Mr. Scherer has been involved with church as long as he can remember. From the age of five until an adult, he sang in choirs at the Presbyterian Church his family attended. His father was a Psychology professor and the founder/owner of Psychological Instruments Company, Inc. His mother taught pre-school children. One of Mr. Scherer's grandfathers was a Presbyterian minister and a president of King College in Bristol, Tennessee. The other grandfather was a law enforcement officer and a staunch Baptist.
Wallace was active in his church's youth group as a teenager, and later attended both Presbyterian and Methodist colleges, as well as a state university.
While in the Navy, Mr. Scherer was active in the ministry of The Navigators. Through this ministry, Wallace learned to study the Bible, apply it to his daily life, evangelize, and teach. Later he became a member of a large non-demoninational church with a strong emphasis in foreign missionary work. He went on to become a deacon, then a missionary of this church for seventeen years.
Through the years Mr. Scherer has had numerous experiences in churches in various cities, states, and even overseas. He has: preached sermons, led Bible studies, conducted baptisms, led prayer meetings, operated sound systems, officiated in funerals, led church business meetings, officiated in serving Communion, played trumpet in a praise band, sung in large choral productions, organized and directed church choirs, taught Sunday School to teens and adults, participated in outdoor evangelistic services, been treasurer of a regional church organization, visited churches to promote foreign mission work, organized church dinners, retreats, special programs, visited churches with a choir to promote a Bible Institute, conducted seminars on prayer, finances, marriage, music, helped revise a church constitution, supervised pastoral interns.
He brings to his church consulting work a great love for God and God's people. He has a strong desire to see the Church of Jesus Christ fulfill its mission in this needy world.
