Mother's Day- News Times

In conjunction with Mother's Day, the News-Times is inviting students in the 3rd thru 6thg rade to express their thoughts about their mothers, stepmothers, or foster mothers, grandmothers or any woman who has been like a mother to them.

THEME: "What makes your mom special to you? Why is she the greatest?"

IDEAS: Have your child write about what they like about their moms, a favorite thing that they do with them, a special day or time that they shared, or something she has given them that they will always remember and cherish.

LENGTH: No more than 75 words.

News-Times will run as many as they have space to run. They reserve the right to edit as necessary.

DEADLINE: Mail or give to Tina George by April 25th.

The child's name, grade, age, and school should be clearly printed on the back of each essay.

We are driving to Camden and touring
the Chidester House, Graham Betts Home, log homes,

eating lunch at Poison Springs park,
and then touring the confederate cemetery.


The costs to tour two of the homes is

$1.00 per person - per home.

Please have the exact amount ready to allow things

to run a bit smoother when paying to enter.
