Born in Kentucky abt 1850 Moved Memphis TN. about 1882 married unknown had a son Robert Morris Davis,b.1889 Shelby Co. TN. divorced or maybe died from child birth. Then married Mary T. Jones b. Mo. E.R. Davis died April 28 1927 and is buried in Memphis TN. His son Robert Moris Davis was raised by Mr. and Mrs Cleve Doyle of Ripley County
Mo. til he was 11 then later married Lidia Myers 1922 in Randolph Co. Ar. the parents of Jewel Robert Davis born 1924 in Clay Co. Ar.
Evidently his name was Edmund R. Davis. Found for
him was in the City Directory for 1883.
Edmund R. Davis was listed as a
carpenter, boarding at 9 Front Street.

1884 - Edmund R. Davis - worked at Hanauer Oil Works. Boarded at 9
Front Street
1885 - Not listed
1886 - Edward (I believe this is a mistake of the one who collected the
information for directory. This is the only year a Edward R.
was listed). - carpenter - lived at 8 Overton St.
1920 - Edmund R. Davis - carpenter - lived at 734 Chelsea Ave.

Edmund Robert Davis died 4/28/1927 - 77 years old. Buried in Elmwood

E. R. Davis passed away yesterday afternoon at his residence, 234
Chelsea Avenue, following an illness of five days. He was 77 years old and a
native of Kentucky.
About 45 years ago Mr. Davis moved to Memphis and soon thereafter he
married Miss Mary T. Jones of Missouri. He is survived by his widow, one
son, C. W. Davis, and four daughters, Mrs. A. W. Davis, Mrs. W. G. Jackson,
Mrs. R. G. Luster of Memphis and Mrs. C. M. Sowers of Wichita, Kan.
Funderal service, conducted by the Rev. Ralph Roberts, will be held
from the residence of his daughter, 222 Chelsea Avenue, this afternoon at 3
o'clock, and interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. McDowell & Montverde
are in charge.

Robert when an infant was given to the family of Cleve Doyle
of Pratt Ripley County Mo. to raise. When Robert was 14 he worked
for Odis Dunn on a cotton Plantation in Ar. He worked there till he
married Flora Belle McCall.

Ople and Odis: Ople died and almost 3 and Odis died at 3 years one
month they said he died of grief over Ople's death.
Three weeks after Carter was born Flora belle died Ar.
Flora's mother took Carter to raise , they just called her

Robert M. Had first child he was about 13 or 14 years old.
Six years later Robert meet Lydia Myers and Married 1922

Lydia had children by another marriage:

Children: Robert M. Davis and Lydia Myers: Jewel R. Davis
Robert went back to Memphis in about 1924 and found he had 3 1/2
sisters Kate, Irine, Alice. He also found his Aunt Betty She was
the Mother of David Crocket.(I think this was great Aunt and was headstone or found he at one time had)
Robert Davis died in 1926 maybe in
Memphis or Ar. Robert died of a tumor in the back of his head.
Roberts great grand father lived to be 107 years old
NOTE: There seems to big a large blank spot in E.R. Davis's life
form 1850 through 1890 his first marriage doesn't show up.
NOTE: There are Davis Samons/Sammons lines and Davis Songer lines
for now I'll just call it two different lines though they were in the same areas I have nothing as yet to tie them together but My Moores' are linked to both.
After Robert died Lydia married Albert Sorrells, till his death.
