2gether's Cuccione dies at 16

NEW YORK (AP) - Michael Cuccione, youngest of the five-member spoof boy band 2gether, has died at 16 in Vancouver from complications from Hodgkin's disease. "His lungs just gave out," his uncle, also named Michael Cuccione, told MTV News on Tuesday. "We weren't really expecting it."

Cuccione died Saturday in his hometown, eight days after his birthday, of complications from respiratory failure.

About Michael...

Michael was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease in 1994, at the age of 9. Michael survived 2 bouts with cancer and a bone marrow transplant. He wrote a book called "There Are Survivors" and released a CD called "Making A Difference". He also founded "The Michael Cuccione Foundation For Cancer Research." He was an active cancer fighter, an accomplished singer and actor, member of the pop quintet "2Ge+her" and will be greatly missed by everyone.

I send my regards to Michael's family and to all of his fans. Although Michael is not physically with us, his legacy will continue. Michael made a difference in so many people's lives, that he will never be forgotten. 2Ge+her (Together) we will be able to overcome this tragic event and move on. But as we do so, we will always remember the joy Michael brought and treasure the little time we did have with him.
