A Clown Teared Day
On the corner, by the streetlamp,
Stood a clown with a broad bright smile upon his face.
Everyday, as any other he stood, to bring a smile to you and me,
Never leaving his regular place.
But today he stood in the rain his make-up streaking down like a thousands tears
Not showing that on the inside the make-up of his fears.
You see he knew he could make you smile with little effort and or ease,
But in the rain no one came his way to see his tears, no one could he please.
So faithfully he stood, hoping soon that the rain clouds would humbly break
Letting thru the sun drying off the terrible tear tracks of his mistake.
For today even in the rain, real tears came from eyes of blue
He mistook his liquid face paint for a bottle of Elmer's Glue.
