Lady Cats Take Postseason Honors El Dorado finished off its best season in recent memory. The Lady Cats finished with a 17-9 record, tied for third in the AAAAA-South, earned a berth to the state tournament, played in three tournament finals and won two tournament championships. Now that the season is over, the Lady Cats are reaping the postseason rewards. Senior center Falundrus Sims was named All-State while senior Sarah Sullivan and sophomore Kristian Tester were named All-Conference. Sims, who averaged a double-double for the second year in a row, was also named News-Times Defensive Player of the Year. Sims and Tester were first team All-Area selections with Sullivan named to the All-Area second team. Tester, who led the area in assists, was named News-Times Rookie of the Year. "I thought we had a great season. I was pleased to see these young ladies honored for their hard work," said Coach Brad Slatton. April Curley joined Sims on the News-Times All Defensive Team. Curley, Cassie Tester, Meshali Mitchell and Kendra Stegall were named Honorable Mention All-Area.
