Lift Each Other Up
I count the seconds as they pass
They become minutes, hours
Ever slowly they pass by me
They become days, weeks and months
Each second that passes
Seems like an eternity without you.
I remember the feeling of your soft skin
As I caressed it
Your sweet scent, As I inhaled you
And used it to fill my lungs
With life giving air
The tenderness of your lips
As I pressed mine to them.
I remember being wrapped in
Your arms, feeling warm and safe
My sanctuary being a heartbeat away from me
Pressing up against you
I felt the ecstasy of heaven
On this earth
It was only yesterday that we became one
A second ago, that our souls touched
Two combining to form the perfect union
Of flesh, blood, mind and spirit
A transitory phase
Were two lives come together
To lift each other up
From the shallowness of our existence
To level that allowed us
To fly with the eagles
To float among the spirits
To touch the gods
