Nathan S and Malissa A Hill Piatt
Nathan S Piatt was born in Columbus Junction, Bartholomew County, Indiana, on May 5, 1841 to Benjamin F and Ann Carter Piatt. He died July 22, 1922, in the hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, and is buried in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa. His obituary appeared in the Mills County Tribune, Glenwood, Iowa, on July 27, 1922. He had a brother named William Carter Piatt. Nathan married Malissa Ann Hill in Columbus Jct, Bartholomew County, Indiana, on Dec 5, 1861. Malissa died December 20, 1872 in Barkley Township, Jasper County, Indiana. She is buried in the Sandridge Cemetery.

After Melissa's death in 1872, Nathan married second Catharine Jane Campbell in Jasper County, Indiana, March 6, 1873. Catherine was born September 2, 1846, in Auglaize County, Ohio. Nathan and Catharine relocated their family to Kansas. They lived on their farm in Hawkeye Township, Osborne, KS in 1880 with children, George, Amy, Minnie and Benjamin. Nathan and Catherine moved to Mills County, Iowa, about 1890. They lived in Glenwood City. In 1900, Nathan and Catherine moved to Plattsmouth, Cass, Nebraska, where they owned a farm. Catherine died on September 24, 1914, and is buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa. After Catherine's death, Nathan lived with his granddaughter Pearl Reed and her family. At death, he had 20 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
