Midnight Hour

Midnight's when I think of you
within the misty hue.
The stars twinkling above,
I see your face within the moon.
Planets flickering unto the end of time.
Remembering those days together,
but, now they're gone.
You loved me well
and, oh, so sweet.
All you did was please.
Who could ever take your place?
As you watch me from another place.
It was the midnight hour
when I saw you sitting by my side,
and I was so surprised.
Your loving warmth did touch me,
and did caress.
But, I forgot that
you were dead.
I knew someday
that you would fly away
and leave me sad.
The midnight hour is for
witches and Halloween,
but it's my hour of Serenity.
It's a special time for me
when I talk to you,
about all things that
make me blue.
Have you seen my tears,
my grief, and pain,
because I can never see
your eyes again?
Memories never fading
into the midnight hour,
for you are still alive tonight
as you were then.
Oh, the midnight sun shines
through my window pane,
to gently touch the tears
when they fall.
You are not so very far
as I recall all.
There's never been another
who loved me any better
than your love.
The angels have you now.
Please let me fly away
someday, to be
at your side again.
Our love will never end.
I know you'll come for me,
someday, and kiss my lips
upon the midnight hour.
We'll dance upon a star
upon the midnight hour.
