #2122 John Fay, #2123 Margaret Ford, #2124 Paul Snapper/Skinner, #2126 William Bromby, #2127 John Fouch, #2128 Enoch Skinner, #2129 Harry Snider, #2130 Valentine Will. The 8-month-old appears to be Harry B Piatt. I wonder that the girl's names do not match up more closely with the known adult names of thier children. Perhaps 'Elina' is a misreading of 'Eliza'. There also appears to be an 'extra' daughter on the census.

I could not find Michael on the 1860 census would have shed a lot of light on his children. However, Michael and Harry/Henry appears as follows in various city directories of St. Louis:

• 1867 Piatt, Henry B. clk Griswold, Crie & Co. r. es. 9th bet. Mallinckrodt and Salisbury
• Piatt, Michael H. speculator r. es. 9th, bet. Mallinckrodt and Salisbury
• 1868 Piatt, Henry B. conductor, Lindell city railway, r. 9th, se. cor. Salisbury
• Piatt, Michael, foreman, Lindell city railway, r. 9th, se. cor. Salisbury

I also do not have this family on the 1870 census.

In the 1880 Gould's St. Louis, Missouri General & Business Directory we find: Piatt, Michael H. - vet surg. r at 3614 N 9th (nearby is his son, Harry B. - foreman, r. 1818 North 9th.

His census entry from St Louis County, St Louis City, Missouri in 1880 was as follows:

• Piatt, Eliza B (wife) age 50 born OH
• Piatt, Harry L (son) age 10 born MO (this family enumerated vol 34 ed 61 sh 25 line 18: #3614 N 9th Street, St Louis)

• Piatt, Rosa (wife) age 24 born PA
• Piatt, Josephina (daughter) age 2 born St Louis
• Piatt, Augusta (daughter) age 4/12 born St Louis
• Piatt, Alfred (relative) age 9 born St Louis (this family enumerated vol 31 ed 31 sh 4 line 15: #1818 9th Street, St Louis)
