Positive feedback about Poker
Run discussed; thanked everyone for a job well done.
Event reports were given
pertaining to rallies held by ABATE District 10, and the
Confederates M/C.
Large ABATE District 9
patches have arrived, and were made available for sale to
members @ $10 each. We also discussed quantity and
pricing for smaller, shoulder patches, approximately 4-1/8"
x 3". Once we have determined how many are
interested, we will place order for these as well.
Jay Brown reiterated that the
MSF Riding courses were taking place this weekend (May 6-7th),
and that all members, including those who have already
taken the course, should consider doing it again to
sharpen their skills for the upcoming riding season. He
also asserted that the cost of taking the course would be
basically reimbursed to participants through discounts on
their insurance.
Upcoming Bike Show discussed
in detail. Over 230 flyers sent out. Trophies have been
ordered. Demo bike rides will be offered by Yamaha Sports
Center (Txka), Askins Polaris (Txka), Steves
Outdoors/Honda (Magnolia), and, upon approval, trike
rides, by the Arkansas Trike Center (Clarksville). Trying
to line up similar from Harley-Davidson, possibly from
Shreveport, Monroe, or Texarkana, but none set up as yet.
Reps have also contributed items to be used for door
prizes at show. Advised members to check their Friday
edition of the Banner-News, which will have Magnolia
Blossom Festival insert with full-page feature on our
show. It was also suggested that we contact Ray Sullivent
again at the Coachmans Inn, and ask him to give us
some pub on his sign at the motel. Reviewed work schedule
for show, and asked for volunteers - filled schedule.
Handed out extra Bike Show flyers to be distributed at
gas stations, etc., in and out of town.
Bike Show T-shirts discussed.
Russell Rowe displayed design. Membership discussed
whether to go with red or blue graphics. MM&C to go
with blue for the design. Instructed Russell to order 8
dozen for sale to members and guests, at the show.
Doug Athey AGAIN won the 50-50
drawing (I smell a rat!)
Greeted new members Jaime
Covas & Connie Creech, and guests (who later signed
on as new members) Neal & Margaret Culver, from
Camden.
