Square, Circle, Square Again Frame

Intermediate High Level

I love the effect of square and circle frames and this brought it all into one.


What you will need to do this tutorial:

Some knowledge of PSP tools

1. PSP 7
2. The tubes, graphic, and mask I used for this tutorial please unzip and have open in PSP.

6. Shadow Mist 9 Preset For Blade Pro.

Please Unzip and download to your environment and texture folder in Blade Pro.
7. Shiny Gold Preset.

Let's Get Started

1. Open the image you want to use. Make a duplicate of it and close the original graphic
2. Go to Layers>New Rastar click Ok
3. Go to top style color palette select solid>white
4. Click on your flood fill tool and flood the new Rastar layer
5. Go to Masks>Load From Disk>Select SNFrame30.msk
6. Go to Masks>Delete and answer YES to the pop up question
7. Go to Effects>Plug Ins>Flaming Pear>Blade Pro select the Shadow Mist 9 Kaptreacletoffee.q9q click Ok
8. Go to Image>Resize and use the Pixel Size and make sure no number in either box is larger than 300 at the bottom make sure you have check marks in Resize all Layers and Maintain aspect ratio of: click Ok
9. You may want to sharpen your image at this time I didn't but if the one you are working on looks a little fuzzy go to Effects>Sharpen>Sharpen
10. In the bottom Style Color Palette Box select Solid Color>White
11. Go to Image Add Border>Symettric checked size 10
12. With the Magic Wand select the white border around your graphic
13. Go to Effects>Plug Ins>Flaming Pear>Blade Pro and use the same preset you used in Step 7
14. Go to Selections>Invert
15. Go to Selections>Float
16. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Cut Out Settings:

Vertical & Horizontal 2
Opacity 60
Blur 20
Color Black
Click Ok

17. Repeat Step 16 and this time change the Vertical and Horizontal to Minus-2. Click Ok
18. Deselect your ants go to Selections>Select None.
19. Go to Image>Add Border>Symettric Checked Size 20 Click Ok
20. Select the white border with the Magic Wand
21. Go to Effects>Plug Ins>Simple>Diamonds
22. Go to Effects>Plug Ins>Simple>Pizza Slice
23. Go to Effects>Plug Ins>Simple>Diamonds
24. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel Settings:

Choose the Pillow Preset if you don't have it below is the settings to achieve the inner bevel:

25. With ants still marching go to Effects>Geometric Effects>Circle
26. Deselect your ants Selections>Select None
27. Go to Layers>New Rastar Layer>Click Ok
28. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Cut Out settings same as in Step 16
29. Go to Layers>Merge>All Flatten
30. Making sure you have solid color white in the bottom style color box. Go to Image>Add Border>Symettric Size 10
31. With Magic Wand select the white border and apply the same blade pro preset you have used through this whole tutorial
32. Deselect the ants Selections>Select None
33. Go to Image>Add Border>Symettric Size 20
34. Select the white border with the Magic Wand
35. At this point we are going to repeat steps 21 through 24
36. Deselect the ants Selections>Select None
37. Go to Image>Add Border>Symettric Size 10
38. Apply the same blade pro preset that has been used through this whole tutorial
39. Go to Selections>Invert
40. Go to Selections>Float
41. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Cut Out settings same as in step 16
42. Deselect the ants Selections>Select None
43. Go to Image>Resize. Resize just as was done in Step 8
44. You may want to sharpen at this time I didn't but in case you chose to do so go to Effects>Sharpen>Sharpen
45. Now it is time to use any tubes you would like to put on the image. Not the corners but the others. You will copy and paste each tube as a new layer onto the working image. After completing that go to the next step
46. Add a drop shadow to each tube you may do it as you go or after you have added all your tubes
47. Go to Effects>Plug Ins>Eye Candy 3.0>Drop Shadow settings:

Direction 180
Distance 7
Blur 2
Opacity 41
Color Black
Click on the Check Mark

48. Open up the corner tube that has been provided copy and paste it as a new layer and move it to the upper left hand corner. 49. Go to Effects>Plug Ins>Flaming Pear>Blade Pro use Gold-Shiny.q9q preset
50. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow settings:

Vertical and Horizontal 2
Opacity 50
Blur 2
Color Black
Click Ok

51. Go to Selections>Select None deselect the ants
52. Go to Layers>Duplicate
53. Go to Image>Mirror now you should have a corner in each top corner
54. Go to Layers>Duplicate
55. Go to Image>Flip
56. Go to Layers>Duplicate
57. Go to Image>Mirror
58. If the corners are on top of a tube then go to the layer palette and move the corner below the tube layer
59. Go to Layers>Merge>All Flatten
