Bertie Earl BROOKS was born 8 JUL 1889 in Ripley County, Missouri and died 28 MAY 1870 in California. It is believed that his parents were James D. and Mary Ellen FOWLER BROOKS, but this has not been proven. At any rate, he was adopted by Dr. William Atherton BROOKS in 1899. Bertie married Cannie Ellen HOPPER 12 JAN 1920. Cannie was born 7 DEC 1899 in Missouri and died 24 NOV 1995 in California.

Bertie and Cannie had the following children:

They had two sons who are still living.



Notes for Bertie Earl BROOKS:

It is unknown what happened to Bertie's parents in 1899 that left four children orphaned. Bertie had two sisters and a brother: Sarah, Gertie Pearl (twin to Bertie Earl) and Frank. Sarah and Frank are found in the 1900 Census:
