Thomas and Pelisha Gill Pyatt

Thomas Pyatt was born September 15, 1842, in Illinois (probably Perry County) to Jacob and Elizabeth Stewart Pyatt and died November 1, 1927, in Lemhi, Idaho. He married on October 16, 1867, in Perry County, Illinois, Pelisha Gill who was born c1850 in Illinois and died September 17, 1922. Their marriage bond was for 'Thomas Pyatt' and 'Pelitha Gill' vol 4 page 503.

The known children of Thomas and Pelisha were as follows:

Thomas's family had been in Perry County, Illinois, since before 1840. While Thomas was very young and within the span of a month, his nine-year-old brother and one-year-old sister died. On the 1850 census and 1860 census Thomas appeared with his parents and then his widowed mother in Perry County, Illinois.

By the 1870 census of DuQuoin, Perry County, Illinois, Thomas and family were enumerated as follows:

They were enumerated at #143/146 on 20 Jul 1870; ancestry image 20/23 [Pickneyville marked through and changed to DuQuoin]. Their neighbors included Thomas' mother, Elizabeth, living with his brother, Jacob Pyatt, at #154 and his brothers Corydon and George at #80 and #85. Also in Perry County were the families of Samual Pyatt (son of Ebenezer Pyatt) and his son Milburn M Pyatt.

By the 1880 census the family was in Junction, Lemhi Valley, Lemhi County, Idaho

This information was abstracted at familysearch.org; page 214D. Nearby were the only other Pyeatt/Piatt/Pyatts in Idaho as follows:

This family was on page 214D near the Thomas Pyatt family. The William and Walter Pyatt are sons of Thomas' brother, Corydon Pyatt. Undoubtedly, the Yearians are the ones that were closely tied to Thomas' mother, Elizabeth. Could this Elizabeth Yearian above be the reason that Elizabeth Stewart Pyatt is thought by some to be Elizabeth Yearian?
