X-Stich Crazy

I love to X-Stitch and I was going through my plug ins and out popped the one I used in this tutorial. I love the effect and it is very easy to use. Hope you enjoy doing this one.


You will need:
Paint Shop Pro 7 or 6
"v" KiwisOelfilter

Pattern I used for frame is below



Let's Get Started:

1. Open a 300x300 transparent image.

2. In your top style box select solid color and choose a color you want to flood fill your background X-Stitch with. I used #D7C79B
3. Click on your flood fill tool and flood fill your transparent image.
4.Go to Effects>Plug ins>"v" KiwisOelfilter>Leinward

Here are the settings:


5. Select a tube you want to put on your background. Go to Edit>Copy.

6. Click on your background and go to Edit>Paste>As A New Layer. If you need to resize please do so now. Go to Image>Resize. Click on the Percentage>Type in 75 make sure resize all layers at the bottom is not checked. Click OK. Below is a graphic to show you:


7. Go to Effects>Sharpen>Sharpen so your tube will look clearer.

8. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow Setting:


9. Go to Effects>Plug Ins>"v" KiwisOelfilter>Leinward use the same settings as before in Step 4.

10. If you want to add any more tubes at this time please do so now following Steps 5 through 10. You should have all your tubes applied on your X-Stitch background. We will now make our frame.

11. In the bottom style box please select solid color and solid is white.

12. Go to Image>Add Borders settings:


13. Click on the Magic Wand Settings:

Match Mode

RGB Value

Tolerance 0

Feather 0

No Check Mark in Sample Merged

14. Click on the White Border to get marching ants.
p align="center"> 15. In your top style box select a solid one of your choosing. It will be the first frame around your image.

16. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel Setting:

Deselect Your Ants

17. Go To Image>Add Borders Settings:


18. Click on the border with your magic wand to get marching ants.

19. In your top style box please select another solid color you would to go around the first frame.

20. With the Flood Fill tool fill the marching ants.

21. Go to Effects>Texture Effects>Blinds Settings:


Click OK

Deselect Your Ants.

22. Make sure your solid style box is solid white. Go to Image>Add Borders Settings:


23. Click on the Magic Wand and click on the white border. Go to your top style box and cick on the pattern selection. Click so you get the pop up box. Click on the arrow and select pattern you want to use.

24. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel. Use the same settings as in Step 16.

25. Go to Image>Resize use the settings below:


Sharpen>Sharpen.

You have completed your X Stitch Tag you may add anything you would like to it.
