A Diabolical Mindset

July 31st./2006; This weekend, I had heard the tragic news on my radio during my stay in my tent-cabin of the approximately sixty people who were killed, among them were children when Israeli jets blasted an apartment complex in Lebanon. I also had heard through the news media a great deal of outcry by people who are against Israel for trying to protect itself which led to this tragic turn of events. I had not heard any amount of outcry during this war, from these same protesters on the diabolical tactics used by Hezbollah of deliberately placing their missiles launchers and firing them among their Lebanese civilians which had led to the killing of these sixty civilians, among them many were children. You would think that people at the UN and people throughout the free world would be totally outraged at the tactics that Hezbollah and these Lebanese Moslem people are using in order to gain sympathy for their cause and forcing Israel to unavoidably kill civilians. What kind of people are these Lebanese Moslem people that would deliberately put themselves and their children in harms way? Only people who have a perverted, diabolical mindset. This terrorist organization and its Lebanese Moslem people are far worse than barbarians for using civilians and children as cannon-fodder. Even barbarians would at least try to protect its civilians and their children from harm in a war. No; Hezbollah and these Lebanese Moslem people are so brutal and blinded with hatred for the Jewish people by their ideology and perverted religion that they think nothing about using their civilians, even their children as cannon-fodder to gain sympathy for their cause and force a pre-emptive cease fire. These Lebanese Moslem people have been so brainwashed and have become so devious and are stupid enough to comply with Hezbollah's diabolical tactics. Those protesters who have continually spoken against Israel in this war apparently do not seem to mind or be bothered at all by the brutal, devious, diabolical tactics that Hezbollah and these Lebanese Moslem people are using. Are those people who speak against what Israel is doing, so stupid, so narrow minded? Those protesters must have a warp sense of justice for turning a blind eye to the horrific tactics that this Hezbollah terrorist and its Moslem adherents are using. Those protesters quickly forget all of the many brutal car and suicide bombings that is taking place globally. The blood of a great many civilians and children are on the hands of these people who have been brainwashed from youth, by their religion, clergy and Hezbollah and became the demented, devious, diabolical Moslem people that they are. Where is the outcry by these protesters against those brutal Moslem people? Their silence is deafening! These diabolical Moslem people who had been brainwashed into a perverted religion are the same type of people that are killing our own Canadian troops who are trying to establish a lasting peace in those troubled regions and are trying to liberate these people from their tyrannical rule in Afghanistan, Iraq and in other parts of the world. As I have said, I have a very hard time dredging up any kind of sympathy for those Moslem Lebanese people who comply with and support this Hezbollah terrorist organization. Maybe the only answer in all of this, after having used all efforts to persuade these brainwashed, demented Moslem people to use peaceful means to settle their differences have failed, is to get rid of these people, once and for all, who are causing so much killing, strife and anxiety upon the global society. Sometime, as history have sadly shown us, a military solution is the only alternative left open when dealing with such people who hold to such a devious, perverted, diabolical mindset.

Smoke alarm and quick action saves lives.

Sat. Aug. 22nd. 2006; I had not been able to spend some time on this web site lately because of the fire which had burned our building in which I rent an apartment. The fire had broken out early Monday morning on August 14th at around 3 AM. The fire had started at the living quarters of Mike and Sandra McBride, who are the owners of McCool's Restaurant. Mike, Sandra McBride and their children and everybody else who had lived in the now burning building had vacated it safely, thanks to the smoke alarm and the quick action of Mike and Wanda Jones, who are my neighbor and fellow tenants. Mike Jones had got a short ladder from the side of the building and helped get Mike, Sandra and the children off the second story veranda while Wanda went to the back of the building where my apartment door was located and rapped on my door and informed me that the building was on fire. Buddy and I quickly went out of the building. I saw where the fire was located and knew that I had some time to get some of my camping gear out. I quickly got these and my outboard motor, paddles and life vests and loaded these into the canoe and hauled it away from the burning building. The fire was spreading towards the other end of the building, away from our apartments. Most of the second floor of the building was gutted by the fire. Thanks to the men of the Haileybury volunteer fire department, and the full-time New Liskeard fire department, most of the building was saved. Special thanks goes out to those people who offered to help us while we were standing and watching our building burning. Special thanks also goes out to the O.P.P. officer who had provided us and the volunteers of VCARS with breakfast and provided transportation to the Econo Hotel. VCARS had provided us with hotel rooms at Econo Lodge in New Liskeard. The Econo Hotel has nice clean and cozy rooms and the manager and staff were friendly and helpful. Special thanks also goes out to Mr. Maurice of CMHA for the continued support of providing lodging for us until we, (fire victims), were able to find alternative housing. I also need to thank my case worker, Leslie Symons, Chantel and the rest of the staff at Social services for the help they gave me during this difficult time. Special thanks also goes out to the people of Haileybury who were concerned about my well-being. My neighbors and my apartment which were located on the ground floor had not been touched by the fire. But because the gas, water and electricity had been shut off, we were forced to move from our apartments. I knew that Irene and Woody Wollridge own a building and may have apartments we could rent. Fortunately for us, my neighbor and I were able to rent those apartments from Irene and Woody. We spent the rest of the week moving our things to our new apartments. It had been a hectic and difficult week.

Farr Island Botanical Park Project Cancelled.

Sat. Sept. 2nd. 2006; I have recently been made aware that Farr Island, Haileybury, Ont. is a privately owned Island. It was devestating news to me. Things had been going so well with the Farr Island Botanical Park Project. I had received an e-mail from the owners of Farr Island. Dear Mr. Pall, I was surprised and concerned to run across your posting on the internet about your actions/plans regarding Farr's Island. As one of the two legal owners of this island (which can be confirmed by Mr. Robbie Gordon, lawyer in Haileybury), I would like to hear from you at your earliest convenience. I can be reached by E-mail -------------- or by phone at --------------. Please cease any further development of the island at this time. Sincerely, Gordon S Hayward: I am not the type of person who would deliberately or wantonly invade any property that is privately owned. I had never done such a thing in the past and it was never my intention here. I respect Gorden and Stuart Hayward, the owners of Farr Island and have cease the work I had been doing on the Island during the past years. I have now cancelled the Farr Island Botanical Park Project. I have also informed the owners of Farr Island that I will cease the Farr Island Botanical Park Project and remove, if need be, the tent-cabin, outhouses, big Teepee and landing dock from their island. I have also taken out the Farr Island Botanical Park web pages from my "Town of Haileybury" web site. My only intention was to commemorate the Farr family for their creation of the Town of Haileybury and give the local people a nice place to visit and enjoy. While the Farr Island Botanical Park Project may have ended, I will always cherish the time I had spent on Farr Island.

New City Hall for Temiskaming Shores.

Thurs. Sept. 7th. 2006; The city of Temiskaming Shores has budgeted $3.7 million for the building of a new City Hall that will be located on the Haileybury waterfront according to Tom Wells, who is a city councillor for the City of Temiskaming Shores. According to reports in The Speaker, the main newspaper for the surrounding area, Cy Rheault Construction and B.H. Martin Consultants of Timmins are favored among the three designs that were chosen for the Temiskaming Shores new municipal office building (City Hall). I am glad to see that the representatives of the City of Temiskaming Shores can be trusted to keep their word. It is so much better when people can work together for the common good. The location for the New City Hall is an excellent choice that give a beautiful panoramic view of the Haileybury waterfront and Lake Temiskaming.

Shooting at Dawson College.

Thurs. Sept. 14th. 2006, By now most Canadians have heard about the shooting incident at Dawson College in the city of Montreal. It happened around 1 p.m. yesterday. According to news reports, a 25-year-old man, Kimveer Gill, of Laval, clad in a black trench coat and combat boots, had carried a Baretta CX4 Storm semi-automatic assault rifle and went on a shooting rampage at Dawson College. The collage is located on the corner of Atwater and Sherbrooke in the heart of downtown Montreal, Que. Gill had killed one young woman and wounded 19 other people before committing suicide. Six of the shooting victims are considered to be in critical condition, including two students who received gunshots to the head and are considered in extremely critical condition. When Gill recived a bullet in the arm from police gunfire, he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. Due to the quick action of the local police officers, they had stopped the shooting rampage and had saved many lives. Given the infamous 1989 Montreal massacre when Marc Lepine murdered 14 women at Ecole Polytechnique almost 17 years ago, and the Columbine High School massacre in Littleton, Colo. on April 20, 1999, when two heavily armed teenagers rampage through the school, killing 12 students and one teacher before committing suicide. One has to ask the question, how this could have happened given the lessons that were supposed to have been learned from those kind if tragic events? This Gill fellow had a blog on the Internrt, and posted his thoughts on a vampirefreaks.com, an online goth website which has become a hub for the goth culture. On his own website, he is seen touting a Baretta CX4 Storm semi-automatic assault rifle giving every indication that he was a very troubled person with an ax to grind. His blog, according to the news media, indicated that this person was suffering from low self-esteem, probably a very lonely person with a hatred of society and authority figures and had psychopathic traits. No person is an island onto oneself. This person would have known and spoken to some people. He would have talked to people whom he considers as being his friends. Spoken to people at that vampirefreaks.com, goth web site trying to get attention from those people around him. There would have been indicators how troubled this person was which should have been observed by people who had known him. Was there no one who had picked up on this persons demeanor and was concerned about it to get spiritual or physiological help or at least have reported this troubled person to someone in authority that might have prevented this Dawson College shooting rampage from happening? Something tells me that we have not yet fully learned the lessons from those kind of tragic events to prevent them from happening again.

Sticking one's foot in their mouth.

Friday. Sept. 17th. 2006; When Pope Benedict XVI was in Freising, southern Germany, he gave a lecture at the University of Regensburg where the pontiff quoted from a book recounting a conversation between Manuel Paleologos II, an 14th century Byzantine Christian emperor, and an educated Persian on the truths of the two religions in which it said, "Show me just what Mohammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." Historically, that quote was accurate. Regardless how Muslims try to deny it, history itself, past and present, has revealed the violent nature and acts which had been comitted by Muslims. For a person who claims to be trying to bridge the gap between Christianity and Islam, he sure had stuck his foot in his mouth. But the pontiff should have been the last person in the world to accuse Mohammad to have spread by the sword the faith he preached. As history have also shown us, when European Monarchs had converted to Christianity, they had forced, with the sanction of the church, the conversion of Christianity upon its subjects by the sword to those who would resist, with their decree and command to spread the faith they now believed in. I would think that when Mohammad had created the religion of Islam, he had only copied what the Christians had been doing for the past centuries. In this case, the Catholic pontiff, Pope Benedict XVI, has stuck both of his feet in his mouth when he read that infamous quote.

Removing structures from Farr Island.

Sat. Sept. 23th. 2006; According to the latest request by the owners of Farr Island, they want me to remove all of the structures I had built on their island. I had planned to go to Farr Island this week-end and remove all of the remaining structures that are there, but the weather forecast calls for rain during the entire week-end. At the present time, the sky was overcast and the lake was calm. It did look like it may rain sometime today. But I decided to go to Farr Island and remove as much of the structures that I could while it was not raining. The weather forecast had been wrong on many occasions, so it is really hard to plan ahead. Buddy and I had left for Farr Island about 11 AM, and we had a pleasant canoe trip. I noticed that there was a very light drizzle by the time we had arrived on the Island. After having put away the gear, I proceeded to tackle the first of the three outhouses. I found that it was far easier to drive a nail in, than it is to pull one out. It is especially hard when they happen to be spiral nails. After some time, I had managed to take down the first of the three outhouses. I got that outhouse down by the time it had started to rain. Buddy and I spent the rest of the evening in the tent-cabin. I got a fire going in the wood stove because it was getting pretty chilly and damp around here. After settling down for the night, I listen to the CBC radio broadcast. By midnight, I noticed that it was still raining outside. I decided to call it a day and went to sleep.

Sun. Sept. 24th. 2006; It continued to rain most of the morning, so Buddy and I had a late breakfast. The lake was choppy with winds coming from the north-east. When the rain stopped, I proceeded to tackle the second outhouse. With that done, I then took down the last outhouse. It is far easier to take down, than it was to build up. The logs that I had used to build the structures will eventually rot on the ground. It was evening by the time I stopped to get a bite to eat. While eating my supper, I was listening to the local radio station and the weather forecast calls for heavy thunder showers for tomorrow. More rain. After supper, I decided to remove the dock. At least remove that section of the dock which is out of the water. The remainder of the dock which is above the water, I cut-up the long logs with the chain saw. By late evening, the dock was un-usable. I moved the No Hunting and No Trespassing sign from the dock and placed it on shore where it can be seen. By then, the wind had died down and the lake was no longer choppy. I had to decide if I should continue to stay on the island or head back to Haileybury, while I can, given what the weather forecaster had said about the heavy thunder showers for tomorrow. I decided to head home in case I might not be able to get off the island due to strong winds. I had already taken down the three outhouses and made the dock no longer serviceable. I figured that I had done pretty good so far. By the time I had loaded the canoe, it was getting pretty dark outside. I had a flashlight in hand as we headed for home. All that is left on the island now is the tent-cabin. I will take it down the next time I get a chance to go back to Farr Island.

Mon. Sept. 25th. 2006; It was raining this morning, but no thunder storm. By afternoon, it turned out to be a nice sunny day. The lake was calm, and I thought that had I stayed on Farr Island yesterday, I could have taken down the tent-cabin today and have a safe journey back to Haileybury. See what I mean about the weather forecast being wrong on many occasions. Maby next week-end the weather will be fine for me to take down the tent-cabin. I will take with me my dome tent just in case the weather changes and we get strong winds and I get stranded on Farr Island. As for what is left of the dock, I will have to wait until the time when the lake freezes over to fully take apart the dock.

Mon. Oct.2nd. 2006; The weather forecast calls for a mild and sunny day. The lake was calm so Buddy and I left the apartment around six AM to take down the tent-cabin on Farr Island. Once there, I gathered the food and things and removed the wood stove and loaded these into the canoe. Then I took off the tent-cabin covering, folded these and placed them in the canoe. By then it was around eleven o'clock so I made some coffee and had a bite to eat. Then I got the chain saw and cut up the frame into small pieces. The chain saw really made fast work in tearing down the cabin frame structure. With that done, I set fire to the dock that was above over the water. I added to the fire some of the short logs I had taken off the dock last week. Unfortunately, the wind had picked up and was now lapping waves onto the dock, putting out the fire. I will have to dismantle the rest of the dock, those parts that is still standing, when the lake freezes over or take it apart sometime during the coming summer months. Otherwise, all of the structures have now been taken down. I waited for the wind to die down somewhat so that I could make a safe journey back to Haileybury. The wind was coming from the south so that I was following the waves. Buddy and I arrived at the Haileybury marina safe and sound by two-thirty pm. This ends the chapter on Farr Island and my involvement with it.

Canada's Newest 25-Cent Coin

The Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) has put out a new commemorative coin which will be in circulation soon. The 25-cent coin features the Medal of Bravery, which Queen Elizabeth ll, established in 1972 as part of the Canadian Honours System. It is awarded by the Governor General of Canada to recognize acts of bravery in hazardous circumstances. "The 2006 Medal of Bravery coins will serve as a lasting expression of gratitude to Canada's everyday heroes and is a tribute to their courage that defines this nation," the Honourable Lawrence Cannon had stated. Up to 20 million 25-cent Medal of Bravery coins will enter into circulation and Canadians are encouraged to look for it in their change. I intend to keep one of these coins as a reminder and tribute to those people who serve in law enforcement (police), Fiermen and firefighters, search & rescue, arm forces and to all Canadians who risk their lives to serve, protect and save lives in the line of duty.

Day of Remembrance

Every year on November 11, Canadians pause in a silent moment of remembrance for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace. We honour those who fought for Canada in the First World War (1914-1918), the Second World War (1939-1945), and the Korean War (1950-1953), as well as those who have served since then. More than 1,500,000 Canadians have served our country in this way, and more than 100,000 have died. They gave their lives and their futures so that we may live in peace.

The poppy is the recognized symbol for Remembrance Day. It represents all the people who had died during times of war. This symbol is recondnized in Canada, countries of the British Commonwealth, and the United States. The flower owes its significance to the poem "In Flanders Fields", written by Major (later Lieutenant-Colonel) John McCrae, a doctor with the Canadian Army Medical Corps, in the midst of the Second Battle of Ypres, in Belgium, in May 1915.

The poppy references in the first and last stanzas of the most widely read and oft-quoted poem of the war contributed to the flower's status as an emblem of remembrance and a symbol of new growth amidst the devastation of war.

In Flanders Fields

by John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.

During the days following Remembrance Day, I happen to take out some DVD movies from our public library. One of the DVD was titled FAHRENHEIT 9/11 by Michael Moore. FAHRENHEIT 9/11 was more like a documentary about American President George W Bush and his administration, Hamid Karzai, the president of Afghanistan, Bin Laden and the Saudi Family. FAHRENHEIT 9/11 give a true account of what was happening within the George W Bush administration during and after the tragic 9/11 terrorist attack on the New York Twin Towers Trade Building. This DVD was so well done that FAHRENHEIT 9/11 should be used as the document which represent the legacy of President George W Bush and his administration. A legacy in which President George W Bush had used the presidential office to fetter his own nest and the interest of his multi-national colleges. Of using US troops as sacrificial lambs to protect the interests of those involved in the oil cartel. This is the legacy which President George W Bush and his administration is leaving behind for the American people. Those who had voted for him and those who had not. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who wants to gain some insight into George W Bush and his administration, the president of Afghanistan, Bin Laden and the Saudi Family. FAHRENHEIT 9/11 should be used as an American historical record and be used in school textbooks. Here is the Official web site of Michael Moore. At this site you will get a LINE BY LINE transcript of 'FAHRENHEIT 9/11'
