Final Fantasy VII Codes
Here are some FFVII Codes.
Piano Trick
First have Tifa in your party. Then go to Nibelheim & enter Tifas house. Go upstairs into Tifas room (the one with the piano in it) Choose the bottom option, then the bottom option again to play it (you can't use the top option if you want the manual). Then, press:X, S,T L1+T, L1+S, X, S, T, L1+X, O, X,S, X or D, L, U, L1+T, L1+S, D, L, U, L1+X, R, D, L, D. The result of playing the piano is random. Sometimes, nothing happens, other times, you'll find 1 gil, and other times, you'll find Tifa's Level 4 Limit Break Manual.
The sleeping man
Get over 100 wins by fighting battles. To see how many wins you have, get in the Buggy (this is better so you get it before Aeris dies plus you can do it in the 1st disk),Highwind or ride a Green, Blue, Black, or Gold Chocobo (2nd or 3rd disk) ever so slightly south and a little ways to the east of Midgar City, where you'll find a cave surrounded by mountains with a river nearby (go south down the river in the buggy). Inside the cave is a sleeping fellow who (usually) tells you how many wins you've gotten so far. Not only do you need to have over 100 wins, but the last two digits have to be the same (100, 111, 255, 733, etc.) When you have the correct number of victories, talk to the sleeping man. He'll toss and turn, then give you an item (Mythril). Next, go to the house on the penninsula near the Gold Saucer (you should recognize it since it's full of weapons inside). Talk to the man in the house, and when he gives you a choice, pick the top option. You'll lose the Mythril, but you now have the choice of opening the long wooden chest by the bed to get a Gold Armlet, or examining the metal lid on the upper floor at the end of the walkway to get the manual for Aeris's Level 4 Limit Break.
The safe in Nibelheim
RIGHT TO 36, LEFT TO 10, RIGHT TO 59, RIGHT TO 97 REMEMBER this is just like a REAL combonation lock. So, when you're turning to 36, you can either land on it or creep up to it, but you can't hit 37 and go back. This applies to the rest of the digits, too; you can't go farther than the number you want. If you do (i.e. you go to 09 when trying to get to 10), you'll have to start all over again. This means that you hold right and scroll through the numbers, then hold left until you reach 10, then hold right for the last two numbers. Don't forget to press O to verify each entry. When the safe opens, a Summon Materia (Odin) pops out, and you are assaulted by a monster. When you beat the monster you get a gold key (look in the safe)& Red 13's limit break manual (Cosmo Memory)
Always run from battles
You will instantly flee a battle if at least one character is petrified, stopped, or paralyzed while in the running pose. So as long as you are not fighting a boss or have been ambushed, you can always escape simply by letting the enemy do one of the above attacks to you, or by doing it to yourself (via Spell Materia)! This is also useful if all your members are paralyzed, stopped, or whatever, and your last character is about to suffer a similar fate. Simply try to run away (even if you can't), and you'll escape the moment you are hit by the attack. The only exception to this trick is that if you are petrified and your other teammates are dead or petrified, then you will always lose. This trick doesn't work on boss battles.
Special Battle
To get to the special battle in the Battle Arena, first gain 64000 battle points and buy the W-Summon materia. Next get 32,000 battle points and buy Cloud's level 4 limit, Omnislash. Equip Omnislash and talk to the lady at the counter in the battle arena, and she will ask you if you want to participate in a special battle. Beat all 8 enemies and get the Final attack materia. Note: You must have your Ultimate Weapon equiped to fight in the special battle.
Cast Any Spell Three Times
To cast three magic spells in one round, first equip someone with a Magic Materia + "All" Support Materia. You'll also need Barrier Materia with the Reflect spell learned. When you enter battle, cast Reflect on the entire party, (your party). Then cast the magic spell that was connected to the "All" Materia on YOUR party. Even though you casted the spell once, it will be reflected and returned to the enemy hitting for three times! And for the same price of the usual MP's. What's even better is that if you have W-Magic, you can cast that spell twice, or two different spells (both need to be connected to "All" Materia) hitting for six times!
Tropical Getaway
At Costa del Sol there's a real estate agent selling President Shinra's vacation home for 300,000 Gil. There is not much to do with the place except get a free rest. There is some free items in the basement, but you can get them without buying the home.
Turtle Paradise Flyers
There are several flyers for Turtle Paradise hidden in this game. #1 is in sector 5 inside the house on the east upstairs, #2 is in the Shinra building on the 1st floor in the back, #3 Ghost Hotel in the Gold Saucer next to the entrance of the item shop, #4 Cosmo Canyon next to the Tiger Lily Arms Shop, #5 Cosmo Canyon Hotel, #6 Yuffie's house in the basement. When you have all those fliers go to the restaurant in Wtai. Enter the restaurant and you will receive a Power Source, Guard Source, Magic Source, Mind Source, Speed Source, Luck Source & Megalixir.
Reset Game
Hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Select + Start to reset the game.
Re-Enter Midgar
It is possible to get back into Midgar after you have left (not including by parachute.) On disc 2 or 3, go back to Midgar and talk to the man standing outside the gate. He says he has misplaced his key and that it is probably back at the dig site he just left. To find the key, go to Bone Village and tell the foreman you want to look for Normal Treasure. While you could place diggers and hunt for the Key yourself, if you want to cheat, go over to the destroyed plane atop the dinosaur's skull. See the one excavtor near the bottom of the screen? Near him is a tiny piece of metal sticking outwards; position yourself underneath it and press up so that your character is looking forward, then dig. In the morning open the treasure chest and you should have the Key to the Sector 5 Slums.
Prevent Back Attacks
If your battle starts with a "Back Attack" hold L1 and R1 for a momenthen release them. This will turn you around before your opponents get a shot.
Fast Materia Level-Ups
This cheat can only be done in the third disc. First, go to the Northern cave and look for mole like creatures with a star above thier heads, also holding a knife and a lantern. Steal an elixir from them and then run away. After that, look for these small creatures in a floating pot. They will say "Gimme' an elixer". Give them one. Then kill it. Each one killed will give you 1,000 AP. You can not kill them unless you give them an elixer.
Effortless GP Gain
To do this trick, you need a joystick controller with rapid-fire settings and access to the Gold Saucer. Go to Wonder Square, and up to the arm-wrestling game. Wrap a rubberband around your joystick so that it's pulled to the upper left diagonal, so that Cloud continuously walks into the arm-wrestling machine but not into the GP-trading girl. Now, turn on the rapid-fire for the 'O' button. Cloud will now repeatedly challenge and beat the wrestling game. Slowly but surely, your GP will increase. It takes a while, so it's probably best to set this up just before you go to bed at night, and leave it on while you sleep. By morning, you should have plenty of GP to buy your Gold Pass and the two secret Materia: XP-Plus and Gil-Plus.
Easy AP
Go to the forest outside of Meedeel. Walk around until you fight Head Hunters or Caterpillers. Equip Cloud with an Apocalipse sword and everyone with a Rune Armlet. If you fight a group of 4 Head Hunters you get 340 AP. Caterpillers and a group of 3 Head Hunters give you 240 AP.Equip as many 'ALL' and 'MAGIC PLUS' materia a possible in the sword and Rune Armlet. When mastered they are worth 1.4 million gil each.
Cait Sith's Level 3 Limit Break
Cait Sith has a level 3 limit break which will kill all enemies in one hit. This is tested and proven in the Japanese FFVII. To get it, you must use Cait Sith to kill 954 enemies. The Level 3 limit should be highlighted, but there will be no name. For activation, it will take about 36 times your HP damage. It will look like an error, because it is, but when activated, an error message will appear and the battle will continue as if the enemy was killed in one hit.
President King
At the Hunny Bee Inn (in the Wall Market) peek into the Queens room. There is a guy dressed up as a king talking about the Promised Land. Well, this "King" is actually the one & only Pres. Shinra!
Eligor
In the train graveyard wonder around a bit. Soon enough you'll run into Eligor (it looks like a man & a horse). Eligor is NOT in the official FF7 guide book! Sence him to see what his stats are. You can steal Aeris Striking Staff from him, it is her best weapon for that part of the game.
Hidden Cait Sith
At the Hunny Bee Inn (in the Wall Market), Peek into the Lovers Room. Look to the far right & you will see a tiny Cait Sith jumping up & down. The elderly people in the room are Cait Siths parents (well the person who controls Cait Sith).
Lots of fights
When you jump off the train on your way to sector 2, head south instead of north. Keep walking south until you come to some guards. Apprach the guards & fight them. After you fight them more guards come. You have the option to run away or fight. There is no end to the guards so you can keep fighting them until you get board. This is a GREAT way to raise your levels.
Kill the weapons without dying
To kill the last weaopon in the middle of the ocean, you must first collect final attack materia from the chocobo races. if you add this with summon Phoenix, once he releases the attack that always klls you, no matter how strong you are, you will just get back up and cure yourself automaticaly.
Mime Limit Breaks
First, enter a battle. When one of your characters limit bar is full, perform the limit. On the next two characters commands, choose Mime. These two characters cannot mime the limit!Once the commands appear for the character you originally did the limit with choose Mime once again. Now you can do a limit when the limit bar isn't full!!!
NOTE: You must have Mime and two Master command Materias.
The hole at the Gold Saucer
When in the Gold Saucer underground prison, if you want, you can go to a hole in the ground and climb down a ladder. Once down there, there is an empty treasure chest, ignore that and run around for about 2-3 min. max. After a while, you will fight a battle, the guys you fight will give you tons of experience, GP, AP, everything, and they almost never fight back. The catch is that they have a lot of HP and it takes about 5-10 min. to defeat one of them.
Unreachable item at Kalm
While in the Kalm inn go to the cabinet with the unreachable item and open it 5 times in a row.Cloud will finally swear and kick the cabinet so the item falls out.The item is a Megalixir.
Tower Window
If you go up the tower in the third house from the left in Kalm (the one with the circlular stairs), you can go to the window and look outside. Not much of a view but it is pretty neat.
Phoenix Downs & Secret Cave
On the way to Coral, go by the switch that you push to let the others go through. If you explore around that area, you should hear birds chirping. Go up the hill where you hear it (you might have to search to find the right spot). You'll see little baby birds and they are on top of 10 Phoenix Downs. You can leave them there or take them.Go back down to the lower tracks and follow your partners. As they turn to the right, you need to take the left split because buried in the hill under the tracks is a cave with an out-of-work miner. A Power Source, Mind Source, and Tent may be acquired within this hidden area.
Beat the Cosmo Canyon Boss Easily
When you get to the Boss inside the caves at Cosmo Canyon to beat him all you do is use a Phoenix Down or X-Potion on him to kill him instantly. Sometimes that misses so you might want to use other healing items like X-Potion, High Potion or Potion.
Beta Enemy Skill
Getting the Beta enemy skill in the first disk. When you first go to the Chocobo ranch you have to catch a chocobo to avoid the Midgarsorm. Well, I figured out a way to get the powerful Beta spell before the second disc. You need the Enemy skill materia, a Fire materia, and any elemental materia equipped on one person. MAKE SURE THE LAST TWO ARE ON YOUR ARMOR! If you keep this character healed until Midgarsorm casts Beta you SHOULD be able to survive the spell. Then just finish him off. This is tricky to pull off but if done correctly you will be set for a LONG time.
Virtual Immortality
Connect the Phoenix Summon and Final Attack materia in any linked slot. When your party dies, there Hitpoints will be completely restored. This makes killing Ruby, Emerald, and Sephiroth simple, just make sure you have enough MP to use the Phoenix Summon. For more punch, add a Final Attack/Knight oo the Round Table to the same weapon. Then when you die you'll resurrect and hit back HARD.
Lots of Ribbons
To get a ribbon you must go into the crater and walk around until You fight a Master Tonberry. Attack him a few times and then morph him. He will turn into a Ribbon.
Recover Missing Items
Did you miss something important? Fear not. Once you get to disc 3 you can recover anything by excavating for it in the Bone Village.
Red Submarine
The first time you pilot a submarine, lose the battle and you will wind up on the shore neer Junon Harbor. Head back into Junon Harbor and ride the elevator back inside the main complex. Make a left turn and go back to the sub docking area where you were before the sub battle. Two gaurds and a dog are blocking the pathway, kill the gaurds and talk to the dog. Follow it and you will find the Red Submarine.
Quad Magic Without a Chocobo
Use High Wind to go to Mideel. Go north, and you should find a little cliff (looks more like a staircase). On the edge, get on the higher side of the cliff and press X to go down, also pressing the square button and left. After a few tries, the high wind will stay on the cliff but the character will be on the lower side. Now you can walk to the materia cave on land, without a special chocobo.
Easy Money
If you want virtually unlimited money, here is a wonderful trick. As soon as you have mastered an "All" mateira, remove it and replace it with the new born one and sell the old one. This may seem like kind of a harsh comprimise, but each mastered "All" is 1.4 million gil! and scince they are so easy to master you will keep geting more and will never miss them. Sell one or two and you will never run out of money ever again!
Morph Enemies Easily
For an easy way to morph enemies, have W-Magic Materia, Gravity Materia + "All" Materia, and Morph Materia. Have someone else cast Reflect on the party, then have the person with W-Magic use Demi 3 on your party twice. It will reflect and hit the enemy six times without killing it, but will greatly reduce it's HP's. At this point, you can easily morph it.
Getting Chocobuckle
This is one of the most difficult Enemy Skills to get. First, buy 3 Mimett Greens at the Chocobo Ranch, then get in a battle w/ a chocobo involved in it. Sense the chocobo, and if his level is a multiple of 4, feed him the 3 greens, then hit him with Level 4 Suicide. He'll then counter w/ Chocobuckle.
Getting Alexander Materia
To get these powerful materia, you have to be ready to snowboard at Icicle Inn. When there are forks in the road, always go right. When you land, go northeast. When you can choose your direction again, go northeast. You'll pass through 2 screens. When you exit those screens, cross the small path. On both sides of you will be the hot springs. Go down to them and dip your hands in it. Continue the path from the hot springs until you get to the blizzard area. Once there, head north for about 5 seconds, then head east until you exit the blizzard area. From there, head east for 3 screens and once east is no longer a possibility, choose south. You'll see a path that heads north w/ a cave at the top. Go into the cave and you'll talk to a witch named Snow. She doesn't like it that you touched the hot spring so she will fight you. Don't worry though, she's VERY easy, plus you get a pre-emptive attack! Just watch out for her Fascination attack. When you defeat her, she will give you Alexander.
Getting the Cursed Ring
When in Mideel, find the locked door. Walk around the corner, and a board will squeak. Examine the squeaky board, and you will find a key. Go back to the door, and answer the man's question truthfully, and the Cursed Ring is yours
Sense Tip
After using the SENSE materia on an opponent, press SELECT after the sensing is done. A little bar will appear above your party's status bars. If you choose to attack that opponent, it will show it's name, and HP remaining. Now you don't have to keep sensing bosses to see how much longer 'till their dead.
Unlimited Sources
Go to the sunken submarine under water, it is near Junon Harbor I think, to the right a little bit farther though, inside there are enemies you can morph into sources, such as Strength, Luck, Speed, Defense, Magic Defense, etc. Just keep doing this and you can make all your characters have big time boosted stats!
Get Sephiroth in your party
In Disc two at Junon Harbor, there are certain buildings with soldier dolls. A Blue one, and a red one. Find these two dolls, and go to the Game Center of the Gold Saucer. When you first go there, you will see two kids running to the enterance of the Games, and their father running after them, talk to the Dad, and he will ask you if you want Sephiroth now or later. Chose now, because he disappears sometime in Disc three. I've never tried this myself, but I guess it works...
NOTE: Sephiroth acts on his own(Supposingly).
