Petals of Love
My garden has roses, a soft pink is just one
It has no leaves on its bush, just flowers glittering in the sun
It's been trimmed to near disaster, but blooms it's very best
The limbs of old and new giving more than some of the rest
Another plant is a climbing red, with many buds, only half in bloom
Climbing its trellis with power, seeking to find more room
The roses it has are brilliantly displayed, woven through arms of glory
Red roses with thorns, reaching for sky, begging to tell a love story
Small whites come next, already giving up their splendor and smells
But, new buds can be found, looking like upside down bells
With new leaves blowing in the wind
The white buds fighting not to bend
Then the king of this pride is my yellow rose
Currently busting in glorious bloom
Watching the others show there envy
Wishing the yellow a serious doom
But it's showing why it's strutting like it's the boss
With new roses in bloom, with minimal loss
And limbs full of new buds and leaves in colorful haze
The Yellow Rose is the brightest in my garden, giving of its beautiful blaze.
