Intermediate High Level

In this tutorial I hope to encourage you to use Brushes for your corners instead of tubes. There are two plug ins used in this tutorial just like most of my frame tutorials. So the important thing I hope is you Have Fun!


What you will need to do this tutorial:
1. PSP 7
2. Flaming Pear Blade Pro
3. Graphic and sparkle tube used in this tutorial. Download and open in PSP.

4. Blade Pro Presets created by Designs by Diz. Download and unzip to the Blade Pro Environment and texture folder.

5. Fantastic Machines Paint Engine Plug In. Download and put in your Plug in folder for Paint Shop Pro.

6. Brushes for the corners. Please download and unzip put into the Brush folder in Paint Shop Pro. I included extra brushes for you to use hoping you will enjoy using them as much as I do for corners.

7. Gradient used in tutorial please download and unzip to the gradient folder in Paint Shop Pro.

8. Inner Bevel Preset please unzip and download to the Preset folder in Paint Shop Pro. The name of the preset is Needlepoint Frame.

Let's Get Started

1. Open Graphic in PSP you may use the graphic I did or one of your own. Duplicate this image and close the original. This way you won't destroy your original image.
2. In bottom Color Palette Style Box select solid color white.
3. Go to Image>Add Borders> Symmetric Size 4 click ok.
4. Select the white border with the Magic Wand tool.
5. Go to Top Color Palette Style Box and select Gradient mqc_space
6. Flood Fill the white border with the marching ants.
7. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel. Select Needle Point Frame Preset.
8. Deselect the ants.
9. Go to Image>Add Borders>Symmetric Size 25 click ok.
10. Select the white border with the Magic Wand.
11. Go to Effects>Plug Ins>Flaming Pear>Ornament. You may do this step upon your selection of what you like. I did this step with the Ornament in Flaming Pear 3 times.
12. Go Effects>Fantastic Machines>Paint Engine. Select Mosaic 1 setting. Click Apply.
*If you don't have the Mosaic 1 setting see below:

13. Go to Selections>Float.
14. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Cut Out settings:

Vertical & Horizontal 10
Opacity 50
Blur 15
Color Black Click ok.

15. Repeat Step 14 changing the Vertical & Horizontal to minus -10.
16. Deselect the ants.
17. Go to Image>Add Border>Symmetric Size 4 click ok.
18. Select the white border with the Magic Wand Tool.
19. Select Top Color Palette Style box with your gradient. You will use the same gradient as before except click Invert Gradient Box. That is the only change.
20. Flood Fill the white border.
21. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel same setting as in Step 7. Deselect the ants.
22. Go to Image>Add Border>Symmetric Size 8 click ok.
23. Select the white border with the Magic Wand Tool.
24. Select the Top Color Palette Style box choose solid color. Choose a color that compliments your image I used #94ABF.
25. Flood fill the marching ants white border.
26. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel same setting as in Step 7.
27. Deselect the marching ants.
28. Go to Layers>New Rastar Click ok. You are adding a new layer to the image.
29. Click on the Brush Tool. In the pop up Option Box for the Brush Tool click on the paint brush in the upper right hand corner select Custom. Use the settings below:


30. In top Color Palette Style Box select Solid Color White.
31. Click on the working image to make it active.
32. Now apply the brush to the upper left hand corner of your frame.
33. Go to Effects>Plug Ins>Flaming Pear>Blade Pro. Select Rosewedge by Diz apply the blade pro.
34. Go to Effects 3D Effects>Drop Shadow settings:

Vertical and Horizontal 3
Opacity 50
Blur 3
Color Black
C Click ok.

35. Go to Effects>Sharpen>Sharpen.
36. Go to Layers>Duplicate.
37. Go to Image>Mirror.
38. Go to Layers>Duplicate.
39. Go to Layers>Flip.
40. Go to Layers>Duplicate.
41. Go to Image>Mirror.
42. Open the white sparkle tube in PSP.
43. Go to Edit>Copy.
44. Click on working image go to Edit>Paste as a new layer. Place the Sparkle tube where you want on the image.
45. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow use same settings as in Step 34.
45. Go to Layers>Merge>All Flatten.
47. Go to Image>Resize. Make sure pixel size is checked and type in 300 and make sure no number in those two boxes is above 300. At the bottom make sure both boxes have a check mark. Click ok.
48.You may choose at this time to sharpen your image if you do go to Effects>Sharpen>Sharpen.
49. Save Your Image as JPG.
