Considering the fact that it was a cool 49 degrees for those riding in from out of town, we were extremely please with the turnout of 35 members and guests at our first annual "Ice Breaker" early-season get-together this last Saturday afternoon. It was also encouraging to find out that the pot-belly stove in our clubhouse was more than capable of heating up the entire room in very short order! We actually had one brave rider (Ovid Switzer) cruise in all the way from Crossett (75 miles) to make our little lunch-and-ride. There were also several from El Dorado (Jay Winchester, Tanya Hines, Tommy Nash), a couple from Texarkana (Tom Farina & gal Vicki), as well as local members and guests. Surprisingly, 16 riders opted to brave the chilly weather and head out on a 2-hour group ride to Poison Springs Park. Brrrrrrr! I understand that Tommy Nash had to have his hands pried from his grips :-) Several new members jumped on board the D9 express, and a number of others are very interested in joining. Everyone seemed to have a really good time. Pics from the event will be on display at the clubhouse at the next meeting for those who weren't able to make it out. Many thanks to all who did come out, and especially those from out of town......
Pics will be posted as the film is developed.
