He was almost 27 years old when he married on August 3, 1851, in Perry County, Illinois, Elizabeth B Hay Disney who was the widow of Dennis Disney born c1828 in Virginia. The marriage license was for 'William Pyatt' and 'Mrs. Elizabeth B Disney' (vol 2 pg 28). Elizabeth Hay married Dennis Disney in 1847 in Hancock County, Illinois.
Elizabeth appeared as follows with her first husband on the 1850 census of Shocokon, Henderson County, Illinois:
Apparently, Elizabeth had no children with Dennis. William was still living with his parents in Perry County, Illinois, at this time. By the 1860 census DuQuoin P O (T6SR1W) of Perry County, Illinois, the family appeared as follows:
This couple was enumerated #1163/1163 on 7th July 1860 on page 162 (ancestry image 164/246). Also living in Perry County was William's widowed mother and most of his siblings.
I searched a variety of ways on the 1870 census database at Ancestry.com with no success.
William had died by the 1880 census when I found the widowed Elizabeth living in DeQuoin, Perry County, Illinois:
