Pakistani opposition leader, Benazir Bhutto, is assassinated

Dec. 27th, 2007; Big fluffy snowflakes was falling gently today. Covering everything with a fresh new white blanket of snow that I could not resist to get Buddy harnessed and get the sled out and hit the trail. What an exciting time we had, spending the calm day with Buddy out in this winter wonderland. Going through this soft, fluffy snow on a very mild, windless day. I had to take off my bulky winter coat and drape it over the handle bar of the sled, because I found it was just too warm with it on. After a good hour run, we headed back home. Buddy was treated with a yummy snack, and I had a hot cup of coffee along with a cigarette, and enjoyed the restful moment. I put the radio on and the news announcer related how the Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, was assassinated. I was not the least bit surprise to have heard that she had been assassinated, given that there had already been an assassination attempt on her life on 18th of October 2007. The news announcer stated that the Pakistani opposition leader, Benazir Bhutto, is dead following a shooting and a suicide bomb attack on her vehicle as she left a public rally in Rawalpindi. 22 other people were also killed in that blast. No one has yet to claim responsibility for that attack, though many people in Pakistan seem to think that Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf had been indirectly involved with Benazir Bhutto death. Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf addressed the Pakistani people and condemned the attack, and announced three days of mourning for Bhutto. The assassination of Benazir Bhutto has also been condemned by separatist and mainstream leaders in Pakistan. All schools, commercial centers and banks are closed. Bhutto's security adviser, Rehman Malik, said the leader was shot in the neck and chest by the attacker, who then detonated his explosive. Party supporter Chaudry Mohammed Nazir said two gunshots were fired on Bhutto's vehicle as it left the rally and then a big blast occurred. The death of Benazir Bhutto, will no doubt throw the election campaign into chaos. The voting date was set for Jan. 8th, 2008. Musharraf has called a high-level emergency meeting to discuss what the government can do now given that this event has plunged Pakistan into a state of crisis. Benazir Bhutto was many things. Zealous guardian of her dead father's legacy which was embroiled in corruption , aristocratic populist, accused rogue, but to many Pakistanis, especially Moslem women, she was a leader who spoke for them, their needs and their hopes. She was a masterful politician. She had fled Pakistan before her conviction on corruption charges, living abroad for eight years. She could have lived abroad comfortably, far from the cauldron of Pakistani politics, but chose not to do so. And when she returned in October to marshal opposition to President Pervez Musharraf, on 18th of October 2007, a suicide attacker had targeted her homecoming parade in Karachi. More than 140 people had died in that incident. The 54-year-old Bhutto had escaped injury then. "We will not be deterred," she had said then. Her luck had just ran out. As of now, President Pervez Musharraf will have no choice now but to re-instate Marshall Law until the situation is no longer a powder keg, ready to blow-up at any moment.

Another major snowstorm hits Ontario

Dec. 29th, 2007; I usually get up at around 5 AM in the morning, without an alarm clock, and looked out the window and saw that we had received a lot of snow last night. This morning when I took Buddy out to do his toilet, I had to shovel my way out from all that snow that was blocking my way. Looks like we had another major snowstorm last night which had brought heavy snowfall all across the province of Ontario. People in Ontario are having to dig out today from a relentless snowstorm that struck hard last night and now it's time to get the shovel or snow blower out once again. The snowstorm dumped around 25-30 centimeters of snow in Haileybury and the rest of Temiskaming Shores area. It must have been a ferocious blizzard which had dumped all this snow right across Ontario and Quebec.

This snowstorm will no doubt be creating hazardous driving conditions for those people who have to travel around and will more likely be grounding planes for those people who had expected to fly last night or today. I had to get my shovel out and clear a pathway to help make it easier for people to enter or leave our residence where I live. While I was at that, I also cleared the entrance to Come by Chance Treasures for Irene, because she is so kind to me. Buddy really enjoyed this latest snowfall for he could not stop rolling in it. How silly he looked, all covered in snow. Buddy and I headed back inside and I made some breakfast for both of us. Buddy seen to enjoy the pourage (oatmeal), and french toast as much as I do. Yep, global warming is sure having an effect and heating thing up around here. I can sure feel that heat from global warming, when I go outside. I must be just imagining the freezing temperature and bitter cold winds we have had for the past few months, along with all the snow that is outside. That's what it must be, it must be just my silly imagination. Then we settled down as I scanned the Internet for the latest news of the day. I see that the Al Qaeda militant leader in Pakistan has denied any involvement in the Bhutto assassination. Bhutto aide says they still suspect a government coverup. Our Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister is warning Canadians not to travel to Pakistan right now. Canadians who choose to travel to Pakistan despite his warning should evaluate carefully the implications for their own security and safety where widespread rioting continues after the murder of Benazir Bhutto. The instability gripping Pakistan following the assassination of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto could well spill over into neighbouring Afghanistan, where Canadian soldiers are fighting the Taliban. With Bhutto out of the way, the Taliban can now move more freely and continue their fight in Afghanistan. I see that Osama bin Laden has warned to expand the terror group's "holy war" activity to Israel. He made that statement on a new tape that was posted on Al-Sahab. Bin Laden's comments made an unusually direct attack on Israel, which has warned there will be a growing al Qaeda activity in the Palestinian territory. According to Osama bin Laden, the Palestinian terrorist network has not taken a strong enough stand in their attacks on Israel so far. He intends to liberate Palestine, the whole of Palestine from the Jordan river to the sea. Osama bin Laden will not recognize the Jewish people or the Jewish State, not even one inch of it as other Muslim leaders have. He did not mention Pakistan or the assassination of Benazir Bhutto in this new tape. The authenticity of the tape seem to be reliable, given that the voice is of bin Laden. The tape was posted on some Islamic militant Web site where al Qaeda's media arm, Al-Sahab, issues the group's messages. There is sone tensions over Kenya's election process which has erupted into violence today. Kenyan electoral officials had suspended the announcement of vote results in the country's presidential race in an attempt to quell riots prompted by long delays and accusations of a deadlock and vote rigging. 125 people have been killed, amid clashes between rioters and police over the disputed presidential election which had plunged one of Africa's most stable nations into chaos. A recount may be needed to clear the air. Some people in Kabul, Afghanistan had died due to tainted meat. According to a CTV news report, eight Afghans who had ate an infected camel as part of a religious celebration, had died of what health experts suspect is a rare case of naturally occurring anthrax. The deaths happened in the southwestern province of Nimroz, where two men in a remote area of southwest Afghanistan along the border with Iran had tried to sell a sick camel. When nobody bought the sick camel, the men killed it and they distributed some of the meat to needy families, as is the Muslim custom during the holiday of Eid al-Adha. All the people who had ate the camal meat, died 12 hours later. Anthrax, an acute infectious disease caused by a spore-forming bacterium, occurs in wild and domestic animals like cattle, sheep, goats and camels, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. People should never eat meat from a sick animal. Latest news is that the IDF had intercepted explosives agent marked as EU Aid. Potassium Nitrate is a banned substance in Gaza, Judea and Samaria region due to its use by terrorists for the manufacturing of explosives and Kassam rockets. The IDF had intercepted 6.5 tons of a bomb-making agent that was stored in sugar bags marked as humanitarian aid from the European Union. The IDF (Israel Defence Force) had found 6.5 tons of Potassium Nitrate, the main ingredient in explosives manufacturing, was intercepted in a joint Shabak (General Security Service) and IDF operation last month. A truck was caught at one of the crossing points in Judea and Samaria carrying the Potassium Nitrate, which was disguised in sugar bags, and was intended for use by terrorists in Gaza. A Fatah terrorist opened fire at IDF soldiers who had come to make an arrest. The man was once the bodyguard of former PA Prime Minister and current chief negotiator Ahmed Qurei. The soldiers returned fire, killing the bodyguard, Moazzem Sherif. The incident took place in Bituniya, west of Ramallah. This bit of news once again undercuts the credibility of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, U.S. President George W. Bush, Condoleezza Rice, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, the U.N. and those "Peace Now" peace niks who are pushing for an independent Palestinian state for these terrorists. To think that even our own Government has pleded to give more aid to the Palestinian terrorists. Canada had already given $30 million during the last fiscal year and an additional $8 million to the Palestinian terrorists. Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier says that his Government wants to see an independent state for these Palestinians, with internationally recognized borders. Now I know what President George W. Bush's fight against terrorists is really all about. On the Afghanistan front, another Canadian soldier was killed and four of our soldiers were wounded in the blast, which occurred this morning. The dead soldier has been identified as Gunner Jonathan Dion, 27, of the 5th Regiment d'Artillerie legere du Canada, which is based in Valcartier, Que. The cause of this recent killing was from a roadside bomb which exploded as the troops were out on routine patrol in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province. I wonder if some of that money which Harper is giving to the Palestinian terrorists, is going to help the Taliban in their fight in Afghanistan. Who really knows? I would not be the least surprise if something like that was going on in their fight against the infidels.

Lakota Sioux wants to withdraw from treaty with the USA

Dec. 30th, 2007; The Descendants of Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse want to break away from US. Lakota Sioux representatives declared sovereign nation status on Wednesday, December 19th in Washington D.C. following Monday’s withdrawal from all previously signed treaties with the United States Government. The withdrawal was hand delivered to Daniel Turner, Deputy Director of Public Liaison at the State Department, immediately and irrevocably ends all agreements between the Lakota Sioux Nation of Indians and the United States Government outlined in the 1851 and 1868 Treaties at Fort Laramie, Wyoming. "This is an historic day for our Lakota people. United States colonial rule is at its end!" declared Russell Means, of Itacan of Lakota. "Today is a historic day and our forefathers speak through us. Our Forefathers made the treaties in good faith with the sacred Canupa and with the knowledge of the Great Spirit,” shared Garry Rowland from Wounded Knee. “They never honored the treaties, that’s the reason we are here today.” For more information on this issue, log on to Lakota Sioux to see what the representatives have to say.

One of the activist for the Lakota is Russell Means. You can hear him discuss the Lakota Nation's withdrawal from the United States. The Lakota is the native word for one of the 3 nations of the "Sioux" tribe, the other 2 are known as the Nakota, and Dakota. Russel Means is well known amoung the Lakota Nation , and is a very courageous activist. However; He has twice run for President of his particular part of the Lakota Nation and lost both times. The Lakota have an elected leadership and this initiative has not come from them. So far, some groups have remained silent and others have citicised the move. While politics can be very dangerous and some people are terrified as a result of Russel Means actions and his group despite having both respect and sympathy for his aims.

Alex White Plume, who is the former tribal chief of the Ogalala Sioux Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, is, along with his wife are fervent activists for Indian causes who are fighting federal intrusions on Indian land, has come out to declare that; "We are in Washington DC to withdraw from the constitutionally mandated treaties to become a free and independent country. We are alerting the Family of Nations we have now reassumed our freedom and independence through the backing of International, and United States law. Copies of the same declaration, will be delivered to the United Nations and to state and county governments who are directly involved and are covered by the treaties, including treaties which were signed in 1851 and 1868. We're willing to negotiate with any American political entity". The United States could well face international pressure if it doesn't agree to negotiate. Alex White Plume said; "The United State of America is an outlaw nation, we now know. We've understood that as a people for 155 years." Alex White Plume wife, Debra White Plume, has been an activist most of her adult life, beginning with the standoff at Wounded Knee in 1973, through several succeeding years of a bloody "reign of terror" during which she was shot for speaking candidly about her views. She is a frequent lobbyist in Washington DC for Indian causes in general and for her people. Alex, has been a successful rancher and entrepreneur. I can understand the frustration the First Nation People have towards the US government. The First Nation People have a long history of having been shafted at every turn by the "Christian" white man, ever since they had set their foot upon North and South America. In colonial America, France, with relatively few settlers, showed little interest in land acquisition and generally utilized Native negotiating forms, such as wampum belts, native style councils, and formal alliances, to accomplish their diplomatic goals. Spain and England were more formally legalistic, and more interested in acquiring land. They preferred written agreements and adopted Native forms to "seal" their bargains. The United States had negotiated a number of treaties with Indian nations, usually involving either alliance or through armistice. Many of these early treaties reflected the negotiating pattern of the First Nation People. Treaties such as the Delawares, on 17 September 1778, proved to be a watershed. Utilizing legal language and enumerated articles, it set the pattern for most future treaties between the United States and the First Nation People. It specified cession boundaries, annuity payments, and the roles of Indian agents and chiefs, and it was negotiated with an eye to European legal forms. Treaties that the U.S. government had made with the First Nation People were often not recognized or were often unforceable which lead to the breaking of such treaties. In the years immediately after the Revolution, the rather weak United States had trouble controlling people who came to this land to settle. Particularly troublesome to many of the First Nation People was the assertion of settlers and government officials that the lands belonged to the new nation by right of conquest from Britain. Britain had not consulted with its unconquered Indian allies, before negotiating with the Americans, and these Native nations resisted American claims of hegemony. Indian military victories at Kekionga (modern Fort Wayne, Indiana) in 1790 and the upper Wabash (near modern Edgerton, Ohio) in 1791 forced American leaders to abandon the claim of conquest and instead to seek peaceful land purchases through treaties. But the reluctance to sell their lands to the white people made it essential that the United States forced the natives to fight in order to win a military victory to get the proud nations of the First Nation People to negotiate for their lands. They often used a tactic whereby they would get their own people to look and dress like Indians and attacked their own settlers so that they had an excuse to make war against the First Nation People. It is a well documented historical fact that the USA, that fine Christian nation, has a long history of stealing native lands and reneging on treaties they had made with the First Nation People.

Click to the Ogalala Sioux tribe community of Pine Ridge for further information.

I also present for you the web site of THE GREAT SIOUX NATION; LAKOTA - DAKOTA - NAKOTA. This web site is full of information on anything you may want to know about the Sioux Nation.

Here is the web site to the ASSEMBLY OF FIRST NATIONS in Canada. Maby the First Nation People ought to take a leaf from the "Palestinians", and be as cagey and crafty as they are, in order to get the Canadian Government to give $238 million towards an independent state with internationally recognized borders for the First Nation People. The ASSEMBLY OF FIRST NATIONS should see Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier, being that his department has money to freely give. His department had provided $200 million in additional support for reconstruction and development in Afghanistan, which is a Moslem nation. They also gave $30 million to the so-called "Palestinian" Arab people, during the last fiscal year. In July of this year, Canada gave an additional $8 million to those Palestinian, Arab terrorists. The First Nation People have a legitimate claim to wanting an independent state with internationally recognized borders. Unlike the so-called "Palestinian" people, who's claims are based upon pretense and lies in their claims for an independent state.

Bhutto's son to be successor to slain Pakistani opposition leader

Benazir Bhutto's 19-year old son, Bilawal Bhutto, has been appointed chairman of his late mother's opposition party in Pakistan. Bilawal Bhutto, at a news conference with his father, Asif Ali Zardari, and party president Amin Fahim. Benazir Bhutto is in his first year of studying law at Oxford University, his mother's alma mater. It will be some years before he can hope to take office on the national political scene. Under Pakistani law, he cannot run for a seat in parliament until he is 25 years old and cannot serve as prime minister until he is 35. The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) announced its decision on Sunday, three days after Benazir Bhutto's assassination in the city of Rawalpindi. The party named her widower, Asif Ali Zardari, as co-chairman. Zardari was a minister in one of Bhutto's short-lived governments and had also faced corruption charges, along with his wife, after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif came to power in 1990. "I will stand as a symbol of the federation," Bilawal Bhutto blurted out to reporters at his family's home in Naudero. "The party's long and historic struggle for democracy will continue with renewed vigour, and I stand committed to the stability of the federation. My mother always said democracy is the best revenge." That may be so, but not when its government is infested with corruption in order to feather the nest of the Bhutto dynasty!

HAPPY NEW YEAR?

Dec. 31st, 2007; Well, here we are at the end of the year for 2007 CE, according to our Canadian tradition. By midnight, we will be entering a new year, without a bang, I hope. I was pleasantly surprised to have received a $25 Gift Food Card from the Board, Management & Staff of DTSSAB. This Gift Card will allow me to get a whole turkey or roast beef or ham which I normally could not afford to buy. I think I will get the ham so I can give Buddy the big bone that come with the ham so he can chew on it. I know he would like that. I also got a nice gift from my volunteer work, and from Robert, a person whom I had helped learn basic computing. All this makes for a nice ending for the year of 2007. Speaking of the year 2007, it has been inundated with a lot of bad news. We had seen turmoil, killings and natural disasters on our news reports, which will no doubt continue into the new year. Christian ministries with their phony, man-made pagan god will no doubt be trying to fleece as much money they can from their members. We might be heading into an election in February or May of 2008 CE. I think that Stephen Harper and his PC party will have a good chance to win the upcoming election despite that Harper intends to keep our Canadian troops in Afghanistan, a Moslem country, and is helping to support those so-called "Palestinian", Fatah terrorist with all the funding he is giving them. George W. Bush will also be facing an election in 2008, though I do not think he will get back into the presidential saddle. Not the way he had lied to people, and the botched-up job he had done in representing the wishes of the American people. If we get another winter next year, like we have this year, that may shut up the hysteria coming from those who are claiming that they can actually change the effects of "Global warming" that may be coming. I see that we are ever increasingly slipping down that slippery slope to becoming a "Police State", a society under a dictatorship, headed by a form of Canadian Fascist political system, with all the anti-this, and anti-that, legislations that is ever increasingly whittling away our GOD given freedoms. Which our war veterans and those who had died for those freedoms we once knew and enjoyed. Given what we can expect this coming New Year, we sure can use a little good news, and I do not mean that phony Christian crap! My New Year resolution I made for myself was to forget about that perverted pagan Christian religion and not mention it in the new year. I will see how far into the year I can keep that resolution! Anyway; Despite the potentially negative outlook for the coming year, I hope that somehow, we can all muddle through, come what may, and all have a Happy New Year.

A NEW YEAR

Jan. 1st, 2008; Well, we are now in a new year. A year full of challenges that may come my way and obstacles I will no doubt have to face and overcome. That is what life is all about, isn't it? Today is a nice crisp, cold sunny day so Buddy and I took a walk down to the lake. I see there are snowmobile tracks heading out on the lake and I notice there is one ice fishing shack out there. It must be safe enough now to take Buddy out on the frozen lake and pull the sled. Last year, we had to wait until nid-Febuary to go out on the lake when it would be frozen enough to be safe. By the time we got back home, the leg of ham was fully cooked. I carved out the big bone from the ham and gave it to Buddy as a special little treat. Seeing him gnawing on it, I could tell he is one happy camper. I cut for myself a generous portion of ham, and added some potatoes and mixed vegetables and dug into this little feast. I had also given Buddy a good chunk of the thick pig skin which he really enjoyed chewing on it. A little extra bonus for him. I set some of this pig skin aside and put it in the freezer for later use. He will get it after he gets back from a day of sledding. I don't want to spoil him too much. After that fine meal, I was quite contented and settled in my easy chair with a cup of coffee and a cigarette and looked at the "Year in Review" on CTV. What a great way to start off the year 2008 CE.
