According to a January 21st, 2009 BBC News report, a member of Netherlands
parliament, Geert Wilder, is being accused of "Hate speech" by a radical Imam
from some Islamic group. "In a democratic system, hate speech is considered so
serious that it is in the general interest to... draw a clear line," the court
in Amsterdam said. Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders posted on the Internet a film
which accused the Koran of inciting violence, despite government fears that it
will offend Muslims and give rise to protests. The film was posted on his Freedom
Party's Web site but could be watched only briefly before the Web site said
it was not available for technical reasons. The 15-minute film called "Fitna", a
Koranic term sometimes translated as "strife," started with a warning that it
contains "very shocking images." It interspersed images of the Sept. 11, 2001,
attacks on the World Trade Center and other bombings with quotes from the Koran.
The Amsterdam appeals court, filed by a radical Imam through an Islamic group,
had ordered the prosecution of a member of parliament, Geert Wilders for
inciting hatred and discrimination, based on comments by him in his video,
Fitna, on Muslims and their beliefs. The court is asked to consider appropriate
criminal prosecution for insulting Muslim worshippers because of the video he
had made. What do Geert Wilder have to say in his defence on the charges of
"Hate speech"? Mr Wilders said the judgement was an "attack on the freedom of
expression. Participation in the public debate has become a dangerous activity.
If you give your opinion, you risk being prosecuted, not only me, but all Dutch
citizens opposed to the "Islamisation" of their country would be on trial", Mr
Wilders warned. "Who will stand up for our culture if I am silenced?" he added.
UPDATE; Reuters reports that Liveleak has taken down the Fitna video after
its staff received death threats from Muslim groups. The company ran this
statement on their Web site: This is a sad day for freedom of speech on the net
but we have to place the safety and well being of our staff above all else. We
would like to thank the thousands of people, from all backgrounds and religions,
who gave us their support. They realised LiveLeak.com is a vehicle for many
opinions and not just for the support of one. Get the full story from the National
Post printed in March 27, 2008, which will enlighten Canadians on the true
nature of Islam and its Muslim adheriants. The internet, being what it is, the
video Fitna can now be found elsewhere, like here...
If you are off-line, get on line to view the Fitna video, and find out what
this whole fuss is all about. Notice as you view the Fitna video, the death
threats that are coming from Muslims, while other Muslims would have you believe
that Islam is a peaceful, benevolent religion.
I think it is important that people are made aware about Islam and what
Muslims represent. It really is a matter of safty for the free world, where
people have the freedom to speak the truth without having some kind of death
threats imposed by some groups. Geert Wilder video, Fitna, on the Internet is
precisely the kind of action that needs to happen for the free world to confront
Muslims and their religion of Islam. You don't submit or run away from a bully,
you take a stand and confront a bully so that you do not fall prey to their
intimidation. This is all about free speech (not hate speech) and intolerance
for free speech. One can see that by the kind of death threats that are coming
from Muslim groups. One can also apply the "Hate Speech" law on the religion of
Orthodox Judaism and their Torah, and Christianity and their Christian bible where
it totally degrades homosexuals as sub-human beings and demands that they are to
be killed because of who they are. Getting back to Geert Wilder's Fitna, which
exposes the violent nature of Islam and the threat it poses to the West. There was
nothing in that Fitna video, which could be labeled as "hate speech", unlike what
Muslims are saying in the Koran and making death threats on people who exposes the
religion of Islam for what it is. It is time that Canadians need to re-evaluate
their thinking on what Islam, Orthodox Judaism and Christianity is really all about
and what they stand for. In reality, these religions are a deadly cancer that is
spreading its hatred within our Canadian soceity. I recall in that Fitna video, the
Muslims claimed that Islam had once ruled the world, and that they will once again
rule the world. We know from actual history, that statement is a lie. Islam had never
ruled the entire world. Muslims, like Christians and Orthodox Jews, have a tendency
to lie when advocating and defending their religions. Oh, and please do not give me the crap
about the difference between the Moderate and Extremist Muslims. They both have
the same end game plan to put every nation under Islamic rule. The only
difference is how they go about achieving their global Islamic conquering goal.
One do not impose or force a religion on anyone! Every human being was given
free will by GOD. The free will to except or reject any religion. No one has the
right to force in any manner, by torture or manipulation through lies and
deception, their religious views upon others. Every individual will have to
ultimately answer to GOD, and to GOD alone, in the choices and actions they have made.
An Israeli soldier was killed, another was seriously wounded and two others
were lightly hurt Tuesday morning by a roadside bomb on the Gaza border close to
Kissufim. A military source said this was the first significant violation of the
ceasefire. So much for that stupid unilateral ceasefire Israel had initiated
while United States President Barack Obama sends his special envoy George
Mitcell to Israel Prime Minister's Office to pursue their defunct "Peace Plan"
with the so-called "Palestinian Arabs" who support Hamas. What a bunch of stupid
people these "peace activists" are, who are beating their heads on a stone wall
and do not have the good sense to know when to quit. Blame this Mid-East
catastrophe where it belongs, on the religion of Islam and the people who
ascribe to it.
Two Vancouver off-duty police officers are charged in the brutal beating of a
man outside a hotel on Burrard Street early last Wednesday morning. Vancouver
police Chief Jim Chu stated on Monday that the off-duty West Vancouver police
officers were involved in the beating of 47-year-old Phil Khan. Vancouver police
Chief Jim Chu announced that charges will be recommended against two of the
three off-duty officers arrested in connection with the attack on Phil Khan, a
delivery man in downtown Vancouver. Before charges were announced, Vancouver
police interviewed nine witnesses, as well as the three Vancouver officers who
were initially called to the scene in the 600 block of Burrard Street. There
were no video evidence that taken from the scene. According to a CBC news
reporter, Phil Pilon and Netar Chima told the reporter they were driving in a
truck near West Georgia Street and Burrard when they heard screams. Pilon said
he stopped the truck and saw three young, fairly clean-cut and well-dressed
people punching and kicking someone on the ground. Pilon walked over there to
tell the guys to get off the man. The guy who was being assault was saying,
"Help! Please call the police!" One of the three men who were beating the guy
shouted, "We are the police". Pilon then backed off and watched with several
other witnesses as the alleged assault continued. Pilon stated that "There were
people standing around, and we felt helpless. I can honestly say the feeling I
had was a helpless feeling when I knew that the people that were doing this were
police, and I felt like I couldn't do anything". One officer will be charged
with one count of robbery, while a New Westminster officer will be charged with
one count of assault and one count of possession of stolen property. Police said
there is evidence the third officer involved, a Delta police officer, may have
tried to stop the alleged crime. He will not be charged. Police Chief Jim Chu
admitted during Monday's news conference that he expects the incident will hurt
the public's perception of police. It is too bad such things happen when the
majority of police officers are helping people, rather than hurting innocent
people.
Flaherty promises billions in spending, tax cuts to boost economy. Only now
we learn that the Conservative government is already in a $1.1-billion deficit
shortfall for this fiscal year before we even get into the $40-billion to
stimulate the economy. Flaherty's budget plan predicts a deficit of $33.7
billion for the 2009-10 fiscal year and $29.8 billion the following year. For
2011-12, add another $13 billion, followed by a deficit of $7.3 billion for
2012-13 which brings Canada deficit to around 83.8 billion, and that is without
the $583 billion, that Canada already owes, and without the interest payments
added on to this sea of red ink. If this budget does not get us out of this
recession, we can end up with a total Canada debt load of 1 Trillion, 421
billion in the red. I am frightened at the prospect that if the Harper budget
should fail to take hold, will cause the Canadian debt to become the highest
level that Canada has ever seen. I hope I am wrong in my assessment. No doubt
the people behind the G20 leaders had a hand in getting Canada into such a high
debt load so that Canada becomes a slave to the NWO, World Bank system
(International Monetary Fund). We can also thank Liberal Leader Michael
Ignatieff to force Harper to put Canada into this sea of red ink. We can also
thank the NDP/Liberal/Bloc Québécois coalition to bring all this to completion.
Then again, all this may have been planned by the entire lot. Given this is the
situation Canadians are facing, this buget will help Canadians and I can not see
how Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff will not support the Conservative
government budget. If he does not, we are in for another election. What do I
like about this buget? I am glad to see a reduced federal tax rate on small
business. Support for infrastructure spending. Support for social housing and
privet home renovations, and for aboriginal schools, health, water, housing,
community services and training. The Age Credit for eligible low and middle
income seniors. Support for community cultural and heritage institutions such as
local theatres, small museums and libraries. Support for Via Rail Canada to
improve services. Support to build a new research facility and upgrading the
Chalk River Atomic Energy of Canada Limited plant (which was badly needed) to
maintain safe and reliable operations and help in the development of the
Advanced Candu Reactor. Support to the development of advanced robotics and
other space endevors and clean energy research technologies. Support for
Canadian magazines and community newspapers. Though I would have liked to have
seen some focus on more doctors, nurses and support staff, which are badly
needed, mostly for nursing homes and health clinics in small Northern
communities given the expected huge influx of seniors who will require their
services in the next few years. If Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff will not
support the Conservative government budget and forces Canadians to go into
another election, I would hope Canadians will stop beating-around-the-bush, as
what had happened in the last election, and give the Harper a majority
Government so that he can get on with the job of governing. This is not the time
to be pussy-footing- around. We need to get going on stimulating the economy and
get ourselves out from this economic downturn. This is too serious a matter to
continue playing this political cat and mouse game.
From now on, as each day that passes by, it brings me closer to that day when
I will be in a position to finally purchase some wilderness land. Where that
will be, I have not a clue. But given the present circumstance, it will more
likely be next year the latest before I will have any idea where it will be
located. When I will have that piece of wilderness land, I will then be able to
spend my money to get the material to build my log cabin and install furnishings
and various gizmos to make it comfortable to live in. That will be my little
contrabution to help get the economy back on its feet. This will be a pleasure
to do. When I will get it all done, I will be able to sit back and breath a sigh
of relief, that I have finally accomplished what I had set out to do, to make
that long-held wilderness dream, become a reality. Buddy and I will have a life
that was meant to be.
It appears that Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff said that his party would
support the federal budget with strict conditions. "We are putting this
government on probation, for their failure to plan and act as a government, we
hold them responsible", Ignatieff said. If I was Prime Minister, I would tell
Ignatieff to get lost with his threats and demands! His threats amount to
nothing but a lot of hot air. I do not think Ignatieff would be that stupid to
bring down the Government at this time. Speaking to reporters from the National
Press Theatre in Ottawa, Ignatieff lambasted Harper's government's record in
handling the current economic crisis. How could Harper do anything when those
"Three Stooges" kept getting in the way and had pretty well put everything on
hold, by their stupid Liberal/NDP/Bloc Québécois coalition threats. Ignatieff
appears to have sparked recriminations from other opposition party leaders. They
accused Ignatieff of betraying the principles of a Liberal/NDP/Bloc Québécois
coalition agreement he endorsed less than two months ago. During question period
in the House of Commons, Ignatieff presented a motion during the budget debate
in the House of Commons, where he wants regular reports to Parliament on the
budget's implementation and costs, to be delivered in March, June and December
of this year. Harper did not mention the Liberal amendment, but replied he would
like to see the measures in the budget implemented as quickly as possible. That
with the co-operation of this Parliament, they can pass the measures to make
that spending more effective and more quickly. A vote on the Liberal motion to
amend the budget could come as early as Monday, CBC's Margo McDiarmid reported
from Ottawa.
In the meantime, those self-righteous Anti-Smoking campaigners must be
getting pretty desperate when they have to resort to bribing people to quit
smoking. Those "Drive to Quit" challenge Ads put out by the "Canadian Cancer
Society" are coming out in full force, which are bribing people to quit smoking
and get a chance to win a car for quiting. How arrogant that is. Quit smoking so you can induce
cancer and gas people and children with the fumes coming out from the car
exhaust. That's real bright, coming from the Canadian Cancer Society! It is a
well known fact that car exhausts is one of the main cause of cancer and other
repertory problems. Ask anyone living in smog city. But do I hear these people
cry out to put a ban on all gas and diesel vehicles, trains, Jets, airplanes,
diesel & gasoline generators, ATV's, and snowmobiles? Oh No, not that! Their
children do not matter in that case. It would be too much of an inconvenience to
give up those things, even though they are inducing cancer, asthma and other
repertory problems for people and their children. What a bunch of self-righteous
hypocrites these people are!
Jan.29th. 2009; This morning we had a light dusting of snow with
temperatures hovering around the -9°C mark with light winds from the south at
6km/h. I never thought that I would live to see the day when our Canadian
National Anthem would be dropped from being played in our schools. But today, I
read in the news about complaints from some families to stop a New Brunswick
school from playing our Canadian National Anthem, "O Canada". The school
eliminated the morning ritual of playing our national anthem in September 2007
after complaints were made by two families who took issue with the anthem. Erik
Millett, the principal of the small school of 214 students in Springfield, N.B.
decided to drop the playing of our national anthem 'O Canada' because there are
families who are from a different culture and have different beliefs. Erik
Millett stated that; "It's not up to me as a school administrator to subject
kids to something their parents don't want them exposed to. I have to protect
the minority rights as well as the majority rights. We're not living in a bubble
in Belleisle, there's cultural diversity everywhere. I'm not here to disrupt
anyone's culture, that's not my purpose. I'm here to prepare the children to the
best of my ability for the world out there, and that involves listening and
understanding others". Millett feels it is important to embrace the gray areas
and find a middle ground, which is exactly what he thinks he has done on this
issue. July 1, 1980 the Governor General, His Excellency the Right Honourable
Edward Schreyer, proclaimed that the National Anthem of Canada, "O Canada" was
the official symbol of the country.
O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North, strong and free!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land, glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard, for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard, for thee."
While Canada and every other nations are trying to combat terrorism in which
Muslims are perpetuating around the world, the United Nations is launching an
appeal for 613 million dollars to help Muslim terrorists and their supporters in
the Gaza Strip. This is what is happening while the war against Muslim
terrorists is going on. So what is the United Nations doing? It is supplying
funds to a bunch of Muslims who support the efforts of terrorism. What a crazy
situation this entire war on terrorism is. As far as I am concerned, the United
Nations should be charged for aiding and abetting terrorists groups. In the
meantime, Foreign Minister Abdul Gheit of Egypt has accused Iran, Hamas and
Hezbollah of trying to use the war in Gaza to cause a wider regional conflict in
order to divert attention from Tehran's efforts to acquire a nuclear bomb. What
a crazy world we are living in. The United Nations and the Middle East have gone
totally nuts!
To get back into a bit of sanity, I came across this artical Posted By Mark
Gentili in The Northern Times that is noteworthy. It is titled; "Time Travelling
Cops". The artical is about the OPP Commemorative Patrol which pays tribute to
its northern connection in the force’s birth. If it was not for the booming
resource industry in Northern Ontario, and a need to keep rowdy miners and
bushworkers in line, the Ontario Provincial Police might never have evolved into
what it is today, one of the largest standing police forces in North America.
The 5,000 officers owe a great deal to the men who, starting in 1909, policed
the remote stretches of Northern Ontario in a most unconventional manner. Living
on the trail, these men, more often than not travelling alone, patrolled by
whatever means they could, travelling hundreds of kilometres by snowshoe and
dogsled, hitching rides on wagons and trains. Their provincially mandated
mission: to impose law and order in the lumber camps and mining towns that were
springing up across the north. That frontier presence is being celebrated by the
OPP Commemorative Patrol, an event that will see two OPP officers don period
gear, and travel over 1,000 kilometres by rail, snowshoe and dogsled, stopping
at the sites of the OPP’s earliest outposts to educate the public about the
force’s history. The patrol kicks off in Hearst this Sunday. It’s a salute to
the hardiness, resourcefulness and determination of those men, said Const.
Jennifer Nolet, the community services officer at the Hearst Detachment.
The gull U.S. President Barack Obama has, to come to Canada after having
insulted Canadians with his economic stimulus bill which passed by the House,
section 1110 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 which states;
"None of the funds appropriated or otherwise made available by this act may be
used for a project for the construction, alteration, maintenance, or repair of a
public building or public work unless all of the iron and steel used in the
project is produced in the United States". I suppose section 1110 also includes lumber, plywood
and maybe even oil. After having shot the first salvo, this may well lead to a
trade war with Canada. Something some Canadians politicians are contemplating,
like placing a tariff on everything that comes into Canada from the USA. Which I
might add, is quite considerable, given that most merchandize in our stores,
come from the USA. Canadian companies may have to get used to selling their
products that would ordinary be heading towards the USA, to sell to Canadian and
other export markets. What we normally import from the USA, get those items from
other sources. Barack Obama had better cancel his trip to Canada for he will not
be very well received by most Canadians. They may run that two-faced cheeky
clown right out of town. We can see Obama was not honest during his campaign
trail when he stated that he would not take the protectionist route. Had Obama
been honest and stated that he would use protectionist messures when asked about
it, Canadians would not have been shocked at the sudden about-face change. This
is a hell of a way to start a relationship with Canada and Canadians. Because of
Obama's dishonesty, he has managed to alienate Canada and half the world with
his sudden about-face doctrine of protectionist messures. All this he
acomplished within the first week of his Presidency. What a blunder! What a way
to start his Presidency. Anyway, it will be around mid-February for that bill to
be signed into law by Obama's desk. We will see what developes by then.
Personally, I am in favor of using protectionist measures to protect Canadian
jobs, businesses and their security, from Multinational, predatory Capitalist
take-over piranhas who have no intrest in people's lives, but only look at their
bottom $-line-$. Unlike Obama, one has to be up front, and open about what you
stand for. You do not try to hide your true agenda by lying to people.
Thieves are apparently targeting foreigners who exchange money at Mexico
City's international airport. A French citizen was shot in the head on Tuesday,
and authorities warned that gangs have put lookouts at exchange windows in the
airport terminal. A 55 year-old French biotechnology researcher was attacked and
robbed of $6,336 on a street near the airport. The French researcher is in
serious condition at a local hospital. If Canadians are planning to go south for
warmer weather, they should avoid Mexico on their vacation plans. There are many
warm, friendly, safe destinations Canadians can go to, like Jamaica, Anguilla
and St. Lucia, (located in the Caribbean), or the Great Barrier Reef at
Queensland, Australia, or Mauritius island, situated in the Indian Ocean, or
even Victoria, Vancouver Island. That is if you don't mind +3 to +11°C
tempatures. It is far better than the -9 to -36°C tempatures we get in Northern
Ontario. For those of us who can't go to warmer climate, we will just have to
slug it out till spring, three months from now.
A 35-year-old man dies in a snowmobile accident in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont..
The man died after his snowmobile plummeted down an embankment in the city's
north end. The man was traveling ahead of a group of 12 riders on an Ontario
Federation of Snowmobile Clubs trail. The man, who has not been named pending
notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead in hospital. A groomer operator
with Sault Trailblazers, had seen fresh tracks going up and over an embankment
near a curve around 7 Pm. Al Tourigny stopped his groomer, grabbed a flashlight
and saw a pair of feet under a Yamaha SX Viper at the bottom of the embankment.
Tourigny ran down, and managed to flip the 700-pound snowmobile off the rider
and cleared snow off the man, but there was no signs of life. Those groomed
snowmobile trails were suppose to make snowmobile travel safer, but instead, are
being used by snowmobilers more like "Highways", and the death toll continues to
rise. Last year in the North east Region, eight people were killed in snowmobile
incidents. People tend to use these groomed snowmobile trails as highways and
their operators tend to speed aboard their snowmobile. Traveling at high speed,
people tend to forget that a sudden impact, or the possibility of running into
open water, leaves riders little in the way of a second chance. From Wawa to
Kapuskasing through to North Bay, Mattawa and Burks Falls from Parry Sound,
Sudbury and Manitoulin - along the North Shore to the Sault, the OPP are working
hard to curb the snowmobile collision death toll. But despite their best efforts
to make these groomed snowmobile trails safe, people continue to speed on them
as if they are super-highways. We already know that speed and alcohol is a
deadly mix. This recent snowmobile death is reason enough to re-think about
making and using those groomed snowmobile trails. If these groomed snowmobile
trails are being continually abused by snowmobilers who tend to speed on them,
rather than adding more rules, regulations and restrictions, maybe it is high
time that these groomed snowmobile trails are done away with, and get back to
use snowmobiles as they were meant to be used, to travel into the woods in a
more natural way, by having to pick your way slowly as you travel along the
woods.
News of the murder case of twelve year-old Karissa Boudreau is solved. Penny
Boudreau, a "Christian" mother finally confessed for the murder of her own
daughter. Penny Boudreau, 34, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in a
Bridgewater, N.S. courtroom today. She was sentenced to life imprisonment for
killing her twelve year-old daughter in her bid to keep her boyfriend from
leaving. The twelve year-old girl, Karissa Boudreau frozen body was found on the
banks of the LaHave River on Feb. 9th, 2008 two weeks after Penny Boudreau
reported her missing on Jan. 27, 2008. Two days after the girl went missing, her
mother had made an emotional plea to the media and public to help get her
daughter back. She claimed that the two had an argument in a supermarket parking
lot on the day she went missing. At the time of the twelve year-old girl's
disappearance, police had scoured a river and wooded area close to the grocery
store, but nothing turned up until a passerby stumbled upon the girl's frozen
body. Karissa Boudreau, 12, was a Grade 6 student at Bridgewater Elementary
School. According to Penny Boudreau confession, Boudreau was given an ultimatum
by her live-in boyfriend, Vernon Macumber, who told her either the daughter had
to go, or he would end their relationship. In no way did Vernon Macumber mean,
that she was to kill her daughter, Karissa. On the day of the reported girl's
disappearance on that snowy day at the supermarket where Karissa and her mother
had that argument, Boudreau left Karissa in the car while she placed a call to
her boyfriend, telling him the girl had gone missing. Boudreau then returned to
the car and they drove to a nearby road where she told Karissa to get out of the
car. Boudreau then knocked her daughter to the ground before pinning her down
and strangling her with a length of twine. She then dragged the body back to the
car, and drove to the nearby river. She hauled the girls pants down to give the
appearance that a sexual assault had occurred. She then rolled the body down the
river bank. Boudreau then went back home and gathered some of Karissa's clothing
and drove to the local swimming pool Arena and dumped the clothing in a garbage
bin. Then she told the police her daughter had run away. She also called friends
and teachers to spread the story. According to Police, this was a well
thought-out premeditated murder. Police are satisfied that the lived-in
boyfriend Vernon Macumber, was not involved in the crime. What was Boudreau
motive for killing her daughter? To save her faltering relationship with
Macumber and keep Karissa from publicly calling her a bad mother. Justice
Margaret Stewart, who handed down the sentence at the Nova Scotia Supreme Court
in Bridgewater, said the horrible crime merited a harsh sentence. So we have a
"Christian" mother who belonged in a Christian culture, had murdered her own
daughter and had lied to the police and the media in order to cover-up her
dastardly deed.
Feb.1st. 2009; This morning at 6 AM, we have light snow falling with
temperatures hovering around the -11°C mark with winds from the southwest at
30km/h. I do not know where January went, because it had passed by so fast. I
see in the news that another one of our Canadian soldier was killed and four of
his comrades were wounded by another roadside bomb on Saturday near Kandahar
city. Sapper Sean David Greenfield, 25, was a combat engineer based in Petawawa,
Ont. He is the second Canadian soldier killed in Afghanistan in 2009, bringing
the Canadian military's death toll to 108 since the Afghan mission began seven
years ago. We can thank Harper and the rest of the politicians on "The Hill" for
that. Greenfield was with the 24 Field Engineer Squadron, 2 Combat Engineer
Regiment, serving with the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment Battle
Group. Why are we sacrificing our Canadian soldiers? We have been fed that Bull
story about wanting to help make a difference in the lives of the Afghan people
by maintaining security and stability that will allow the country to rebuild and
look to the future. The truth why we are still in Afghanistan and we are
sacrificing our Canadian soldiers is mainly because of the oil pipeline that
wants to be built, but the Taliban-Al Qaeda combine forces are preventing this
from happening. Afghanistan and foreign oil companies, under the interim
government of Chairman Hamid Karzai, are seeking to build a pipeline that would
take oil and gas to India via Pakistan and Afghanistan. According to the latest
artical on Saturday, January 31, 2009 from EurasiaNet.com
, (EurasiaNet provides information and analysis about political, economic,
environmental and social developments in the countries of Central Asia and the
Caucasus, as well as in Russia, the Middle East, and Southwest Asia). The
release of new estimates showing that Afghanistan may possess substantial
reserves of oil and gas may shake up Central Asia’s increasingly competitive
energy contest and alter the region’s geopolitical balance. In March, the US
Geological Survey and the Afghan Ministry of Mines and Industry reported that
Afghanistan’s resource base was much greater than previously believed. According
to their findings, undiscovered petroleum resources in northern Afghanistan
range from 3.6 to 36.5 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of natural gas, with a mean of
15.7 TCF. Estimates of oil range from 0.4 to 3.6 billion barrels (BBO), with a
mean of 1.6 BB0. Estimates for natural gas liquids range from 126 to 1,325
million barrels (MMB) with a mean of 562 MMB. These estimates represent an
18-fold increase in the country’s potential oil resources, and more than triple
the natural gas resources. With Afghanistan solidly in the US camp, Kabul’s
emergence as an energy exporter could boost American efforts to regain lost
ground in its geopolitical rivalry with Russia. Today, there are two pipeline
projects involving Afghanistan that would connect Central Asian exporters and
South Asian markets. One is a projected Iran-Pakistan-India line (IPI) and the
other is a Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India line, the Trans-Afghanistan
Pipeline or TAP (TAPI) being funded by the Asian Development Bank. Naturally,
these contrasting plans have helped spur geopolitical maneuvering in the region.
Given the US policy goal of trying to stymie Iran’s energy exports wherever
possible, Washington opposes the IPI line and supports TAP. The latter also
could enhance Washington’s new strategy of reorienting Central Asian energy to
South Asian markets in order to steer Central Asian states away from Russia.
Under any scenario, the end of Afghanistan’s stabilization process, along with
the start of pipeline construction, is a long way off. But the vistas opened up
by this new energy discovery not only raise the stakes of the pipeline battle,
they have implications that go well beyond Afghanistan into Central Asia. This
is the main reason why it is so important to have total control over
Afghanistan. According to press release issued by the oil company’s liaison office, the Pakistan government has awarded the contract of laying the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) gas pipeline project to the United States International Oil Company (IOC) with an estimated cost of $10 billion. The contract for the 2,200-kilometre TAP gas pipeline, was awarded to the US based company. Two oil refineries and four thermal powerhouses, with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts, would also be established under this project. It could bring in hundreds of millions of dollars to the company and its CEO's. This is the reason why our Canadian soldier are in Afghanistan and getting killed. So that the corporations and their CEO's can make hundreds of millions of dollars. Given that news, I can not help wonder if that
$50 million repair job on that Dahla Dam project in Afghanistan, which the Harper government had recently dished out from Canadian taxpayers money, had anything to do with the thermal powerhouse project? That Dahla Dam project was set to be completed by 2011, the same year that Canada's military mission in Afghanistan is scheduled to end. Prime Minister Stephen Harper offered his condolences to family, friends and comrades of Greenfield. Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff extended his deepest sympathies to the loved ones of Sapper Greenfield and to the entire armed forces family. Ignatieff also stated that "Canadians owe a tremendous debt to the men and women of our Canadian Forces for their courage and sacrifice for our country". For
OUR country??? What the heck is this guy talking about, sacrifice for our country? He must have ment for the oil corporations and their CEO's and that Islamic country! A country where Muslims attack all non-Muslim infedel people and want to take over the western free world with its pagan Islamic relegion and its Sharia laws.
In the meantime, world leaders fear protectionism could halt their
globalization plans. Speaking at the World Economic Forum, British Prime
Minister Gordon Brown said that the global economic crisis is no reason to shun
free trade, during a meeting of government and business leaders in Davos,
Switzerland. Brown warned about the rising threat of protectionism and
recommended co-operation to address the problem. This is not like the 1930s, the
world can come together, it is possible for world leaders to make decisions that
will make a difference to the projected development of the world economy. Now,
of course, we've got to get the right ideas and, of course, we've got to build
on the right principles. I believe we're in a global economy. You cannot now do
without the global institutions that are necessary to make that global economy
work," he said. Peter Sutherland, former head of the World Trade Organization,
said every political leader at the forum is talking about fears that countries
will go into a protectionist spiral and introduce more tariffs on imported
goods, a policy that would restrict free trade between countries. I am sure the
Multi-National and International companies are very upset about this. It would
surely cramp their style and operations. If more countries get on that
protectionist bandwagon, they may have to start another World War to get back on
track to continue their globalization plans. As for U.S. President Barack Obama
economic stimulus bill 1110 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of
2009, he will scale back his protectionist plans. His Globalization Masters will
see to that. They are the one's who are pulling all the strings.
I notice that the EU has its problems when hundreds of British energy workers
walked off the job on Friday to join protests over the use of imported workers
at Britain's third-largest oil refinery. Workers at about a dozen other
refineries in Scotland and South Wales, joined in the protest Friday.
Contractors are upset that the company has brought in Italian and Portugeuse
workers for the project and plans to bring in more. "We want fairness. We want
the rights of our members to have the opportunity to be employed, not just on
this job but on all jobs around the United Kingdom", said Bernard McAuley,
regional representative of the Unite union. The protests began Wednesday at
Total UK’s Lindsey oil refinery in Lincolnshire, eastern England, after the
owner awarded a contract to an Italian company who will be bringing Italian and
Portugeuse workers for the project and they plan to bring in more imported
workers. So much for that globalization agenda that all the European countries
got themselves sucked into. Now they are beginning to realize how all this is
going to effect their individual countries. Oh, excuse me, did I say individual
countries? They no longer have a sovereign country under the EU "umbrella". They
are one big dysfunctional family. Enjoy.
Word of Caution; This can also happen to Canada if Canadians don't smarten-up
and they passively allow our Politicians to drag Canada into the EU globalization
agenda. We will no longer have a sovereign country to call our own. Everything
will be taken care for us under the United Nations, which is another one of
those corrupt, really dysfunctional organizations. Canadians had better start
thinking about what they want before it is too late to do anything to stem the
tide of Globalization.
Speaking about jobs and job security, I read an interesting article which
suggest that Robots could fill jobs that people do, in the not too distant
future. This is not a new thing, but it was always seen as something that might
happen in the far distant future. That may no longer be the case. Japan is in
the forefront in robotics which Japan hopes will be used to replace the 3.5
million people who are getting older. Japan hopes it will be ready to meet that
challenge by 2025, a think tank says, helping to avert worker shortages as the
country's population shrinks. Japan is very reluctant to import workers from
other countries. As it stands now, Japan faces a 16 percent slide in the size of
its workforce by 2030 while the number of elderly will mushroom, the government
estimates, raising worries about who will do the work in a country who do not
want to use large-scale immigrant workers. There is already a move to decrease
foreign laborers.
Japan's think tank says robots could help fill the gap. This will allow humans
to focus on more important things, while robots do regular chores in the
workforce that people do now. Japan estimates that it could save 2.1 trillion
yen ($21 billion) by using robots. Robots can be used to monitor the health of
older people, so they don't have to rely on human nursing care. Robots can look
after children and do housework, replace receptionists, factory & farm
workers, various trades people, counter personnel, some police work, and even
replace teachers, news, sport and weather TV announcers. ect. The study suggest that
Robots are important because they could help in various ways to alleviate such
shortage in the labor force. The current fertility rate in Japan is 1.3 babies per
woman, far below the level needed to maintain the population, while the government
estimates that 40 percent of the population will be over 65 by 2055, raising concerns
about who will look after the graying population. Changes are still needed for robots
to make a big impact on the workforce. There's the expensive price tag, the
functions of the robots still need to improve, and then there is the mindsets of
people, where they will need to get used to using and living with robots. Will this become the
trend for the rest of the world? The future is already looking in. This is what people can expect if we continue on this globalization treadmill. Major businesses will not hesitate to displace people with robots where ever they can in order to meet their bottom $-line-$ expectations. Job security is already a lost concept which will continue to become non-existent in this disposable minded society. Here's looking at you, Chum!
