Soothing Thoughts for a Broken Heart

Music is The Lord's Prayer

The Great Physician

Welcome to the Great Physician's
Office hours are as you come,
He's a specialist in all problems
And His day is never done.

He can heal a heart that's broken
He can mend the spirit too,
No matter what your ailment
He does have the cure for you.

His fee for service never alters
He serves rich and poor as well,
He's our one chance for salvation
He alone saves us from Hell.

There's no fee for services rendered
All He asks is we believe.
That He bled and died to save us
And all His blessings we'll receive.

Do you have a special problem
That is troubling you this hour?
Then just simply leave it with Him
You can find no greater power.

Don't delay in seeking treatment
Please my friend don't hesitate,
For His office is soon closing
And He'll shut and lock the gate.

I wouldn't want for you to suffer
While the doctor's so close by,
Your whole life will be much better
If the physician you will try.

Dear Daughter:

I remember well that day you left my side,
wandered through the veil and ventured forth to fulfill your earthly mission. I had a tear in my eye each time I clothed your spirit in a cloak of love and sent you off to school. Be assured that my
thoughts are with you now, as always.

I love you with all my heart. I know your life, the good, the bad, your grief, your disappointment, your unrewarded efforts, your frustrations, your
temptations.

But always remember, all that I have is yours if you will come home again.

Daughter, realize that in you I have placed a bit of heaven. No one
was exempt. I love all of my children.
You have some blest gift, some talent, some little part of me in you.

Search for it, develop it, use it, and most importantly, share it with others.

If you really love, then help others find themselves and lead them to me. Show your love by serving others. Repent of your failings and humble yourself. Make yourself ever teachable and
continually strive to improve.

I gave you weakness to help you to be humble. Don't condemn me for that.  I did it because I love you. Be full of hope. Don't let discouragement engulf you. I'll come, if you want me to.

Daughter, cease your idle contentions. Be a peacemaker, for it breaks my heart to see so many of my children fighting. If they only could see what I have helped, planned and desired for them.

My heart breaks as I watch them. But you, my
faithful daughter, are my hope.
It is through you that my work must proceed. You haven't much time and there is so much to be done.

I beg you to get started.
Accomplish that mission I gave to you
before you left me. I'll help you. I'll never be too busy or too far away to come to you.
I'm nearer to you always than you might suspect.
I have so much I would like to tell you, but can't here.

Come to me often in prayer. I love to talk to you, my beloved Daughter. Be diligent in my work
and my kingdom shall be yours. I'd love to take you in my arms, but I, too, must wait patiently; that time will come. 'Till then, I leave you with my peace my blessing, my love, and never forget I am nearby whenever you need me.

I love you and miss you so very much,
and, oh, how I am looking forward to your return again to me and to your loved ones who have come to me already.
                                                                All my love,
                                                YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN

Hearing God

Not long ago I heard a story about a young man and an old preacher.

The young man had lost his job and didn't know which way to turn. So he wentto see the old preacher.

Pacing about the preacher's study, the young man ranted about his problem.
Finally he clenched his fist and shouted, "I've begged God to say something to help me. Tell me, Preacher, why doesn't God answer?"

The old preacher, who sat across the room, spoke something in reply--something so hushed it was indistinguishable.
The young man stepped across the room. "What did you say?" he asked.

The preacher repeated himself, but again in atone as soft as a whisper.

So the young man moved closer until he was leaning on the preacher's chair. "Sorry," he said. "I still didn't hear you." With their heads bent together, the old preacher spoke once more.
"God sometimes whispers," he said, "so we will move closer to hear Him."

This time the young man heard and he understood.

We all want God's voice to thunder through the air with the answer to our problem. But God's is the
still, small voice. . .the gentle whisper.

Perhaps there's a reason. Nothing draws human focus quite like a whisper.

God's whisper means I must stop my ranting and move close to Him, until my head is bent together with His. And then, as I listen, I will find my
answer. Better still, I find myself closer to God.

Whisper Jesus

"WHISPER JESUS"

Today I got a burden,
And I felt that I should pray,
For God's spirit seemed to tell me, That you were having a bad day.

I don't know just what that problem is, But I sure do know the cure, And if you'll only let Him, God will keep you safe and secure.

In life there's always problems,
Cropping up to spoil our day,
But my friend, you know the answer, All you have to do, is "PRAY."

If you still feel you're defeated, And you want to run and hide, Just reach out, and I'll be there, Standing right there by your side.

So remember-- WHISPER JESUS,
For He's just a prayer away,
He's so close that you can touch Him, All you have to do, is "pray".

If Jesus Came to Your House

If Jesus came to your house to spend a day or two If he came unexpectedly, I wonder what you'd do. I know you'd give your nicest room, to such an honored Guest, And all the food you'd serve Him, would be the very best. And you would keep assuring Him, you're glad to have Him there That serving Him in your home is joy beyond compare.

But-when you saw Him coming, would you meet Him at the door With arms outstretched in welcome to your heavenly Visitor? Or would you have to change your clothes before you let Him in,
Or hide some magazines and put the Bibles where they'd been? Would you turn off the television and hope he hadn't heard And wish you hadn't uttered that last, loud, hasty word?

Would you hide your worldly music and put some hymn books out? Could you let Jesus walk right in, or would you rush about? And I wonder-if the Saviour spent a day or two with you, Would you go right on doing the things you always do?

Would you keep right on saying the things you always say? Would life for you continue as it does from day to day?

Would your family conversation keep up its usual pace? And would you find it hard each meal to say a table grace? Would you sing the songs you always sing and read the books you read? And let Him know the things on which your mind and spirit feed? Would you take Jesus with you, everywhere you'd planned to go, Or would you, maybe, change your plans for just a day or so?

Would you be glad to have Him, meet your very closest friends, Or would you hope they'd stay away, until His visit ends? Would you be glad to have Him stay forever on and on, Or would you sigh, with great relief when He at last was gone?

It might be interesting to know, the things that you would do, If Jesus came in person to spend some time with you.
