First, I would like to re-introduce myself. Now, I know you did not come to this site to hear about me! I sincerely hope the fans are not out to fight like they were about 10 years ago! But, there were so many wonderful friends I got to know well online back then! So, I feel it is only fair to let you all know what is going on!
My name is Betsy Kendrick, & I am from Macon, Georgia. I started creating this site back in 1996. It was actually an award winning website back in the day. I worked really hard on it for a few years. I had no experience with website creation & we did not have all of the easy options that are available online today - the fast & easy sites where you do not even have to know html! Back then, I was copying & pasting every little bit of information I could find to help me get the html right! It was pretty cool for awhile, but I honestly ran into some extremely hard times in my personaly life. After about 5 years of non-stop working on it, I had to let it go for awhile. Now, I realize it looks so "sad" in comparison to the absolutely excellent websites online today! I had attempted to get on here & update so many times through the years, but I finally figured out my very old login info just now & here I am! Miracles do happen!
I feel like Axl was a big part of my life! My son, Skot, was only a little guy when I worked many long hours on this site years ago! Now he is 16 years old! He was born & raised on GNR! When he met Axl - I think he was only 7 years old! You would not believe him now!
I really do feel bad that so many people think I neglected my site & basically "split" on Axl & fans! But, I ask you to please accept my apologies. You know? Life can throw any of us a few curve's, & I definitely received my share! It has been hard for me. I have been really busy working & dealing with many things that could have made anyone weary - or even give up!
Presently, I finally am owner of a cute brick home in Macon, GA that is all paid for & is all mine. I did get into counseling for quite awhile. (Some of you may recall when I was studying for that) I now take care of my elderly parents & try to provide them with as comfortable of a life as is possible since they both have very serious medical problems & are in their 80's.
I realize that so much time has gone by, SO many things have changed, and it appeared I had vanished from the face of this earth! I am so sorry! Believe me - I never forgot our Axl Rose! I am still a huge fan, and I still hold the memories in my heart of when I was invited for a weekend at his home in Malibu! Oh, what a special feeling that gave me for years! What is so interesting is that I STILL continue to get loads of email from fans! The only real difference I have noticed when I am able to get back into my old email box - axlette1@hotmail.com - is that many of the newer fans are from other countries? I know he has toured outside of USA & people all over the world love & adore him! How cool after all these years! Axl has managed to become one of the most respected, idolized rockstars ever in history!
I think back - 20 years ago! Wow! I was watching GNR on MTV all the time! We were all 20+ years younger. And, many of the newer fans were not even born, or were very young kids! Axl stood the test of time! He has left his footprints in all of our hearts! I don't care who you are - you have heard of Axl Rose!
AXL ROSE BOARD FORUM! The most loyal & loving fans online! Update: I checked it out today - 12/2/07 - and, I see most of you have gradually left & probably gone elsewhere. I certainly do understand. But, let me please thank you fans who spent many long hours moderating this board/forum! You will never kmnow what a special place you have in my heart!
