The Long Awaited Path Change

It's been a long, hard and agonizing road that he and I have trod,

The road that led upon mountain paths of rocks, and deserts dry and parched.

I didn't think I would survive. I didn't think I would.

The road was full of pain and tears, and hard and labored breaths.

What made the difference I can tell, was that You were there for me.

You led me step by step each day, never leaving me to stray.

The path has its places of rest, yet still going straight uphill,

where my legs are oh so sore now, and lungs about to burst!

It hasn't been real easy. It hasn't been the least bit fun.

It has only been forced growth march, blind trust the entire way!

But my mate finally took the task of the climb, and left that big plateau.

To find his way where he should be, to climb his appointed climb.

We have resumed our climb together, the joy has now returned.

Just one more obstacle blocks the way for the complete and total joy.

Now we can pray together. Now we can fight the fight

with more power than to fight alone, more than enough to win.

What changes we are seeing in ourselves and each other.

What changes we can yet expect to see as we climb the path together.

No use in looking behind us or looking way down below.

Our eyes are fixed on ahead us, to the prize atop this climb.

The mountain is not as steep now, doesn't seem a mountain at all.

It's a happier path we are taking, assured of the rest of the climb.

That the rest of the family will be with us, to finish the last of the climb.

We will rejoice and sing praise together, to The One Who leads us Home.
