*NEWS*

11-13-02 This will most likely be the last update ever to this site. Kiffin, Josh, and Dave are now in a new band called Har Meggido. There is no webpage yet, don't know if one will be made. Scott is working a couple of jobs and trying to make ends meet. Um..thanks to those that cared.

5-24-2002 Well, we've decided that Scott's a dumbass...AGAIN.

5-20-2002 Represent!! Check out a review of our Punk Rock Prom show at Arkansas Rockers. It was written by Lindsey somethingorother. She seems to be a nice girl. The show went okay. It seemed as if we might fall apart in the beginning, but we pulled it all together towards the end. Josh definately stole the show though. His rousing performance at the end of our new and yet to be titled song left the crowd awestruck with dropped jaws. He's a real performer, he is. Anyways, getting geared up for Mastadon so that we don't get laughed off the stage. Let's just say we have a big, red, triangular shaped surprise in store for that show. *wink wink*. That's all, keep on rockin' in the free world.

4-26-02 Hey all. We are just trying to get in some practice as of late. Taking a break from playing shows untill our bigger shows with Mastadon and at the Punk Rock Prom. The new stuff is really good in spots. We just have to figure out how to piece those spots together. Um....come see us if you get the chance. Thanks.

3-30-02 Hey fellow rockers! We just played the show at the new club in Pine Bluff, AR last night. Words can't describe it! Hopefully every other show there will go as well as this one did. Also, we had the honor of playing with a bunch of amazing bands. One of which being The Last Farewell from Jonesboro, AR. I URGE all our hardcore fans to check this band out. AMAZING. Hopefully we'll be able to play many more those with these guys. Anyway, now we're just looking forwards to the show in Cleveland, Mississippi on April 6th. If you know anyone in the area, call em up and tell them to come to the show. Also, we're still taking suggestions for a new name so if anyone can think of anything rad, let us know at theskylinedrive@hotmail.com or post those badboys on the messageboard! That's about it for now. Take care, everyone!

3-24-02 Hey all, Dave here. We've had just a TON of shows fall right into our lap as of late. So we're getting as much practice in as we can and playing as many shows as work, school, and money allow. We busted a new song out of our urethra's. We don't have a name for it yet, but it's pretty good. Kiffin is totally destorying some ani with his screams. I think the Kiffster is coming out of his shell. Well, we're gonna keep practicing and playing. If you feel like catching us live, go the the Dates page to see where you can. Have a nice day.

2-25-02 We've had a whole lot of practicing going on. We've also popped out another new song tenatively entitled "The Boiler Room Boys". It is insturmental for the most part but should TOTALLY keep you tappin your foot and bobbin your head! Oh yeah, Come see us at Vino's in Little Rock on March 2nd!

2-18-02 We were very excited to finally get our lazy asses back up to Ft. Smith. I'm pretty sure we'd all agree that it was awesome too see all of our old friends from the area. The show went well I suppose. It totally wasn't our best, by any means....but we played and the kids seemed to like it. Also, none of them had ever heard us without Chad. Anyway, we're now trying to pull a few more songs outta our ass before the vinos show in 2 weeks. Keep checkin the lyrics page to see what new stuff we got! We love you.

2-02-02 Well, the KABF benefit show at Vino's went great! Everyone came together to support a great cause and keep Arkansas' only community radio station on the air and delivering great music! It was our first show at Vino's and I'd like to say we were well received. We have already been asked to come back and play at least 2 more times in the next month. We also FINALLY got around to setting up that show in Fort Smith! Check out the dates page for that! I think that's about it for now! Thanx again to everyone who came and supported us and KABF at Vino's on Thursday night! We love you!

1-21-02 We've practiced a few times with Kiffin now and everything is going great! He's an amazing bass player and blows our mind everytime we get together to practice with him. Hopefully, he'll stick with us for a while. We should be in full effect at the KABF benifit at vino's on January 31st. Also, be on the lookout for a few new songs at that show. I have a feeling that the new stuff will rock your b00ty into tiny pieces! That's about it for now. Please keep checkin the site and sign the guestbook! I've updated the dates, bios, contacts, story, and links pages as well as a few other little things on the site. Basically just normal housekeeping stuff. Enjoy!

1-11-02 Well, lots of stuff has happened in the past few weeks. The big news I have though is Chad Chastain, The Skyline Drive's main vocalist and lyric writer, has officially left the band. Our little Chad is growing up and feels that working and actually making enough money to support himself is more important than the band?!...hehehe. We support Chad in his decision and want nothing but the best for him. This brings us to a new dawn for Skyline. We have all decided that it would be best for me to take his place on guitar and vocals and just look for a new bass player. Its not confirmed yet, but the name Kiffin Rogers, of 88.3's musical fruit fame, was mentioned many times in the same sentence with phrases such as "The Skyline Drive" and "bass player"....*wink wink*. The Skyline Drive was also mentioned with phrases such as "Vino's" and "January 31st". Hopefully these coincidences will both work out to be true! Also, with this newfound free time, I've had a chance to begin renovating the website. Its is more than likely going to go through many changes over the next few weeks so please, be patient. So far I've added TONS of pictures, as well as bios of the band members. If you notice any links that continuously don't work, email me and lemme know so I can take care of them. Take care everyone!

12-20-01 BOOM! I've had some free time since being out of school for christmas break so I'm gonna be scanning pictures like a madman. I know, I know. "It's December and you're just now putting up pictures taken in July?" Yeah buddy. That's right. Keep checkin' the images for updates. Also, we're gettin' practiced up and plan on booking some shows in Fayetteville/Fort Smith sometime in early January. Untill then, we would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!

11-23-01 Hello everyone. Just wanted to let everyone know that we finally got off our dead asses and wrote some songs/played a show. The 2 official new songs are called "With These Starlights, I Can't See Your Eyes" and the insturmental "Chi-Cha". You can find lyrics to "...Starlights" on the lyrics page. Also, the show in Texarkana was questionable, but I think we all had fun. I would like to thank all the kids who drove up from Shreveport to see us. You guys totally made the show worth playing....even though someone apparently thinks we're "a nameless band" who doesn't deserve to share the stage with ZTR. My momma always told me "If ya cant say something nice, dont say nothin at all". Everyone's got off days. We just happened to have one in a town we've never played in...hahaha." Much love to everyone and I hope you all had a happy turkey day!

11-13-01 Salutations friends! I hope everyone is doing well. I'd just like to drop in to tell everyone what's been going down in the world of Skyline Drive. Yeah, we've taken a little break from doing just about anything aside from that show at UCA a few weeks back (which was a great success and I thank everyone who came out and supported any of the bands). We've all been really busy with our personal lives. Me going to school full time, Dave going to school part-time and working, Chad holding 2 jobs, and Josh's cute little self still in high school (isnt he precious?!?!)have kind of been limiting our time to be a band. However, the semester is damn near over and that means it's time to get back in the swing of things. We recently wrote two new songs which have a few tennative names that aren't gonna be released at this time. We also have another one on the way which I have dubbed "Requiem for a Stranger" (that could change quickly though once it gets to the rest of the guys). I've also been working on an mp3.com page so everyone should check that out soon too! We also have a show coming up on November 17th...check the shows page out for that! Take care everyone!

10-26-01 Hey everyone! It was brought to my attention that we've been getting some radio play on 88.3fm, kabf. They played Closed Eyes and I Have a Box. It would be cool if everyone started calling the station to request us. So yeah, if ya happen to have some free time on your hands, give the station a call at 501-433-0088 and ask them to play some Skyline Drive. Your best bet would be calling on Wednesday nights. I think thats when they played us last. Thanx and we love you! Also, Ive been working on an Mp3.com site for us. It's not completely finished yet, but feel free to check it out at The Skyline Drive's mp3.com page! Take Care everyone!

10-15-01 Yo! This isn't Scott. This is Dave. At times I think I might be the only one who cares about keeping this page updated anymore. *laughs*. Anyways, we played our show at UCA last Friday night. I think it's safe to say that we all had a good time. It was only the second time since tour that we were all in the same place at the same time (the show at Faulkner's being the other time). I just want to add that I am deeply saddened by Them of Delphi breaking up. They are my favorite band in Arkansas right now, but not for very much longer. *sighs*. Well, just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came out to see us and the other bands play. We had a fun time. We'll (I'll) keep you posted on further happenings in the band.

10-9-01 The mp3's are working!

10-3-01 Hey kids! It's ole Scotty-boy. I just wanted to apologize for not having the new pictures up yet. Im trying to shrink them all down so they don't take up like 500000000k of space! I promise I'll let everyone know as soon as I get around to doing it. Also, don't forget about the show at the UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL ARKANSAS. It's gonna be amazing! Check the "shows" page for further details.

10-1-01 We're in the middle of a dry spell right now. We are having some difficulties getting our schedules to line out so we can practice. We desperately want to have some new songs written for our show at UCA on the 12th, but it's looking like that might not come to fruition. So, looks like we're coming, armed to the teeth with the same set we've been playing all year. Well, that's about all that's been shaking in our world. Email us if you want to get in touch or whatever.

9-9-01 The show at the Faulkner house last night went great. For a house show, there was plenty of room to run around and act goofy. The kids, for the most part, seemed to dig us. Most of the kids there (even me) was there for Pezz. They played a great last show in Conway and I'd like to to wish them a happy and prosperous life. They really were a great band. I should be able to get some more pictures up on the site soon so be on the look out for that too!

9-7-01 Hey Guys and Gals. This is Scott. Chad for some strange reason thought I'd like to be the new web monkey, so here I am. I'm not as good at this kinda stuff as he is, but I'll for damn sure try. I'm gonna be doing a few things to try to make the site run a little smoother for everyone so everything is kinda under construction at the moment. I'm totally open for suggestions so EMAIL ME.

8-30-01 Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry that it took so long to update the page. Angelfire.com kinda screwed up, but now I can acctually keep up the site. So far, we have finished the tour, had a lot of fun, made a lot of friends, and now have a lot of better stories to tell. Right now we are gonna kinda take a break so we can write some new songs and mabey record a split with Welton. Also, we will have a bunch of pictures from tour, a tour diary, and songs to download from the site. Also, the debut album "A Formal Apology To Everyone I've Hurt In The Past, Present, & Future" is out now and you can order it through Delivery Records. Thanks.

7-22-01 Well, the show the other night with Christiansen went pretty well. A lot of our friends showed up and that made us all feel good. Jeff at the Parlor was super cool. Christiansen was incredible! We just found out that our stickers are not gonna get here until mid August. Once again, the albumn is being held up thanks to the engineer. We hope to have it ready for tour. I know that we will at least have a few if not all of them ready. And, T-shirts are a-comin', i swear.

7-18-01 OK, i have updated the tour schedule and added a few bands and stuff. Thats about it.

7-16-01 Alright, I promise that the pics are up on the page. I forgot to put them up last time. Sorry. Uhh, we are about to go back in the studio and finish my vocals and guitar tracks. Josh goes in tomorrow. the album should be out in a week or two. I hope. Oh, we are playing a show this friday, 7-20, at the Parlor in Little Rock with Christiansen. Thats about it. Thanks.

7-13-01 Ok, I finally added a few new pics of us, WITH Scott on bass. Hopefully he will finally shut up! We will also have a few more pics from the studio up soon too. Also, our stickers should be in soon, the albumn should be out in a week or so, and our T-shirts will start being made in the next week. Thanks.

7-10-01 Well, we started recording our albumn that should be out for the tour this summer. So far we did the drum and bass tracks of 3 songs and plan on doing the rest of the tracks later today. Andrea joined us in the studio to assist with the picture department and keep our hopes up. We have 2 shows planned for this week. Both are at the Belvedere Riverfront in Little Rock. One on the 11th w/Gut Feeling, and Standard Issue. The other is on Friday with some band from Florida. But we are still not sure if we are playing or not. That's about it for now.

6-28-01 We played the Fort Smith and Pine Bluff shows and both were really good. In Fort Smith we played with the likes of Welton, St. Peter's Gihdora, Jade Syndicate, Bellarsea, etc. It was one of my favortis shows ever. Tons of people showed up, every band was really good, and we ate some great chineese food that gave us all gas (except Chad). We handed out over 50 free patches too. Then on Tuesday we played Pine Bluff with Skyscrapers & the Men Who Build Them, Revenge Syndicate, and Psycho Joe. The first 3 bands played, we had to cut our set short, then the cops showed up and made us move the show to Dave's house where Revenge Syndicate did an amazing show in a bedroom that is only like 15' X 15'. House shows are definetely more fun. Well, we are booked to record in two weeks and we plan on releasing a 6-8 song EP to tour with. So be on the look out for it.

6-19-01 Well, I've got a few more pictures to add to the page, but my digital camera isn't working for me. Oh, we DID finally order the stickers and they should be here in a 2-8 weeks. I hope that we have them for the tour. Uhhh, Chad has to buy a new car because his Mazda decided to stop driving. I will post the pics if my camera will let me. That is all.

6-15-01 Scott touched Josh's dog's privates! That is all.

6-9-01 Well, a lot has happened in the last few days. We had a member change. Our bass player, Dustin, was asked to leave the band. It was a decision of the band in order to save a friendship. We are all still really good friends with him and as far as I know there are no bad feelings in the band. It was not his bass playing at all. He is a great bass player and it had nothing to do with that. On a lighter note, Scott Dombroski was asked to put down the guitar and pick up the bass to fill the hole. So far everything is going great. Scott has learned all the songs and we even have a new song called "Don't Listen To Her". It is a new favorite of the guys. Also, we have a few more dates booked and teh stickers and T-shirts will be ordered in the next week. So be on the look out.

6-3-01 Well, Chad got his new guitar in the mail the other day. Its a 1978 B.C. Rich Mockingbird NJ Series Neck Thru. That is about all. Oh, it looks like the Vino's show is a no go. The Bookie told me (in a nice way) that he couldn't do a show on that date.

5-30-01 Nothing happened. Except I booked Jade Syndicate and Prey For Garett for the Fort Smith show on July 30th.

5-28-01 Not much has happened. I added a few more links. Uhhhh, Randy from Faulkner asked if they could rock out at the show in Conway. So they are playing too. Uhh, and right now, I'm checking into T-shirt printing cost.

5-26-01 OK, today, I stoped at home to I could check the email and update the page. I really didn't have much to say, uhh, we wrote music to a new song and we are planning on going in the studio soon to release a 3-4 song demo. Also, a really cool band from Texas is gonna join our tour for one or 2 dates. They are called We Talked About Murder. They rock. Go to Has Anyone Ever Told You Records web site to download "Victimology". It rocks! Right now, I'm waiting on my new BC Rich Maockingbird to arrive. Thats about it.

5-22-01 Nothing really drastic happened today. I added a few more bands to the tour schedule. Chad and Ellen went out and took pictures of Skyline Drive (the street in NLR) for stickers and shirts and stuff. Dave and Josh made plans for us to return to the studio, this time to leave with at least a demo. Also, Dave and Chad are trying to pull some strings with Sparrow (hardcore from Conway) about doing the tour with us this summer and mabey tacking on a few more dates in Texas and south Arkansas.
Oh, Skyline Drive is officially on Delivery Records outta Pine Bluff. Yeah, yeah , yeah, I know that Dave (drummer of Skyline Drive) runs Delivery, but so what. I'm still excited!

5-20-01 Well, we finished our first show at RollerWorld and we all think that it went over pretty well. Afterwards, everyone (except Chad) went to Hick's House for a big Bar-B-Que. Hicks is the greatest! I think we have another show on June 26th with Skyscrapers And The Men Who Build Them and Revenge Syndicate. The location is still in the air. We will be ordering stickers in the next week.

5-15-01 Today, I've added a couple more bands to the tour. Thanks to all the bands that are supporting us. I can't wait for the tour. And the show this Saturday is gonna rock! We plan ordering a bunch of stickers in the next week. Thats about it for now.

5-10-01 Ok, I've added some new pictures from one of our practices on the images page. Check them out. Also i have added a few new links and changed the dates page for the show on May 19th back to RollerWorld. It should be an awesome show, we are talking with a few more bands from Little Rock that also wanna play. I hope to seeyou all there.

5-9-01 Yeah, I know that it's been a while, don't be mad. I've been working on ArkanSuck and it's been keeping me busy. Well, we have a little news, we have practiced a couple times and really tightened everything up and even recorded and couple songs on a four track at Dave's house. We don't plan on releasing it or anything, just to have something to give to venues and so we can hear ourselves. Oh, we now have a cover song, its an old 80's rocker. I'd guess that I should tell you what it is, but instead, I'll make you have to find out for yourself. It's been on VH1's Behind the Music!

5-1-01 Well, its been a while since the last update. I've been pretty busy trying to find an apartment in Little Rock and working. Very little has happened with Skyline Drive. We practiced a few times, wrote a new song, Chad nearly killed himself in a 90 mile a hour accident on the interstate. He did a 180 and slammed into a guard rail facing the wrong way. He didn't get hurt because he feel asleep at the wheel and kinda sleep through it. Thats about it for now.

4-19-01 Well, we practiced again the other day and we put some more vocals to a few new songs, and it looks like Josh is gonna sing a little too. Dustin broke a drum stick and a low "E" bass string. He's too metal for this. The song we put vocals to is "CBR". It's kinda poppy, but has its hardcore-ness to it. Don't think that we are that poppy, I don't want to scare you away. Oh, Chad's sister had a baby girl named Gabriel (or something like that)! And thats why practice started like three hours late. Dave has Josh's designs to the stickers but didn't give them to me. DAVE! So we are still holding for the stickers, sorry.

4-14-01 Lets see, Attica Prios Riot (Dave and Chad's other band) was going to practice on thursday, but instead, Skyline Drive clocked in a few hours. We got a chance to tighten up a few things, work on a little bit of new stuff, and even write a new song called The Travel Song. Its real short and poppy, but it has its rockin' moments. We even had a few people outside of the band watch us play. A new girl that Dave and Dustin knew came and watched us write the new one, and then Hicks and some friends came and saw our 10 minute set of 3 songs.
Afterwards, we all went to TacoBell, told some funny stories about farting, then decided to go to watch movies at Anggie's house, but along the way Chad's car got a flat! So all of Skyline Drive, Hicks, Anggie, Wes, Jeremmy (from St Louis), and a cop stood in the rain in a puddle of mud changing a tire. Acctually, just Dave, Josh, and Wes changed the tire, the rest of us just stood around getting wet.
Finnally, we made it to the house to watch Friday the 13th Part 85, "Jason goes to Manhatan and kills a bunch of people and then he dies but comes back to do another eight movies". What a night.
Also, I added a few pics of Chad when he attended the Recording Workshop in Ohio in Late Fall of 2000.

4-9-01 Well, Satuday night (actually, Sunday morning) we went in the studio and recorded 2 songs, minus Dustin. We got there around 12 midnight and after about 20 minutes of setting up, Dave noticed that he forgot his hardware, so we had to drive back to Conway to Chad's house, got the stuff, and drove right back. Thanks Dave. We finished the drums and guitar tracks for "J-pop" and "Closed Eyes" around 7:30am and they turned out really well. We still need to lay down the bass, keyboards, and vocals too. Also, I've added some pics from the studio. Sorry, no Dustin yet.

4-6-01 Well, it's like 5am and I thought that I would update, but i don't really have anything to do. I'm really bored. I did read all the messages. Thanks. That was very kind of everyone to sign it. I did fix a couple spelling errors on the page, but thats not much to get excited over. Oh, we are in the process of making about 500 B/W stickers, there will be two separate designs for the picky people or the Skyline Drive collectors. The designs should be done in a few days, and when we get the stickers made, I'll make a merch page. Wooha!

4-5-01 I've added a couple things to the site, cleaned it up some and did a little booking. We are planning on going in the studio this Saturday to record a couple songs for an up coming EP. It should be fun.

4-3-01 Ok, so far, in the last week we wrote a couple new songs and even added a little keyboards. We are still working on the song that Dave plays bass/vocals on, but first we need to buy a low E string for the bass.
Dave cracked his ride cymbal and it looks like he's gonna have to buy a new one soon. Oh well. He still needs to work on vocals for his song too.
Dustin's bass is due to come back from the shop any day now, and his Squire needs to go in the shop to get the switch fixed.
Josh is still playing chords that Chad can't play. Screw him. He is also planning on getting a 2 X 12 Vox amp!
Chad is still looking for a second job and having to drive from Conway to Pine Bluff everytime they want to jam, and it looks like his car is messed up again. Crap! I just got the "much Les Paul" fixed, and even though it's a Lotus, it still rocks hard!

4-2-01 I made the site.
