Time of Purging

During Dalthazar's final living days, he and the other members of the Council moved upon an issue that had been discussed even before Tazon's uprising. This was the purging of the certain magics that were considered far too dangerous for mortal men to posses. This purging included an unequivocal destruction of the art of Necromancy, as well as the attempts of some to conjure beings from outside of the realm. Little headway had been made in this area of conjuration from primoridial forces that lie outside of Ashr'alan, and Dalthazar felt this was dishonoring the world that had nurtured them. So by his order, all research that had been stored over the centuries on the arts of Necromancy, as well as the other targeted magics dealing in extra planar conjuration, were collected and destroyed. Those mages who did have such knowledge willingly stepped forward to undergo excrutiating magical forces to purge their mind of the knowledge. Never again would the mankind be tempted to use these fouling and corruptive forces. It could only be hoped that those Dark Elves who still knew the unspeakable art, would remain hidden underground until their death.
