Fantastic Fridays!
We held our first Fantastic Friday on the 3rd and had a very good turn out. The children were separated by grades and sent into the different classes.
The Home Ec class discussed the use of different measuring cups and spoons and the importance of following directions. They baked Fudge Brownies and Blueberry Muffins. All goodies prepared during Home Ec are served as refreshments afterwards.
Alma Joy McCann taught the Civil War class. She taught about Abraham Lincoln, the Gettysburg Address, slavery and discussed the differences of North and South.
Cindy Bradley taught the Sign Language. The children had such a good time learning the alphabet, spelling their name and other words, and made up sign names for themselves.
I peeked in on both of these classes and saw that the children were paying close attention and were very interested in learning. (I noticed this with some of the mom's too!)
