How did the CARs' policy specialists assess the different "models of
development" for
their republics? They were asked the following questions: "What 'models
of development' are
most appropriate for your republic?" A survey study, conducted in three
Central Asian
republics, namely Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, found that
the respondents responded
in the following way.
