Jan.1st. 2009; Well,a lot of people all around the world had rung in the New Year with a lot of hope and anticipation that they will get through it without too much hardship. It looks like we are right back in a deep freeze once again with tempatures hovering around the -25°C mark. This is the year when I will finally be able to seriously work towards the fulfillment of that long held dream of a wilderness retreat where I will be able to build my little log cabin and live the lifestyle I had so longed for. I know that Buddy will enjoy it too. I am already counting down the days when all this will finally become a reality for me. I came across a ROME (JTA) news story about Pope Benedict XVI who may visit Israel sometime in May, 2009. News reports claim that Pope Benedict has already accepted an invitation from Israeli President Shimon Peres to visit Israel, though nothing concrete has been decided since the visit has not yet been publicly confirmed. The Roman pope is also expected to visit the Arab "Palestinian" terrorists and their territories. Pope Benedict would be the third pontiff to visit Israel. Pope John Paul visited Israel in 2000, while Pope Paul made the trip in 1964. Relations between Israel and the Vatican have been strained since the Vatican decided to consider Pope Pius for sainthood. I have no doubt the pope's move will also have something to do with the establishment of Jerusalem becoming an International city, in which Pope Benedict hopes will come under the jurisdiction of the Vatican, through the sanctions of the UN. This will no doubt delight Christians from all over the world, for they will present and proclaim that their Christian pagan, man-made creature, they call Je-Zeus Christ is God. They will command and force people to bow down and worship the image of their pagan Baal God-man, and spread their apostate, perverted, theology of Christianity throughout the land of Israel and the New World Order. But that situation will last for only a short time. For a time will come when the people in Israel and those throughout the world will rebel against it, and bring that whole establishment crashing down in a hideous manner. Well, by the time these events come to formation, I will be well settled in my little log cabin and enjoy the peace and beauty that the wilderness and wildlife offers Buddy and me.

Last night as I was watching the New Year's Eve events and saw how New Year's Eve revelers were celebrating the dawn of 2009. Though for many Canadians, they are bracing for the economic situation they will be facing, along with the conflict in Afghanistan which many will be concerned about their loved ones who are fighting over there. Speaking of Afghanistan, Taliban militants had ambushed a group of Afghan police while they were eating lunch in a remote and dangerous part of southern Afghanistan. The Taliban had killed 32 police, and had wounded four officers during the ambush. A British Royal Marine was killed by an explosion in Afghanistan. The Marine was killed in the southern Sangin district of Helmand province while taking part in a routine patrol. 2008 has been one of Britain's deadliest year in the seven-year-old conflict. The latest death brings the number of British troops killed in Afghanistan for 2008, to 52, more than in any other year since the mission began in October 2001, according to the British defense ministry. I see that the Hamas terrorists are still firing rockets into the Jewish state of Israel, despite the Israeli air strikes in Gaza. Are these events leading into the New Year an omen for what people can expect for the year 2009? May everyone find some sense of happiness and comfort in a year that looks to become a very difficult one for a great many people.

Jan.3rd. 2009; This morning the sky is overcast, I can not see any stars, with the tempature hovering around the -19°C mark. Later in the day, the wind is expected to come from the NW at 15km/h, which will make the air tempature feel like it is -24°C. According to the latest news reports from the Israeli offensive in Gaza, on Saturday night, thousands of Israeli troops backed by columns of tanks and helicopter gunships launched a ground offensive in Gaza with officials saying they expected a lengthy fight in the densely populated territory after eight days of punishing air strikes failed to halt militant rocket attacks on Israel. Witnesses in Gaza said that Israeli ground forces had moved several hundred yards inside Gaza. Israeli security officials said initial clashes with militants took place in open fields and soldiers did not immediately move into Gaza's crowded cities, where warfare would likely get much deadlier. The incursion set off fierce clashes with Palestinian militants and Gaza's Hamas rulers vowed the coastal strip would become a graveyard for Israelis forces. U.S. President George W. Bush has insisted that the Hamas rocket attacks on Israel was an 'act of terror' and that Israel has the full right to protect its citizens. Protest rallies in Iran, Egypt, Turkey, Iraq, Canada and the U.S.A. who support the "Palestinian" terrorist was led by the Muslim Brotherhood, were crowds with ideological links to Hamas cheered as the group's leaders called for intensified strikes against Israel. Witnesses in Gaza had stated that a group of Egyptian surgeons and Muslim supporters had made their way into the embattled Palestinian Gaza strip. They came through the infamous tunnels that have served as a supply route to Gaza from Egypt. They came to help their Muslim brothers in Gaza to assist people who are part of the larger Arab nation. The commitment of Muslims in Egypt is just one of the reasons why the bloody and battered Hamas movement can sustain the war against Israel. Ehud Olmert and Tzipi Livni have no intentions to oust the "Palestinian" Arab terrorists and their supporters from Gaza, or from any other parts of Israel. Ehud Olmert and Tzipi Livni had stated that they have no intention of staying in the Gaza Strip for the long term. That their objective is to restore quiet to Israel's south, not to topple the Hamas or reoccupy Gaza. Given the situation that exist in Gaza, the Israeli offensive will have no choice but to either kill or remove all the Arab "Palestinian" terrorists and their militant supporters, which they are fully justify to do so, in order to protect the Jewish population. Israel will have no choice but to learn from past experiences when dealing with these Arab Palestinians, and do what must be done to save the nation and its people from Arab (Palestinian) attacks. If the Government of Israel will not take back Gaza and force the Palestinians out of the country, and take full control over all parts of the nation of Israel, the Arab "Palestinian" terrorists and their militant supporters within Israel, which is the vast majority of the population of "Palestinians", will live to continue their fight another day.

Other news is of the tragic death of eight snowmobilers who had been buried in an avalanche on B.C.'s Harvey Mountain Pass should serve a lesson for people not to be risk-takers in avalanche prome areas. Now a B.C. community tries to find some strength as they grieve for their loss. B.C. ski resorts are seeking to tackle the problem with risk-takers. Another incident happened in another avalanche prone area where three skiers and a snowboarder were rescued last Friday afternoon on Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver, after ducking past a clearly marked roped-off boundary and ignoring instructions to return to the inbound area. According to a news report, issued by Grouse Mountain Resorts Ltd., the Grouse Mountain Safety Patrol made contact with the four men around the Heaven's Sake run and instructed them to leave the extremely hazardous and avalanche prone area. They had choosen not to heed the warning. Another two men had died in separate incidents at B.C.'s Whistler Blackcomb ski resort, which was hit by two avalanches in the past few days. The first death occurred after an experienced 37-year-old skier from Whistler went out of bounds on Blackcomb Mountain on New Year's Eve, according to a statement from the RCMP. A second man, who was 26 and from outside the province, died on Whistler Mountain on New Year's Day, police said. The family of the Blackcomb victim has been identified, but police say they have been asked not to immediately identify him. Police say they will further discuss the issue with the man's brother before possibly releasing a name. The family of the second victim had not been notified as of early last evening, although police have identified him. A spokesperson for the resort confirmed the Blackcomb incident occurred in an out-of-bounds area, but would not comment any further. Given the avalanche risks in the mountain regions, these people who are risk-takers have got to be pretty stupid to venture in out-of-bounds areas given the death toll these avalanches have already claimed. To deliberatly venture out from controlled areas like that, putting their own life at risk, as well as putting the lives of the rescuers at risk is totally absurd that people can be so incredibly stupid and arrogant, to take such unnecessary risks when they can avoid it. That is just as stupid as those risk-takers who try to cross an open strech of water on their snowmobile. When will people ever learn from other peoples experiences? Seems to me that people are determined to repeat the same mistakes from the past.

Speaking of skiing, When traveling in the bush in Northeastern Ontario in the winter, I like to use short skis rather than using the traditional snowshoes. One good thing about Northeastern Ontario, there is little chance to encounter an avalanche around the hills we have here. I find getting around with traditional snowshoes much too awkward. If I had to use snowshoes, I would rather use the, Mountaineering, or Ojibwa or Alaskan, because they are much narrower than the standard Bear Paw or Beavertail. But I would rather use a modified set of skis. I get a set of wide downhill skis which I find from time to time when people throw them out on the annual Spring Cleaning Days. I take off the ski bindings, then I shorten the skis by cutting off some of the length I do not need, about four feet, or about ¾ of the ski size and re-attach the ski bindings at the center of the new length. With a shorter ski, I found out that I can travel through wooded areas without getting all tangled up. When I come upon to a long hill, I can ski down the slope quite fast and with ease. Going up the hill, I have to use the usual method of going up side on onto the hill. Instead of carrying a heavy pack of food and camping gear, I rather use a toboggan to haul over the ice and snow. I find it less burdensome. I did not have Buddy then to haul the toboggan. When I get to a long hill, I can sit on the gear that is on the toboggan and steady myself with my skis and skid down the hill in quick fashion. In the wintertime, I rather use a standard cotton wall tent then the nylon dome tent I use during the summer months. It gives me much more room and I can stand up in it. Also, a cotton tent breaths out the vapor better than synthetic nylon. The nylon tent drips vapor and ice-up a lot during winter camping. Now I take Buddy with me and he hauls the toboggan with the camping gear. I will pack down the snow as I break trail and buddy follows behind me. I help Buddy at times when he finds it too difficult to pull the toboggan. What I like about winter camping is that you can always make a nice flat area to set-up the tent by packing the snow down with the skis. Also, there are no mosquitoes and other biting insects to contend with. What a joy that is!

Jan.7th. 2009; We had light snow for most of the day with tempatures around the -12°C mark. Here is an update on the Isreli offencive against the Hamas "Palestinian" terrorists and their supporters in Gaza. Israel had cease military operations in parts of the Gaza Strip for three hours each day, starting today to allow humanitarian aid to enter the Palestinian terrorists and their Hamas supporters territory through an Israeli-controlled corridor. The Israeli military plan is to cease their attacks from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting today, in the area of the city of Gaza. The Palestinian terrorists and their Hamas supporters are aware of the plan. I find it strange that Israel is allowing Aid to get to their enemies and to the Hamas terrorists supporters. The pause marks the first major concession offered by Israel in the now 12-day conflict. Israel's ambassador to the United Nations said Tuesday her country is "very seriously" taking a new ceasefire proposal put forward by Egypt and France. All this had taken place when two Israeli tank shells struck a UN school in Jabaliya Gaza, spraying shrapnel on people inside and outside the building, according to news reports. Hamas had been firing rockets from within the school grounds. The army tanks had fired at the Hamas rocket instillation. Another news report stated that Hamas fired mortar shells from a United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) school in Jabalya before the IDF retaliated with aerial bombing that killed Hamas terrorists as well as Hamas supporters children, according to an initial IDF investigation. The medical director of the hospital in Jabaliya told the News Media that 41 bodies had been brought in so far and more could be on the way. Journalists filmed bodies scattered on the ground amid pools of blood and torn shoes and clothes. In addition to the dead, several dozen Muslim Hamas supporters were wounded, hospital officials said. John Ging, Director of Operations in Gaza of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), said that 30 Muslim Hamas supporters died and 55 others were injured when three Israeli artillery shells landed at the perimeter of a UN girls' preparatory school in Gaza. UNRWA's education programme has been suspended since the start of Israeli air attacks on Gaza, which the Jewish State says it launched its attack in response to rocket attacks by Hamas militants. Mr. Ging stated that those who were in the school were all Hamas Muslim supporters seeking "refuge". In a separate attack last night, three Palestinian Hamas supporters, who had sought refuge in a small co-educational UN school in Gaza City, died when an Israeli missile hit the building's toilet facilities. The three men who were killed, were Hamas supporters who had fled their home earlier that day. They had thought that they would be safe in a UN school in Gaza City. A U.N. official, Adnan Abu Hasna, stated that the three men were among hundreds of Hamas supporters who had sought refuge at the school in Shati, located next to Gaza City. The strike took place inside the school grounds where rockets were being fired into Israel. Speaking about the United Nations school in the Gaza Strip, I recall reading from Reuters News that a science teacher, Awad al-Qiq who was a headmaster at the Rafah Prep Boys School, which is a United Nations school in the Gaza Strip. It was revealed that Awad al-Qiq was a science teacher by day and by night, a Palestinian terrorist militant who had helped build rockets for the Islamic Jihad. During an Israeli air strike at Rafah, which is close to the Egyptian border, they had hit the United Nations school workshop were the 33-year-old Awad al-Qiq, had used for making rockets and other improvised weaponry was killed. The Israeli air strike had exposed the 33-year-old Awad al-Qiq, and his apparent double life which had embarrassed the U.N. agency who had long rebuffed Israeli accusations that the United Nations school in the Gaza Strip had aided and abetted guerrillas fighting the Jewish state. An Israeli intelligence source told Reuters that al-Qiq was involved in developing rockets and mortars. al-Qiq's family denied he had any militant links at all, despite that there was a profusion of Islamic Jihad posters at his home. No one from the United Nations would attended Qiq funeral. But militant leaders allied to the enclave's ruling Hamas group hailed him as a martyr who led Islamic Jihad's "engineering unit", its bomb makers. They fired a salvo of improvised rockets into Israel in response to Awad al-Qiq death. It is common knowledge that the Hamas terrorists fire their rockets from apartment buildings, schools, hospitals and Mosques. These terrorists and their supporters act in complicity with each other, putting themselves and their children at great risk. Anybody who would do that deliberatly, in my mind, are as guilty as the Islamic terrorists who are fiering the rockets at Israel, and do not deserve to be spaired from the Israeli offensive. Despite these known facts, there is an international outcry over the bombing on the United Nations school which had been used as a rocket launching site were the Hamas terrorists and their supporters were killed. International leaders last night were rallying behind a ceasefire proposal put forward by Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak at a meeting with French president Nicolas Sarkozy in the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. Mubarak called for an immediate truce between Israel and the Palestinians in Gaza, to be followed by talks on long-term border arrangements and an end to the blockade of Gaza. It is plain to see that the Israeli troops had been duped into believing that they were fighting to protect Israel and its Israeli civilians, but were used as pawns by the Omart/Tzipi Livni government to attack and clean up the Hamas stronghold so that they can give the "Palestinian" terrorist, Mahmoud Abbas and his supporters the territory of Gaza for their UN/American/Omart/Tzipi Livni two-state agenda of a Palestinian "Arab" state. Despite that the whole land for peace deal had blown up right in their faces, the UN/American/Omart/Tzipi Livni governments insist on continuing with their flawed "peace plan" of their two-state agenda of an Israeli/Palestinian Arab state. What a total sham this whole affair is turning out to be for the Jewish people within and outside of Israel who want a totally wholly independent, sovereign country. Nevertheless, this is all part of the UN global master plan.

It has been a long time coming that Canada will finally do something about laying charges on people who practice polygamy. It is high time that Canada will no longer turn a blind eye to people who practice polygamy of young (children) girls under the justification of "religion". Two rival leaders of a religious community in Bountiful, B.C., have been arrested and charged with practicing polygamy. On person, a one-time bishop of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the rural community in B.C.'s Southern Interior, is rumoured to have fathered about 80 children by his 26 wives, some as young as 15 at the time of their marriage. Another man is married to two women. Men in these so-called "religious" sects tend to "marry" girls as young as ten years of age. Girls in these sects have little or no choice at all about their circumstance or who they marry. The RCMP investigation into allegations of polygamy in the isolated rural community in southeastern B.C. began in 2005 and included interviews with 90 people in B.C., Canada, and in Utah, Idaho and Nevada in the USA. Though B.C.'s Crown prosecutors remained reluctant to lay polygamy charges for fear they would be contested on the basis of religious freedom and declared unconstitutional. At least in the USA, they had the good sense to pursue and convict Warren Jeffs, who is/was the leader of the church's U.S. based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on charges of polygamy and of being an accomplice to the rape of a 14-year-old girl. These misguided people get their stupid ideas of polygamy from the Old Testament in their Christian bible. These people are nothing more than extortionists, child abusers, and pedophiles wrapped in their archaic pagan religious ideology that stem from the Hebrew Torah. No civilized society should tolerate or condone the religious practice of human (child) sacrifices or other blood letting sacrifices, sexual abuse, polygamy, circumcision of the male and female genitalia, the suppression of human rights of women, the stoning of people to death for religious infractions, or other religious practices that cause undue emotional or physical harm, which was supposed to have been ordained by some man-made fictitious God or Gods and had once become socially acceptable. It is time to clamp down and put a stop to these illegitimate paganized religious sects that worship some pagan, man-made fictitious Gods. These religions are phony and illegitimate and can be proven in any court of law. It is time that religious leaders of all religions are held accountable for their fraudulent religious claims and are made to prove their legitimacy. This is one area within our social system where fraudulent claims are being condoned and allowed to be practiced unabated on the basis of religious freedom.

With Canada's economy sinking into recession, there are still people who are stupid enough to keep on buying things they really do not need and end up carrying high amounts of debt on their credit cards. If these people are not careful, credit cards can get these people into more debt than they can handle. They end up facing bigger hurdles when they have problems repaying their current credit card debts, when they start using their credit card to rob Peter to pay Paul. A good sign that a person is over their head in credit debt when they have to resort to paying their rent, groceries, phone bills, mortgage or car payments, and insurance premiums on their credit cards when their income can not cover these costs. The average Canadian household carries two to five credit cards and have racked up between $10,000 to $40,000 in credit card debt. When this is added to a mortgage and an auto loan found in the typical home, the debt can become overwhelming. Then people find themselves in a financial crisis if one or both couples looses their jobs. People would be wise to work getting their debt on their credit cards down as fast as possible to save on the interest rates they are paying. It would not be a bad idea if one got into the habit of using cash, rather than charging more on their credit cards. I never had a problem using a credit card when I had one, because I made it a habit never to use my credit card until I had a zero balance, before I would purchase anything else on it. That way I never over extended myself and most of the time, my monthly balance on my credit card would be zero. A credit card is great when some unforseen emergency happened to come your way. But I had cut-up my credit card when my income became so uncertain that I was not sure if I would be able to pay off any debt I might have incur on it. It is better to be safe than sorry and find out you have a debt you cannot pay back and end up with a bad credit rating.

Jan.9th. 2009; This morning the cold weather continues with tempatures around the -20°C mark with the wind blowing from the NW at 10km/h which feels more like -30°C with the wind chill. After days of negotiations between Canada and the Israeli government, 48 Arab Palestinian Canadians were allowed to leave the Gaza Strip Thursday to begin their journey back to Canada. I can not help think that these people who have families in Gaza are Palestinian Hamas terrorists supporters. What kind of security risk are these Palestinian Canadians who support the actions of the Hamas terrorists? Has anyone from Canada's National Security looked into this matter? We may be harboring Hamas terrorists right in our own back yard. What an unnerving thought that is for non-Muslim Canadians. To understand the type of people we have here in Canada who aspouse to the religion of Islam, one only needs to view Geert Wilder's video Fitna.

Prominent Canadians called on Ottawa to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza in what they claim as Israel's "war crimes", while other people rallied in support of Israel. I have no pity at all for those Arab "Palestinians" who live in Gaza because they fully support the Hamas terrorists. I see that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) had accused the Israeli military that it had fired upon UN trucks and killed their drivers near the Erez crossing in northern Gaza. After searching the Internet to get more information on this news story, I found out that the dead driver was identified as Adnan abu-Hasna. Hours after the UN had charged the Israeli military with the killing of a United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) driver, a MDA paramedic reported that the driver had been shot by Hamas snipers, and not killed by an IDF tank shell. One driver was shot dead and two other drivers were badly injured due to bullet wounds, not shrapnel injuries that would have come from a tank. The medic also stated that IDF soldiers had ran to rescue the two wounded drivers who had been shot, endangering their own lives. The wounded drivers were taken to Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon, which is one of Israel's leading healthcare institutions. I recall that Gaza residents had reported that an IDF tank shell had hit a UN-run school, killing 40 people, among them were 10 children, who had taken shelter in the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) school building. UN officials in Gaza had accused Israel of firing on the school for no reason. IDF troops had stated that they had responded to mortar fire from the direction of the school. A tank shell fired by soldiers had ignited explosives that was hidden near the building by the Palestinian Hamas terrorists, setting off a powerful secondary blasts which was responsible for most of the deaths in that UN school. Frankly, I am disappointed with our Canadian news media that they had not bothered to check out their news sources and give Canadians the full story on what is actually going on in Israel. It is very clear from the statements coming from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) that their reports are not credible, and are totally bias against Israel. Speaking about the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the Harper government, through Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon had donated $4 million in humanitarian relief to the Palestinian Hamas terrorists and their supporters in the Gaza Strip. About 3 million of the funding will go to that lying, biased United Nations Relief and Works Agency which support the Palestinian Hamas terrorists and their supporters in the Gaza Strip, while 1 million will go towards the Red Cross's work in Gaza in their support of Hamas terrorists. That is one of the reasons why I have such a dim view of the UN organization. I also have to wonder what our Canadian troops must be thinking when they hear that Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon had announced that Canada is donating $4 million in humanitarian relief to the Palestinian Hamas terrorists and their supporters in the Gaza Strip, when our Canadian troops are being attacked and killed by the same type of Muslim terrorists in Afghanstan. While Canadians are fighting terrorists in Afghanstan, Canada is aiding and abbetting terrorists in the Gaza Strip. Yeah, Right! I would think that the $4 million the Harper government is dishing out to help the terrorists and their supporters would have been better spent to help our own people here in Canada who have lost their jobs.

Canada Provides Emergency Aid to Palestinians

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 7, 2009) - The Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister of International Cooperation, and the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced today that Canada is responding to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza. "Canada remains deeply concerned by the conflict and is committed to helping the innocent civilians affected by the violence in Gaza," said Minister Oda. The Government of Canada, through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), will contribute $4 million of which $3 million will go to support a United Nations appeal to meet urgent needs such as food, shelter and medical materials. Canada will also contribute $1 million to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which has an established presence in the region. With Canada's support, the ICRC will continue to provide food, essential water, and sanitation services, including the rehabilitation of water treatment sources that will attempt to reach 400,000 Palestinians. Canada's funding will not go to the Hamas, which is listed a terrorist organization in Canada. I was quite disturbed to find out how much Canada is involved in aiding and abbetting a terrorists organization like the Palestinian Hamas terrorists and their supporters in Gaza, given that we have a law against providing aid to a terrorist organization, be it directly or indirectly. What planet do these people come from? The "Palestinian" civilians affected by the violence in Gaza are not so " innocent" as they put it. Those so-called innocent Arab "Palestinians" in Gaza fully support the Hamas terrorists who have sent rockets over Israel. The Hamas terrorists store their bombs and weapons and fire their rockets from the so-called " innocent" civilians apartment buildings, at their schools, their hospitals and Mosques. These terrorists and their so-called " innocent" supporters act in complicity with each other, putting themselves and their children at great risk. Anybody who would deliberatly put their children in harms way, in my mind, are as guilty as the Islamic terrorists who are fiering the rockets at Israel, and do not deserve to be spaired from the Israeli offensive. These so-called innocent civilians have partisapated in suicide bombings of Israeli civillians. These so-called innocent civilians are involved in attacking and stabbing Israeli settlers in rual areas in Israel. You can be sure that whatever aid is given to these people, it will bennifit the Hamas terrorist in one form or another. These people at Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of International Cooperation say that Canada's funding will not go to the Hamas. What a bunch of nonsence that is. I personally think these people are indeed aiding and abbetting the terrorists in the Gaza Strip and breaking Canada's own rules in providing aid to a terrorist organization, be it directly or indirectly. If the Harper government want to give aid to people, there are many people here in Canada and around the world who can use the aid that are not a part of, or are not involved with any terrorist organization. I would hope Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his people give that some consideration.

Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff called for an economic stimulus package that includes tax cuts for low and middle-income Canadians and an emphasis on infrastructure and for changes to the EI program, during his national tour on the economy which started in a meeting in Halifax. This is the Liberals big plan to stimulate the economy that they wanted to bring down the Harper government with? Seems to me that is virtually the exact same plan proposed by Finance Minister Jim Flaherty. I recall during the last recent election, the Liberals railed on how tax cuts would bankrupt the country. Frankly, I had expected the Liberal party would have come up with some new substantial ideas that had not already been put on the table. Ignatieff has to do a lot better than that if he hopes to become the next Prime Minister of Canada. If that is the best Ignatieff can do, then I am ready to cast my vote in another election.

Winston Blackmore, the leader of a Christian religious polygamists sect in British Columbia says the decision of the B.C. Crown to charge him for practising polygamy is religious persecution. Yes, that religious persecution bit is always a good one to use at times like this. Regardless of the fact that polygamy is against the law in Canada. Blackmore claims that this is not about polygamy, it is about religious persecution. Excuse me, but this case is indeed an issue about an act of committing polygamy, nothing else. It is time that these morons are charged with polygamy which is an offence here in Canada. Some of these men who take on new wives are young girls who are between the ages of 12-14 years. Having sex with 12-14 year olds is another law they are breaking. Something to do about having sex with a minor. These people are not so squeeky clean once their little secret is blown into full view. How often have I heard of cases where these young girls are forced to marry men who are old enough to be their father or grandfather. These young girls in most cases have little choice in who they will marry. I am glad that the Crown Prosecutors are finally taking a tough stand on this issue for the sake of these young girls who are raised up in this type of environment, who have little or no say in the matter.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper told reporters at a news conference in Montreal that he wants to work with the opposition leaders to put together a budget that will help all Canadians. Harper stated that his government may have to take "big comprehensive action" over the next few years to deal with the present economic crisis, adding that the next federal budget will be one of the biggest in a long time. Harper stated that "This is going to be a tough time, that we should not underestimate the actions we need to take. Without getting into any further details, Harper said the actions could last between three to five years. Harper's comments come as Statistics Canada reported Canadians had lost 34,400 jobs in December, a figure that was far worse than most economists had expected, as the economy continues to weakened. I notice that a lot of people are giving Prime Minister Stephen Harper a hard time when they have not even heard what the upcoming budget will contain. These people should hold off their sour grapes comments about the buget, that will be presented on Jan. 27, 2009. These people can then judge Prime Minister Stephen Harper on his buget, rather than speaking out of pure ignorance. I think people need to give Prime Minister Stephen Harper a break and see what comes out from that upcoming budget. I say this despite having found out about the $4 million the Harper government is dishing out to help the Palestinian Hamas terrorists and their supporters in Gaza, which I think is a big mistake. Harper or Canada will end up regretting the help that was given to the Palestinian Hamas terrorists and their supporters in Gaza. It will come back to irk Harper or Canada later down the road.

Residents in Kensington UK, have called for protests to be moved after violent clashes outside the Israeli embassy yesterday in the London borough. Fighting had broken out between police and around 20,000 protesters outside the Israeli Embassy in Palace Green, with an estimated 100,000 protesters chanting "free, free Palestine", as they led through the streets of London. Windows were smashed and policemen were injured, with one officer knocked unconscious in the running battles and two requiring treatment for facial injuries. The protesters, mainly young men had knocked down barriers, threw missiles of eggs, red paint, sticks and shoes as 300 officers in full riot gear tried to maintain the peace. Meanwhile, thousands of Canadians joined demonstrators around the world on Saturday in a series of heated protests against Israel's offensive in Gaza, with scuffles and arrests reported in several European cities. Outside the Israeli Consulate in Toronto, police estimated about 2,000 people gathered in frigid weather to condemn the Israeli attacks, while a smaller group of pro-Israeli demonstrators made their presence known behind a police barricade. CUPE Ontario president Sid Ryan, who speaking to the crowd talked about the "lies" coming out of the Israeli media. "I know I'm on the right side on this issue" stated Ryan. Seems to me that Sid Ryan of CUPE do not know what he is talking about, given that all of the "lies" are actually coming from the Palestinians and their supporters, which the news media seem to readily accept as being truthful and valid, without checking out their facts, as I have demonstrated on my web site. Other speakers called on the federal government to demand a ceasefire from Israel and to impose immediate sanctions and boycotts against Israel. John Baird was quoted as saying "The resisters in Palestine are cowards". "Well I have news for you, the only coward we know is Stephen Harper and his government." said Ali Mallah of the Canadian Arab Federation to John Baird. I find it strange that Ali Mallah of the Canadian Arab Federation made those comments about Stephen Harper and his government after the Harper Government had donated $4 million of Canadian taxpayers money to aid the so-called " innocent" civilians who are supporters of the Hamas terrorists. John Baird is the Conservative MP for the riding of Ottawa West - Nepean, in Ontario. He had the guts to speak the truth about what is taking place in Gaza. Other politicians like MP Peter Kent, minister of state for foreign affairs, made similar statements, backing up that this is completely the fault of Hamas, and they must stop all rocket attacks, that Israel is justified in continuing its campaign against the Hamas terror infrastructure. The Hamas Palestinian civilian supporters are caught in this tragic crossfire, because they had deliberately allowed Hamas to use their infrastructure to hide the terrorists weapons and launch their rocket fire among its civilians, putting themselves and their children at great risk in order to gain support from the news media. This is how atrociously wicked and inhumane these people are, which we in the west, find hard to fathom.

The French and Egyptian foreign ministers announced a new proposal for a temporary cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. The proposal called for the re-opening of a border crossing, and appeared to be the result of negotiations between Hamas leaders in Syria and Egyptian officials. They are a good bunch to be calling for a cease-fire on behalf of the Palestinian Hamas terrorists and their supporters in Gaza. Time after time over the past many years I have noticed that France and Egypt have always sided with the Palestinian Hamas terrorists and their supporters within Gaza. Given that these are strong supporters of the Hamas terrorists group and the people who support them in Gaza, they are the last people who should be talking to Israel about any kind of a cease-fire. As for the bellowing chorus coming from people within Canada and those from the international community who are calling for a cease-fire over the Israeli-Gaza offensive, they would not be so smart if they were facing rockets attacks and it was terrorizing their own nation and children. They would be the first ones crying out, demanding that their governments protect them from the rocket attacks. Its a far different story if they were being threathen by rocket fire. What a bunch of hypocrites these people are! Well, enough talk about the whole Israeli-Hamas terrorists conflict. I had my say on this matter. What will be, will be.

After 38 years of investigation the OPP have charged a London Ontario man with first degree murder and the abduction of a 12-year old girl. The OPP have charged Barry Vincent Manion, 60, of London Ontario. At the time of the 12-year old girl disappearance, Manion had lived in Kirkland Lake and had worked there for some time. Manion had left Kirkland Lake sometime during the 1970s. The original investigation in 1970 was a joint operation between Teck Township police and the OPP. They knew that the 12-year old girl, Katherine May Wilson, had been sent to a convenience store for groceries and was seen walking back toward Harvey Kirkland but she had never arrived home. OPP Detective Inspector Ken Leppert, of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, said they are continuing their investigation into Katherine's abduction and murder and part of that is locating her remains. The OPP would welcome any further information anyone has on the Wilson case. The OPP deserve a special thanks for their supreme effort in the work that they do. This case has got to go on the record books for a thirty odd years of investigation work that show the determination of our police officers to see that Justice is done. Congratulation for a work well done.

U.S. president-elect Barack Obama will visit Canada for his first foreign visit after his inauguration later this month. U.S. president-elect Barack Obama plans to travel to Canada for his first international trip after he takes office, the Prime Minister's Office confirmed on Saturday. "We have been in close contact with president-elect Obama's transition team. We can confirm that the president-elect has accepted the prime minister's invitation to visit Canada soon after he is inaugurated," a statement released by Stephen Harper's office said. U.S. transition aides also said Obama picked his country's northern neighbour as his first venture outside the United States as president, but they added they could not discuss the date for the trip, nor its agenda.

Jan.11th. 2009; This morning the cold weather continues with light snow and tempatures around the -16°C mark and the baromatic pressure dropping to 29.6, from 29.8 an hour ago. I see that there are ice-fishing huts on the lake and a snowmobile trail has been marked out to get across Lake Temiskaming, so I think it is quite safe to travel on the lake now. Good, now I will be able to take Buddy and his dogsled on the lake and go for a long run. I wonder why we are only finding out now that a Quebec Christian family had made a suicide pact on New Years Day, because both parents had recently been under increasing financial stress? Marc Laliberte had been working as a real estate agent and had recently been laid off from his job, his profile had been removed from the website of a local realtor. Gauthier-Lachance, the mother, had lost her retail job just before Christmas and that neither adult were working and had found themselves mired in financial trouble. Police said it was the mother who had called 911 asking for help. Officers who answered the call found her wounded inside the home, and made the grisly discovery of the other bodies in the house. The bodies of the children, Joelle Laliberte, age 12, Marc-Ange Laliberte, age 7, and Louis-Philippe Laliberte, age 4, and their father Marc Laliberte were found by investigators in the family's home on New Year's Day in the Chicoutimi borough of Saguenay, about 250 kilometres north of Quebec City. Police have alleged Laliberte and the children's mother, Cathy Gauthier-Lachance, planned to kill themselves after killing their three children. Gauthier-Lachance, 36, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the children's slayings and assisting in her husband's suicide. The Quebec mother learned from her hospital bed that she had been charged with three counts of first-degree murder. She was still recovering in hospital from self-inflicted knife wounds and did not attend the funeral. A suicide note was found in the house. No physical marks were found on the children's bodies and a spokesman said it's possible they were either poisoned or suffocated. The family had lived in the Abitibi region in northwestern Quebec before relocating to Saguenay in August, 2008. Personally, I don't understand the thinking behind this suicide pact because they found themselves mired in financial trouble. There is always a way to work out of that kind of situation, but the killing of their three children? As hard as I try to put myself in their place, I would have sent the three children to their grandparents or other family members before going through that suicide pact. Though I personally would never committ suicide because it is a very huge sin againts GOD. It is an act of Murder. That "Christian" family had made their choice and will have to answer to GOD for what they have done. I can not help wonder if their false pagan Baal God, Je-Zeus Christ, had drove them to kill their children and commit suicide. This is not the first time I have heard about Christians doing the same thing, for no apparent good reasons, like killing three innocent children and themselves because of financial problems. Who don't have financial problems in their lifetime? Bad enough these people had worshiped a false pagan God, now they have added Murder to the list of crimes against the true GOD of Heaven. What a sad situation that is.

Well at least someone is agreeing with me about the need to withdraw from Afghanistan. I was watching Question Period today on CTV and they had Andrew Bacevich, a foreign affairs specialist from Boston University who is a retired American colonel and prominent academic and is calling for U.S. president-elect Barack Obama to reconsider his plans to expand his country's military mission in Afghanistan. He stated that the U.S. and allies like Canada should start to withdraw from the war-torn country because it "simply does not make sense" to stay. I thank Andrew Bacevich for having the guts to speak the truth at a time when so many people continue to be "politically correct" and stick to the mainstream slanted views. The Taliban has been forced out of power. Unfortunately we have not captured or killed Osama Bin Laden which was our main goal, but their capability to attack the West is now nil, which was the main objective when we got involved in Afghanistan. Given that we have allowed Osama Bin Laden to escape, there is really no need for Western countries to stay in the country and try to make it into a modern democracy. They have made it clear to us that they insist to remain under an Islamic rule.

When will Canadians realize that Islam is determined to infiltrate into all western countries, including our own, with the sole purpose to take over our country, while we silly Canadians invite these people into our country. I am amazed how they have managed to brainwashed our politicians, school academics and even "Christian" clergies that Islam is a peaceful religion when we clearly see otherwise. Have we forgotten 9/11 and the Islamic Mumbai attack so easily? The well-orchestrated attacks on the World Trade Center buildings and the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, and the more recent Mumbai attack carried out by Muslims clearly demonstrated the existence of an anti-Western movement within the Islamic movement, in this war on terrorism. To try to make a simplistic distinction between the so-called "good" moderate Muslims, who we are led to believe are friends of the West and the "bad" fundamentalist Muslims who are doing all the terrorist attacks is a serious error. These two type of Muslims are working towards the same goals and are acting in complicity with each other. The so-called "good" moderate Muslims aim to take control by converting Canadians to Islam or at least tolerate their presence, and get within the political structure of our Canadian politics, while the other branch, the "bad" Muslims do their dirty work and attack non-Muslim western objectives which has deliberately created a complicated view on the entire Islamic controversy to keep us unbalanced. In essence, both Islamic branches have the same goals in mind but arrive to achieve their goal by different means. Regardless which one of their tactics wins out, this is still a war against the Western world and Islam. Do not say that we have not been given fair warning. We can ignore the warning at our own peril! The sooner we realize this threat, the sooner we can do something about it and take action to counteract against it.

The Canadian government has chosen SNC Lavalin to lead a $50 million project to repair a dam in Islamic Afghanistan. Minister of International Co-operation Bev Oda announced that the Quebec-based firm had been selected to carry out the repairs to the Dahla Dam. The project is set to be completed by 2011, the year that Canada's military mission in Afghanistan is scheduled to end. The government claims that Oda's visit to Kandahar was kept secret until it was completed because of security concerns. Yeah, Right! Only now we hear that the Harper government just blew $50 million of Canadian taxpayers money to repair some infrastructure in an Islamic country instead of in our own country where it can benifit Canadians. Excuse me, but are we not suppose to do repairs on our own infrastructures and thus creating jobs for Canadians right here in Canada, rather than throwing good taxpayers money away on an Islamic regime? Now I am really getting worried about the Harper government, and where they are going, throwing money around like there is no end to it. This is not Harpers own money he is wasting on a sinkhole, he is throwing taxpayers hard earned money around at a time when we are in an economic crunch. I am beginning to have doubts about the real sense of priority Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Conservative party have made. I can understand why the Conservative government is expecting to bring Canada into a huge $40 billion deficit, and get Canada deep into the red, when the Conservatives tables its budget on Jan. 27th. The way Harper has been wasting taxpayers money, it will sink Canada deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse. Frankly, we could be facing another general election or see the Conservatives being replaced by a Liberal-NDP/Bloc Québécois coalition government. I doubt Stephen Harper will get elected again if we have to go through another election.

A man from Belgrave, Ont., has been killed in a snowmobile crash according to The Canadian Press. The incident on Saturday occurred on a trail southeast of the community in midwestern Ontario. Police had identified the person as 37-year-old Peter Robertson. Officers also urged snowmobilers to check conditions with the provincial snowmobile federation before heading for the trails. I have not been able to get more information on this news item through the internet. The snowmobile season is really getting on the go with all the snow and freezing temperatures we had lately. People need to be reminded that they refrain from speeding when heading into wooded snowmobile trails. I greatly suspect that was the cause of this persons snowmobile accident. That , or he had been drinking too much alcohol. Either way, these are two main reasons that people get into snowmobile accidents. For those who have a snowmobile, please take care of yourselves and do not do stupid things on your snowmobile. Lets try to enjoy nature, without hurting or killing ourselves in the process. Please...
