April 1st. 2008; Today is April fools day so watch out for the tricksters who will try to pull the wool over your eyes. The weather had warmed up to the degree that the snow was starting to melt at last. Unfortunately, winter is not quite over, because there was a Winter storm warning for last night and all day today for the Kirkland Lake - New Liskeard and Temagami area. Last night when I brought Buddy out to do his toilet, it was snowing heavly as had been predicted by the weather forecast. Though the snow was quit heavy at times, it fell gently with little wind. This morning it is raining quite hard. I had to shovel the snowy slush off the walkway. All that snow which had accumulated throughout the night, mixed with this heavy downpore, had made a real slushy mess. It didn't take long for Buddy and I to be totally drenched with the rain. I still have my raincoat packed with my summer things. Looks like I will have to dig out my rain gear today, for it will be greatly needed from now on. We are getting into our spring rainy season. This winter storm was not as bad as the forecast had predicted, at least not around here in our local area.

April 3rd. 2008; We came through that winter storm with little effect. It had snowed, then rained and then snowed again to make a slushy mess for people driving or walking about. Now the sun is shining and is starting to melt that slushy mess. At least we do not have to worry about flooding, for our town is located on a hillside of a large lake where all the melting snow runs down into. Hopefully, that winter storm will be the last winter blast for the season. Most people, including myself, are ready to embrace spring and look forward to warm, sunny summer days. The Mc Cool place which had that fire while I had an apartment there, is getting all fixed up and is looking good. There will be two apartments upstairs, plus an ice cream parlour downstairs, alongside the existing two apartments which had suffered little damage during the fire. People are already living in the two ground level apartments, both of which I had at one point in time once rented. I had been living in the downstairs rear apartment when that fire had started upstairs, a few years ago. I had liked the small apartment facing the street because it has a big store front window to look out of. But I am now content in the apartment I have now. When I took Buddy on a walk down by the waterfront, I notice that all the ice fishing huts are off the lake now. All the ice fishing huts are to be taken off the lake by March 31st. Some were still on the lake after the deadline probably because the ice fishing huts were well frozen in, and the owners had a big job to chop the ice around their huts to extricate them from their frozen bondage. From the look of the snow we have, it will take at least a couple of weeks for it all to melt. Right now, there is a huge mound of snow in front of the garage door, so I can't get to the garage and give my lawn tractor its annual spring tune-up. But with the sun and rain, it won't be too long before I can do that needed work.

The proposal sale of MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates of Richmond, B.C., has been strongly denounced by Canadians. Like the Avro Arrow, MDA is another one of Canada's crown jewels, in the "aviation and space" industry. After taxpayers had pumped hundreds of millions of dollars into the company to build it up as Canada's premier space technology firm, it is being bought, like what was done with the Avro Arrow by Americans. For those people who were not around during the 1950's, the Canadian CF-105 Arrow was a delta-wing interceptor aircraft, designed and built by Canadians under the Avro Aircraft Limited (Canada) in Malton, Ontario, Canada, as the culmination of a design study that began in 1953. Considered to be both an advanced technical and aerodynamic achievement for the Canadian aviation industry, the CF-105 had reached Mach 2 speeds at 50,000 ft+ altitude, and was intended to serve as the Royal Canadian Air Force's interceptor for the 1960s and beyond. Unfortunately, Conservative John Diefenbaker sold out to the Americans when he had shut down the Avro Arrow. During that same time, the Americans were struggling to reach Mach 1 speeds for their Air Force. After Diefenbaker had ordered the shut down of the Avro Arrow, Americans were suddenly able to get their jets to reach Mach 2 speeds. It was claimed at that time that all of the technology that went into the Avro Arrow was destroyed. Isn't it strange that after the Avro Arrow was supposedly destroyed, the Americans were finally and quite sudden like, had their own jets reaching Mach 2 speeds. It does not take a brain surgeon to figure out where they got that sudden technology breakthrough. It is utterly absurd that our Canadian government are funding another American takeover of our prized Canadian technology and intellectual achievements. This whole thing reeks of pork barrel politics and reminds me of a strong-armed American intervention a few decades ago that saw the demise of the Avro Arrow. That Avro Arrow incident is still a very sore spot with a great many Canadians even after all these years, and I think Canada deserve better. For once will our politicians have the courage and tell the Americans that our high tech industry, which Canadians had developed, Canadians had paid for it through their taxes, and Canadians own it, and it's not for sale. We are already selling off most of our raw natural resources, lets not add scientific ingenuity to the pile. We lost some of our best scientific people when our Canadian government sold out the Avro Arrow to the Americans. I hope that our politicians put a stop to the sale of MDA. It is time for our politicians to stop playing partisan games and stand up to protect what is ours!! It is our tax dollars that had funded this company, and I do not think the Canadian taxpayer wants this technology in the hands of a foreign country, least of all to an American Munitions company. If this sale goes through despite the huge amount of protest by the majority of Canadians, then we might as well give everything away that is Canadian and remove the Canadian flag from Parliament Hill, remove the Canadian border and raise the American flag and become Americans. Our Canadian politicians like Progressive Conservative John Diefenbaker and Brian Baloney, excuse me, I meant Mulroney, are great at selling Canadians down the traitorous tube.

April 5th. 2008; This morning it is such a bright sunny, warm day that I will take Buddy out on a long walk in the woods where he is able to run around freely without having a leash on him. Yesterday, a dear friend of mine had come to visit and had made me take notice that Buddy had gained a lot of weight. I had not noticed that Buddy had gained so much weight over the winter months, until another person had to point it out to me. I will have to put him on a strict diet and stop giving him all those little treats he is so used to getting throughout the day. That will be very hard thing to do, because he such a wonderful companion. I will have to make sure to take Buddy out on more of these long walks in the woods so he can get the much needed exercise, and hopefully, he will shed some of those added pounds.

April 7th. 2008; This morning is a bright sunny day. We did not get the expected rain, which would have helped to wash away the pile of snow that is everywhere. Yesterday, Buddy and I walked to Temiskaming Lodge to visit friends who reside there. I spent some time with John who is anxious to wet his fishing line. John is a prolific angler. We have spent a lot of time together on these fishing outings. I had been informed that some people I know at the lodge had passed away. One person was only 43 years old. It made me aware how fragile we really are. We fail to realize how precious and fortunate we really are to have had the opportunity to live our lives here on Earth. It is truly a gift of GOD.

April 9th. 2008; The other night, we had a very brief thunderstorm that amounted to nothing, though it did help get rid of some snow around here. I notice that most of that big pile of snow that was blocking the garage door is only a little pile now. That snow should be all gone in a few days, by the look of things. I am hoping that spring is here at last. During a conversation I was having with a friend, he had informed me that the Prime Minister of Israel, Ehud Olmert, is going to grant amnesty to thousands of illegal Arabs who are presently residing in Judea and Samaria. I told my friend that I no longer have any interest in what is going on in Israel. Though I cannot help but feel sorry for the Jewish people living there. Instead of making things better for the Jewish people in Israel, Olmert is only making things worse for them. The Jewish people in Israel seem to be their own worst enemy. Nothing that goes on around there, makes any sense. The people are as much in contradiction to the Will of GOD, as is their religion.

April 10th. 2008; Yesterday, I had to go to the hospital at Kirkland Lake to have a sty removed from one of my eyelids which was causing that eyelash to rub against my eye. That condition felt like I had something caught on my eye, which caused me to rub it away, from time to time to get rid of it. The surgery was done by my good eye doctor, Dr.Sales and it was a complete success. I was extremely fortunate to have obtained Dr.Sales as my eye doctor. With that sty removed, I no longer feel like something is rubbing against my eye. Yesterday was supposed to be a sunny day according to the weather forecaster, but what we got, was a continual rainy day. By late evening, it began to snow. After the eye surgery was over, at around 1:30 pm, I had a lot of time on my hands. I had to wait for the 10:20 pm bus to take me back to Haileybury. So I walked around the town of Kirkland Lake when the rain let up a little, to see the sights. I had never been to Kirkland Lake before. Kirkland Lake is a mining town, located north from Haileybury, in Northeastern Ont. It is an important gold-mining center. Gold was discovered there in 1911 and again in the 1980s at Harker. Mining of iron ore and tourism are the two most important industries in Kirkland Lake. The very first thing I had noticed about the people of Kirkland Lake, they had retained its frontier hospitality despite that it is a modern town. The local people would say Hi to you, when you walked by. I had managed to walk from one end of town to the other, before I got totally saturated from the rain. I found the people of Kirkland Lake to be friendly and very helpful to strangers. The other thing I had noticed about Kirkland Lake, there were a lot of shops that were closed down. For the past ten years or so, Kirkland Lake had suffered from the closing down of its gold mines. But with gold fetching higher prices now, new start-ups of gold mines in the region are beginning to revive these mining communities to their former glory, so I am told. Because of the rain, I was not really able to see all what was there. I ended up going to the public library and bought some books and headed to the bus station to wait for my bus to take me back to Haileybury. During my wait, I went to the local Mc Donald’s and Tim Horton, where the town’s people tend to congregate and it gave me the chance to sample their demeanor. I can see that I would easily fit right in with these people, if I happen to get some wilderness land around their local area, being that I am an ex-gold miner myself. I had noticed that they had an old mucking machine on display in one of their town parks. The very same kind I had once operated in the gold mines in Red Lake, Ont. Those were the days I remember so well. I had worked, on and off, in-between my adventure jaunts, as a gold miner during my younger years. That was how I had managed to finance some of those Central and South American adventure trips, some of which ended up as miss-adventure excursions. I could always rely on getting work at the mines when I had to come back to Canada, from those adventure expeditions. I got on the bus at 10:20 pm and arrived home by 12 midnight. It had snowed during the entire drive home. Buddy was sure glad to see me. Irene had let Buddy in my apartment, as she said she would, before they went home for the day. I was glad to be back home again.

April 13th. 2008; This morning it is -3°C although it feels more like -10°C with the wind blowing at 28km/h, gusting to 37km/h from the NW. Yesterday, it had snowed that I had to shovel the walkway. While taking Buddy out to do his toilet; I inspected the entrance to the garage door. Most of the pile of snow had gone that I was able to get inside and look around. We are expecting to get warmer weather this week, so I will wait until then before I start the spring tune-up work on the lawn tractor. Being that today is a chilly, windy day, I decided to look at the 13 part series of VHF tapes I had bought at the public library in Kirkland Lake, titled; Civilization. It reviews the epic tale of humanities evolution of civilization. It explores 16 centuries of humankind's most glorious achievements and darkest days. The video touches subjects on architecture, art, philosophy, literature, religion and music, from ancient Greece, to the collapse of the Roman Empire, through the Dark Age, the Age of Enlightment and on to the industrial revolution, and ends up to our present modern age. The Civilization series, graphically depicted the rise and fall of human endeavors to break free from social, religious or political bondage, which had for the most part, had lead humanity on a wild rollor-coaster ride of human carnage and suffering, in between times of relitive peace. I could not help think that in our present modern age, it will be the very technological breakthroughs in communication and surveillance which will bring about the tidal wave of a New World Order which will once again enslave humanity through a new form of global dictatorship. The powers that be, purposefully use the opportunity to enact legislation, upon legislation, or create disorder so that people will clamor for greater order and safety. The price for this order and safety, always entails the relinquishing of control and power, which always translate to the loss of freedom for its citizenry. Out of Chaos comes Order. Hummmm; Where have I heard that before....

I see that Governments are once again bringing more legislation against tobacco users. It is bad enough that they have amended the Tobacco Control Act which bans smoking in public and work places, at outdoor patios of restaurant and bars and near doorways. Now they are working to ban smoking at bus stops and ban the open display of tobacco and tobacco products in stores. So they will have some New World Order Gestapo "Tobacco Enforcement Officers" to make sure that people comply. In the meantime, I do not see anyone in Parliament who is interested enough to bring in legislation that would cancel that "notwithstanding" clause found in Section 33(1) of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms which permits Parliament or a provincial legislature to adopt legislation to override section 2 of the Charter, which contains such fundamental rights as freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, freedom of association and freedom of assembly, and sections 7-15 of the Charter containing the right to life, liberty and security of the person, freedom from unreasonable search and seizure, freedom from arbitrary arrest or detention, the right to equality, and a number of other legal rights to better protect Canadians and their Charter of Rights and Freedoms! Their silence on this important issue is deafening! Come to think of it, while I am on the subject, I can think of a few rights and freedoms to add to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Such as the freedom to use tobacco and tobacco products without restrictions, the right to bear arms, the right to freely operate personal, privet vehicles on our roads and waterways, instead of these being only "privileges", granted by the whims of various Governments. Since when did these become privileges? I can't help reflect how similar this situation is to George Orwell's 1945 book, Animal Farm.

I have often heard Jewish people claim that Orthodox Jews do not believe in Satan and demons as Christians do. So what is the excuse here? A Jewish Rabbi, Elior Chen is in his late 20s, has been described as the “spiritual mentor” of a group involved in the systematic abuse of children, allegedly using his status as a Rabbi to convince a mother of eight that her children's shortcomings could be beaten and burned out of them. A 38-year-old mother, whose name has been withheld by police, was indicted on child abuse charges on Sunday. The mother is alleged to have locked her two youngest children in a suitcase for three days, letting them out for only brief periods during that time. She also allegedly shook and beat them, burned their hands with a lighter and a heater, made them take freezing showers and forced them to eat their own feces. The goal, according to police, was to beat the “devils” out of the children. Police stated that Rabbi Elior Chen visited the families and was actively involved in causing mental and bodily harm to the children. “It's very disturbing in terms of what happened to the children and the fact that these people, who consider themselves respectable, were involved in it. Two of the eight children, aged 4 and 5, were hospitalized in serious condition. The four-year-old is still in a coma. Despite multiple operations, he has not regained consciousness, and doctors believe he may remain indefinitely in a vegetative state. Two weeks ago, after Rabbi Chen allegedly ordered two of his followers to hit the children with hammers and light their fingers on fire, as a way of driving out satanic demons and correcting their behaviour. The police raid uncovered 30 notebooks of correspondence between Mr. Chen and his followers, in which he explicitly spelled out how the children should be tortured. In the correspondence Mr. Chen's followers never refer to him by name, calling him instead “His Honor the King of the Messiah.” This driving out demons or the devil sounds very much like what Christians believe. This form of ritual abuse must have been based upon his Jewish religious beliefs. It is known that this type of religious beliefs can be extremely sadistic. It is methodical, which often involves sexual, physical, emotional and spiritual abuse, which often includes mind control, torture, and immoral activities such as child pornography, prostitution and even murder. This type of religious abuse is justified by their religious ideology, which stem from pagan ideas and superstitions. Rabbi Elior Chen is alleged to have flown to Canada where he has relatives. Israel is seeking extradition of the rabbi who is believed to be in Canada. The Canadian Jewish Congress issued a statement calling on Chen, 29, to turn himself over to authorities, if he is in Canada. I hope our police force catches him very soon before Rabbi Elior Chen does harm to our Canadian children.

April 16th. 2008; We are finally getting real spring like weather which seems to be staying around, for a change. We are getting temperatures from 4°C to 22°C for the week. Today I went to work on my lawn tractor. I changed the oil installed its battery and made a good all around inspection. Then I added some leftover gas I had from last year and it fired up instantly. It purred like a kitten. I took it out for a short rum and everything was working well. Then I put it back in the garage. I am a very happy person. I started to think about the different places I can take my canoe to lakes and rivers I have never been to and explore our Northern country. Later, I caught the noon news and I see that Pope Benedict XVI is making headlines in the news with his visit to the U.S.A. Anyway, be that as it may, I am not going to let that incident spoil my looking forward to this spring like weather we are having.

It is amazing that a Florida man, John Kanzius, 63, has found a way to get energy from salt water. John Kanzius was a broadcast engineer who had formerly owned several TV and radio stations, before retiring in Sanibel Island, Fla. During his search for a cancer cure, John Kanzius may have stumbled onto a virtually limitless source of energy, salt water. He may have found the solution to humanities energy needs. Five years ago, John Kanzius, an ordinary person, was diagnosed with a severe form of leukaemia. He began a privet quest to find a kinder, gentler way to treat the disease compared to harsh chemotherapy. In October 2003, he had an found a way to kill cancer with radio waves. He then devised a simple machine using alumninum pie plates that emits radio waves in an attempt to slay cancerous cells, while leaving healthy cells unharmed. His experiments in fighting cancer have become so successful, that one physician was that excited with the news that, thanks to John Kanzius efforts, we could be getting close to getting rid of cancerous cells. But in the midst of Kanzius experiments, he discovered that his machine could do what some may have thought was almost impossible, that is turning water into fuel without having to use huge amounts of energy to produce it. With those same radio waves, John Kanzius found a way to get salt water to burn, and perhaps could be used as a fuel to replace the carbon fuels we are presently using. If this is for real, the possible ramifications of John Kanzius discovery are almost mind-boggling, as cars, planes and anything that runs on fossil fuels, could be fuelled by salt water instead of gasoline or diesel. Hydroelectric plants could be built along the seashore, and homes could be heated with this new energy source without worrying about supplies of oil or the high cost of it. How wonderful that John Kanzius with his brilliant mind and his curiosity which had led him to his wonderful discovery, this double windfall for all of humanity. Thank you John Kanzius. You deserve a medal and recognition for your contribution to humanity.

This evening I took out a VHF tape about Dinosaurs. Th title of the tape was Dinosaurs; The first clue, Tale of a tooth. It was hoasted by Walter Cronkite. It was taped in 1993. It is incredible to think that these amazing beasts had roamed the earth for 150 million years were discovered only 200 years ago. Dinosaurs roamed the earth for millions of years, during the Triassic period to the Late Cretaceous age. The first dinosaur bone ever discovered was found in 1676 in a quarry in England. Several other parts of the dinosaur were found. The first dinosaur species to be identified and named was Iguanodon, discovered in 1822 by the English geologist Gideon Algernon Mantell. Gideon A. Mantell was a humble country doctor from Sussex. Two years later the Rev William Buckland, professor of geology at Oxford University, became the first person to describe a dinosaur in a scientific journal. William Buckland was a British fossil hunter, a clergyman, and an Oxford don (a Reader in Geology and Mineralogy) who discovered a large fossil tooth of a Megalosaurus in 1819 and coin the term Megalosaurus, Greek for "great lizard" in 1824. It was the first dinosaur ever described scientifically and the first theropod dinosaur discovered (theropods were the meat-eating dinosaurs). Buckland always collected his fossils in a large blue bag, which he carried around most of the time. Sir Richard Owen, a Victorian anatomist, was the first to coin the term dinosaur in 1842.
