Yes, The Fish Page really is all about having fun, but as always, there's a serious side to all things. You might already know this, but the Christian symbol is a fish. Well, I'm a Christian, and I think It'd be a shame if I didn't take my chance to share exactly what I believe.
You see, the Bible tells us that we've all sinned, and that our sins condemn us to Hell, which is a place of everlasting punishment and suffering. It tells us that because of our sin, we are automatically headed for Hell. That's bad news, but it gets worse: The Bible also tells us that we cannot do anything to save ourselves. None of our good works can possibly make us good enough, because God demands perfection. God loves us, and doesn't want to punish us, but he must. That's why it makes him sad each time we sin.
But here's the good news: God loved us so much, that he found a way to redeem us, and get us back into Heaven. It would be very costly, though. He would come to earth, and take on a human body. His name was Jesus. While on earth, he lived a perfect life. Then, he allowed himself to be killed, willingly. In His death, he took the punishment for our sins, and went to Hell in our place. He didn't have to die -- He was
blameless; He was God. He died because He loved you and me so much, that He would go to any cost to have our fellowship in Heaven. But there's more good news: Three days after he died, he rose from the dead. He was and is God, and not even death could defeat Him. He ascended into Heaven, where he is now.
Jesus has already taken your punishment, so you don't have to. All you have to do is accept what He's done for you and make Him lord of your life. A prayer will not save you from Hell, unless it is the true expression from your heart. Pray something like this:
Jesus, I know that I'm a sinner, and that I'm going to Hell. I know that nothing I can do can ever save me from Hell. But Jesus, I believe that you died in my place, and that you took my punishment so I don't have to go to Hell. I now accept your free gift of salvation from Hell, and want to make you Lord of my life. Thank you for loving me. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, and it was the tru expression of your heart, then you've accepted Christ's gift of salvation, and asked Him to be the lord of your life. There's even more good news for you! Jesus said that one day, he would come again and take all those who believed on him back to Heaven. Please, find a bible-believing church, and become a part of it! Never forget, Jesus loves you!
