The Davis Family

I do not know that these two ladies are related, though it is a distinct possibility due to the close proximity of their graves. If so, I would guess that Eliza was the mother of Etta.

The headstone inscription and newspaper notice are the only pieces of information that I have to date on Mrs. J.C. Davis. I will be doing some looking at the 1910 census records, etc. to see if I can locate a family by this name in Baxter or Fulton County, Arkansas. It has been suggested that J. C. and Etta Davis might have been the parents of Eugenia Davis who married John W Wells and William McBride Teverbaugh as that Eugenia had a son named J. C.

According to the August 12, 1910, issue of the "Baxter Bulletin": Mrs. J. C. Davis died Tuesday and the remains were conveyed to Flutey Chapel (from the Bakersfield News).
