As all Turok games, they have a lot of features that will please your killing instinct need for blood. Turok 3 has more than 20 levels spanning five dark and menacing environments, including the ruins of a futuristic city, an underwater military base, and a return to the wild jungles of the Lost Lands. Gamers have the option of controlling two main characters while unlocking over 25 hidden game features. Save Anywhere and Autosave functions Fully interactive storyline to be portrayed through the use of both scripted in-game events and carefully detailed cinemas. 24 intricately modeled and animated weapons that are upgradable, including the Stealth Rifle, Eviscerator, and Inferno Cannon. More than 40 wild and ferocious enemies to stand in the way of Turok. Intense multiplayer action, featuring over 48 unique maps and 8 modes of play, including Blood Lust, Monkey Tag, Capture the Flag, and Color Tag. Fully orchestrated musical score and extensive use of digital speech. Turok 3 supports, but will not require use of the Expansion Pak. Now, without the use of the expansion pak, everyone probably thinks...So no graphics then huh? No special lighting effects like in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil? And may seem a little less eager to try it out, determined on these screenshots also. Playstation doesn't use any enhancer to improve their games graphics, sound, lighting, and so on. And take a look at Final Fantasy VIII for example. Great Sound, Graphics, everything. I think as each system progresses, they need less and less enhancers. There aren't as many games with the Controller Pak anymore, no because N64 games have more bytes now. I'm saying if Playstation can do it, so can Nintendo.
Now the story is a big deal in a game as well. Turok Dinosaur hunter was left plain, main objective, get keys in each level to open new levels. Turok 2, it got more better, once Tal Set had destoryed the Chronospecter, he unleasehed a new Evil, the Primiagen. Not only did you have to get keys, you had to complete other objectives as well, a little similar to GoldenEye. And now in Turok 3, the story is about a new and more powerful evil, Oblivion. The storyline for Turok 3: The Shadow of Oblivion picks up where Turok 2: Seeds of Evil left off when gamers were first introduced to "Oblivion." A monstrous cosmic entity that consumed everything in its path, Oblivion reigned before the birth of our world. Invading the bodies of the living and devouring them from the inside-out, Oblivion fed off of the very energy of the dead and dying. When the Primagen's Lightship was destroyed, the chain reaction triggered as a result was so powerful that the universe as it existed was completely eradicated, and the almighty Oblivion was pushed to the very brink of destruction. In this one fateful moment, the Lost Land was born, and for the first time, Oblivion felt pain, fear...and hatred. Though totally ravaged, Oblivion survived and now desperately seeks a means to punch through the Netherscape that separates our world from the Lost Land, and the Lost Land from countless others. The last shreds of the pure energy source that created our world and nearly wiped out Oblivion are contained within the Light Burden that every member of the Turok lineage has carried. The death of the Turok mantle will signal the beginning of the end... the rebirth of Oblivion.
Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion looks great. It's about 50% complete, which is most of the reason why the screenshots aren't all that good, but it will improve like always. Turok 2 screenshots in the Nintendo Power, for the first time, looked like crap! But in a Pak Watch a few months later, they looked awesome! The project release date for Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion is August 2000.
