Next Scholastic Event: May 5th at the Ramada Inn in Batesville.  You will receive a national rating in this tournament so US Chess Federation membership is required.  USCF membership is $13 for those 14 and younger and $20 for those 15 to 19. You can join USCF at the tournament if you're not a member.   If you are already a USCF member then Arkansas Chess Association dues are required ($5 for youth).  If you are a member of USCF and ACA then the entry fee is $5.  Registration is 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. - the first round begins at 9:30 a.m.  This will be a 5 round swiss.  Sponsors: Independence County 4-H and Southside High School Chess Club.  Call the Extension Office (793-8840) or David Clark (251-2662) if you have questions.                     See below for results from the last tournament.
