The developement of oil production with its pipelines, will no doubt greatly effect the caribou herds, and disrupt their natural migration paths and the areas where the caribou have their offspring. I came across some interesting bit of information I had not been aware of, through the Tamar Yonah radio show on Israel National Radio , that there are some people in Alaska, who want to ceased from the union of the USA. While I may differ with Tamar and other Israeli's concerning religious matters, I see eye to eye with her when it comes to the nation of Israel, and find Tamar Yonah to be a very level-headed women who, among other people, are trying to save Israel from its destruction by the policies of the USA, the UN and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, "Peace Plan", and wanting Israel to ceased from being a vassal state of the USA. It is exactily what the Lakota Sioux nation and some Alaskan people want to do. All these people want to declare cessation from being a vassal state with the USA Union. 3 skiers were missing after a B.C. avalanche occured nearby Kelowna, B.C. As many as three people are believed missing after an avalanche at the Big White Ski Resort which is located near Kelowna, B.C. Emergency crews and police found two skiers partially buried in the snow and were taken to a patrol hut to be examined and were later released without injury. Officials continued searching for missing skiers. Unconfirmed reports from people claim that a 21-year old male snowboarder is missing. Officials are not sure if the snowboarder was on the part of the mountain where the avalanche had occurred or if he was even in the area. The search was called off at the avalanche area when it got dark but the search will continue at first light. Meanwhile, a search will be conducted throughout the resort's buildings, bars and restaurants for the missing snowboarder. Search crews have found a body where the 22-year-old snowboarder went missing.The missing snowboarder, Australian Lee Barnier, was a staff member at the Big White ski resort. "He was snowboarding with friends and just before 10 a.m. that morning, he decided to go off on his own," Michael Ballingall, the resort's senior vice president, told CTV Newsnet on Monday. Three other people have died from separate avalanches since the weekend, including a Quebec skier who was killed on Monday.

A strong earthquake had rocked the Greek capital of Athens during Sunday night, shortly after midnight. A magnitude 6.1 earthquake shook buildings and woke up many residents from their sleep. The earthquake was also felt in many other parts of the mainland and on outlying islands, but there were no immediate reports on casualties or damage. Seismologists are trying to identify the epicentre of the earthquake, with initial reports suggesting it was in southern Greece.

Boy, the USA is really getting clobbered by these winter storms! As people in California and other West Coast states were already trying to cope with huge amounts of snow and rain, weather forecasters are claiming that a new winter storm system will hit the US in the next few days. A lot of snow has already piled up in some regions while powerful floods are having a devestating impact upon other regions in the USA. Rescuers search a neighborhood in Fernley on Saturday after a canal levee had ruptured from heavy rainfall. No deaths were reported, but a great many homes were compleatly flooded when the levee had ruptured its banks. High winds, snow and rain had also hit Oregon, Nevada, Washington, and our own British Columbia. More of the same type of weather is expected on Sunday and Monday, though it is expected that the volume of snow and rain will be lighter. But a stronger storm system is heading towards the West Coast and people can expect to feel the brunt of this new storm by Tuesday. As much as a meter more of snow or rain could hit the entire area by Tuesday evening, U.S. Weather Service said. At least three deaths have been blamed on the winter storm. One woman had died on Saturday when her pickup truck was swept into a flood channel east of Los Angeles, police said. Rescuers found her boyfriend clinging to a tree.

Two more Canadian soldiers are added to the death list when they were killed on Sunday, when their light armored vehicle had rolled over in rough terrain near Kandahar City. Military officials claim the incident was not related to any enemy fire.

U.S. president George Bush is going to the Middle East to forge the destruction of Israel with his big peace deal with Muslim terrorists groups before he leaves office. George Bush is expected to face security issues after the Muslim terrorist group, al Qaeda has threatened to kill him. In a video posted on the Internet, Adam Gadahn, a California-born convert to Islam, had urged followers of Islam to welcome Bush to the Middle East this week with bombs and traps. Gadahn is also known as Azam the American , though he had tore up his American passport. Gadahn, is believed to be hiding somewhere in Pakistan. I wonder how many more Americans have converted to Islam? It seems that Americans have fellow American Islamic terrorists to contend with, who were stupid enough to be sucked into that Islam religion. Though we have a lot of Canadians who had likewise been duped. In a 2002 commentary in the Washington Times, stated that "Politico-religious extremists in Canada and America will wake up to the existence of an Islamic army in their midst. An army of jihadis who will force people to listen to the voice of their pagan god, Allah. In that same article, it claimed that a number of criminals are being recruited for this Islamic army. Statistics Canada reports that 253,260 Canadians have been identified as being Muslims (0.9% of the total population) during a 1991 census. Other surveys estimated that there were as many as 500,000 - 650,000 Muslims in Canada.

January 7, 2008; Well, last night our hydro power was down for a while because of a transformer which had caught on fire. I had a battery lantern and candles on hand and I listen to the radio, which is also battery powered, to find out about the blackout. I took Buddy outside since there was nothing else to do. The night was warm for this time of tear, and it was black as black as can be without any street lights on. I noticed that some shops had those emergency lights on. I also noticed that New Liskeard city lights were still twinkling, during this blackout. They are on a separate hydro power grid. I met other people who had the same idea and were walking about with flashlights in hand. Maby we can have a block party, I joked, as we chatted for awhile. I had been doing some writing on my computer when the blackout had struck so suddenly. I had lost all the work I had done because I was not able to save it before this unexpected blackout. I had thought that maby some power lines had broken due to freezing rain, but it was too warm outside for that possibility to happen. Anyway, it was not that long before we got back our power and everything was back to normal.

There is a warning out about the "Sunbeam" flashlight type battery which may be a fire hazard and can even explode while trying to remove it from a toy or equipment compartment. It is best not buy that brand, and if you have such batteries, get rid of them. Report any hazards you may encounter with these batteries to local police or public health authorities.

Driverless cars may be road ready by 2018, according to a GM chief executive. This is not science fiction. Much of the technology already exists for vehicles to take over the wheel. We already have radar-based cruise control, motion sensors, lane-change warning devices, electronic stability control and satellite-based digital mapping. The automated vehicles could dramatically improve life on the road, reducing crashes and congestion. Other challenges include updating vehicle codes and figuring out who would be liable in a crash and how to cope with blown tires or obstacles on the road. The only significant obstacles facing the vehicles could be government regulation because there are some very fundamental, basic regulations at present that are in the way of this becoming a reality. Then there are liability laws and privacy concerns to contend with. GM plans to use an inexpensive computer chip and an antenna to link vehicles equipped with driverless technologies. The first use of these "driverless" cars will likely be used more on highways rather than on city streets for the time being. People would still have the option to choose to control their own vehicle on highways, roads and streets whenever they want. I think it will be very hard for a lot of nervous people to let this kind of automation have total control over their car, while it is driving on its own. Personally, I think it would take some time for people to be able to relax and fully trust the car that can drive on its own without human intervention.

A new Federal report calls for a carbon tax. A federal report recommends that Canada must put a price tag on carbon emissions and quickly develop a carbon tax or trading system to target emitters. This report is nothing new, it is what that UN Kyoto protocol has been advocating for the past years. I find it strange that Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion has flatly opposed the idea of a carbon tax, being that he is so gun-ho on that UN Kyoto Protocol. According to this so-called "new" report, they claim that; " Whether it's capping carbon emissions or charging for them, the key is for government to start moving now. If we wait too long Canada will not meet its Keoto targets. Delay has many risks, including higher cumulative emissions, a steeper carbon price down the road and increased economic costs". Dale Marshall, a climate change policy analyst with the Suzuki Foundation, said in a press release. What do they intend to do? Tax people who use gas driven devices like cars, trucks and diesel driven trains for starters? What will they slap a tax on next? Chainsaws, lawn mowers, snowmobiles and ATV's just to name a few carbon emissions products we use daily. I think it is people like Dale Marshall, and the UN Kyoto Protocol with its climate change policy, along with David Suzuki and his Foundation and those environmentalists which had some input in helping greedy oil companies to find excuses to raise the price of gas and diesel fuels to what they are today. People can thank the greedy oil companies, along with the international UN Kyoto Protocol clicks and environmentalists for the high cost of heating your home, the increase price on food, on gas and diesel and everyday products we generally use on a daily bases. Maby they should take these people and put them on some deserted island so they can tax their own people to death! When the bottom line come's to hitting people's pocket book who are struggling to just survive, that whole UN Kyoto Protocol and those environment issues can damn well take a back seat on what is more important on peoples mind.

According to IsraelNN.com News sources, the Islamic Jihad in Gaza has claimed responsibility for an unusual attack involving PA-terrorists attempting to mislead soldiers that they were just a loving couple holding hands, who were just out on a stroll. When the so-called "loving couple" was in close proximity of an IDF position, they both drew their firearms and shot at the IDF soldiers who were stationed there. IDF forces quickly returned fire, killing both of the enemy gunmen. No Israelis soldiers were injured in the attack. The incident took place near Nisanit, adjacent to the Gaza region's Erez border crossing in northern Gaza. The pretend "lovers" were residents under the Palestinian Authority. The female terrorist was later identified as Usma Abu Fanuna of Nuseirat, in PA-controlled Gaza. Soldiers found explosives on her body after the attack. Isn't this just like the "pretend" bold claims of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas wanting to make "peace" with Israel? If that was not enough action for one day, a second attack had taken in the same region, though it was later in the day. PA terrorists had opened fire on a group of Israeli journalists. The four journalists, working for various news agencies, were standing on a hill near the Erez Crossing when they came under attack. "The bullets whizzed past our legs," one journalist said. None of the journalists were hurt in the shooting, but a car they were using was hit by several bullets. IDF sources said the bullets appear to have been fired from a heavy machine gun, rather than from the standard light assault rifles commonly used by PA terrorist cells. By these two examples alone, it is plain to see that Palestinians offer nothing but death and violence. And to think that Canada, the UN and the USA are giving aid to these people. That must be the new meaning on the "War on Terrorism" that George W. Bush, the UN and Canada must be talking about. What a bunch of hypocrites!

Violence flares up at a Naples dump, because Naples has a dump crisis. In Naples, which is part of the EU, has a trash disposal problem that is hard to solve. There have been no waste collections for more than two weeks in Naples and more than 100,000 tones of rubbish lies rotting in the streets creating a real health risk. What is the problem? The lack of space at dumps has caused trash problems in Naples for the past decade. In Pianura, a suburb of Naples, residents say the landfill site is a health risk. Even the clothes that is being hung out to dry, smelled of garbage. For the past 12 years, the air becomes so unbreathable when the wind blows the garbage stench on the city of Naples. Late Monday night, protesters continued to march at a closed dump in the suburb of Pianura to protest against the degraded conditions of the garbage-collecting system. Apparently the garbage disposal is run by Camorra, the Neapolitan version of the Mafia, which has turned rubbish collection into a hugely profitable business. They have sabotaged every effort to build hi-tech incinerators, so that Naples must rely on landfill sites, where they can hide domestic and industrial waste. Authorities blame organized crime infiltration of garbage collection services and disorganized bureaucracy for this garbage crisis. As well, protesters have blocked plans to create new dumps or reopen old sites. A lot of Naples untreated garbage and highly toxic waste has been illegally dumped in the countryside, and even in the sea. The EU is warning there will be tough penalties unless Italy resolves the crisis this week. Italy's PM Romano Prodi has promised that a "radical" solution will be found within the next 24 hours. Finding a solution to the problem means tackling the mob. This is something that Premier Romano Prodi and his government ministers are unwilling to do. In the meantime, protesters continue to clash with the Italian police in the city of Naples in a dispute over where they can dispose their rubbish. To think that the EU, and especially the UN, who wants to be the "New World Order" are unable to solve and put a lid on this garbage crisis, say's very little about the big New World Order plan. Those once independent countries with their uniqe culture have now become nothing more than a mixed culture, melting pot vassel states of the EU, vis a vis the UN, New World Order plan. That is some incentive to get other countries to join the EU, or the great New World Order plan.

The son and successor of slain Pakistani political leader Benazir Bhutto accused the government of not providing enough security for her. "It is our belief that had she been provided adequate protection, she would be alive today," Bilawal Bhutto told a news conference in London on Tuesday. After having looked at the film footage of Benazir Bhutto assassination, I recall that Benazir Bhutto had choosen to stand through the sun roof of her vehicle with her head and torso completely exposed. Had Benazir Bhutto not been so stupid to unnecessarily expose herself by standing through the sun roof of the armored vehicle she was riding in, she would not have given an opportunity for an assassination attempt on her life and she would still be alive today. If Benazir Bhutto had half a brain, given her vast experience and knowlage on the political situation in Pakistan, she would not have stood through the sun roof of her vehicle. Her downfall was her own ego, which had made her varnable to an attack. Bhutto had somewhat naively dismissed the threats of assassination, despite that there was already an assassination attempt on her life. For some strange reason, she was still holding onto the idea that no true Muslim would attack her because Muslims are forbidden to attack women and innocent people, and are also prohibited from suicide attacks. I am aware that Muslims are attacking Muslims (Shia and Sunni ) in many parts of the Muslim world. That Muslims attack and murder their wives and daughters. Where did Benazir Bhutto get such a stupid idea that Muslims would not attack or murder a women? Had she not read newspapers or watched the news on television on what was going on in the world, particularly in Iraq, in Afghanistan or in Israel where Muslims are killing innocent people all the time? Give me a break!
