William J and Lillie Mingus Pyatt

William J Pyatt was born in July 1869 in Wright County, Missouri, to Joseph A and Jane Allen Pyatt. He married (probably in Wright County, Missouri) after 1910, Lillie Mingus, who was born c1874 in Missouri to Ezekial and Mary Mingus.

There are no known children of William and Lillie Pyatt.

William appeared with his parents through the 1880 census of Wright County, Missouri. On that same census 'Rusha B Mingus' (who later married William's brother, Thomas) appeared on the same page with her family. That family included her grandmothers, Sarah Mingus age 75 and Mary Bradshaw aged 65. There were also three other Bradshaw families on the same page with the Pyatts and Mingus'. In Wright County, Missouri, will and estate records can be found the estate of J. P. Bradshaw, who died intestate. The Administratrix was Mariam C. Bradshaw. Securities were E. A. Mingus, James Connally and J. A. Pyatt (21-22) 8 Nov 1864. So, evidently, the Pyatts, Bradshaws and Mingus' were neighbors and relatives.

William appeared with his brother, Thomas, and family on the 1900 census of Boone Township, Wright County, Missouri, as follows: Pyatt, Thom B born Jun 1864 in MO / 35 on last bday / wm / married for 6 yrs / farmer / father/mother born NC Pyatt, Ruth B (wife) born Dec 1874 in MO / 25 on last bday / wf / married 6 yrs / 1 child/1 living father/mother born NC Pyatt, Evert (son) born Nov 1895 in MO / 4 on last bday / wm / single / father/mother born MO Pyatt, Jane (mother) born Mar 1834 in NC / 66 on last bday / wf / widowed / 1 child/1 living / father/mother born Unk Pyatt, Wm J (brother) born Jul 1869 in MO / 30 on last bday / wm / single / father/mother born NC

This family was enumerated #114/117 pg 110B 714/144/6/57 (Ancestry.com image 12/23). Note that William's mother also lived with the family.

On the 1910 census of Ward 2, Finley Township, Webster County, Missouri, William appeared as follows:

  • Pyatt, William age 40 born MO / wm / single / cashier / band / father/mother born NC

He was living in a boarding house with the Mashburn family and other boarders. His brother, Thomas, and family were still living in Wright County, Missouri.

By the 1920 census, William had married and appeared as follows in Boone Township, Wright County, Missouri:

This family was enumerated #185/196 pg 99A 17 Jan 1930 129/142/9/48 - probably in Hartville. Thomas and family appeared on page 6B #129.

By the 1930 census of Boone Township, Wright County, Missouri, they appeared as follows:

This family was enumerated #137/137 Apr 1930 (Ancestry.com image 11/24). William's brother, Thomas, was at #160/162 pg 83. Their cousin, John R Pyatt, and other scattered family members also lived in close proximity.
