Let's Get Started

1. Select one of the flag tubes in the zip I used Flag A. Which is what all the instructions will be written for in this tutorial. The only difference in A & B is there is only one layer on B and I will put the instructions for filling that flag below Flag A instructions.
2. With Flag A open in PSP go to layer palette high light layer 1 the flag part.
3. Go to Selections>Select all. Selections>Float.
4. Open the graphic (in the zip) of the blue stars and red and white stripes. Go to your top style box and select Pattern>Choose your graphic from above and flood fill your ants. Make sure the bottom style box is set to Null before flooding. Note: Flag B you would use your rope tool and select the flag part only go to Selections>Float and flood fill the same way. On flag B go to Selections>Float
5. Go to Selections>3D Effects>Cut Out

SETTINGS:
V & H 5

Click OK
Deselect The Ants

6. Flag A go to the Layer Palette High Light Layer 2 to make it active.
7. Go to Selections>Select All. Selections>Float.
8. In the top Style color box select solid color I used light gray #808080. NOTE: Flag B You would do the same as you did for the flag use your rope tool to select your pole and continue with the same steps from this point on after applying the gray color.
9. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Cut Out use the same settings as in Step Six.
10. Go to Effects>3D Effects Inner Bevel.

Settings:
Select the pewter preset that was in zip file.
Deselect the Ants.

11. This is Flag A go to Layers>Arrange>Move Down. With the mover tool move your pole over and under your flag. Note: Flag B you would just apply the settings above and deselect your ants.
12. Flag A go to the Layer Palette make sure top layer is high lighted so it is active.
13. Now you will start applying your tubes and I applied them all the same.
14. Open the boy tube go to Edit>Copy.

16. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow.

17. The next tube I added Fire Work Flare and all in the same manner and the same drop shadow settings except for Color I selected white for the drop shadow the black was way to dark for the flare. Add the ribbon tube now with the same settings.
18. Now we are going to fill the part behind the boy before we proceed. Go to the Layer Palette select Layer 1 your flag part only.
